Expect the changes to the people’s business-as-usual to be mostly cosmetic under Kevin McCarthy’s reign as speaker of the House. "If at first you don’t succeed, try, try again.” That seems to be Kevin McCarthy’s favorite mantra. Friday night, on the 15th vote for speaker of the House, he finally got his moist little palm around Nancy Pelosi’s still-warm gavel. Welcome to the new Republican-ish speaker of the House! The contest was brutal, occasionally absurd, and the occasion of hilarity and consternation among the punditocracy on both the Right and the Left. The Left clucked their tongues about the “chaos”...

SEATTLE (AP) — The public school district in Seattle has filed a novel lawsuit against the tech giants behind TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube and Snapchat, seeking to hold them accountable for the mental health crisis among youth. Seattle Public Schools filed the lawsuit Friday in U.S. District Court. The 91-page complaint says the social media companies have created a public nuisance by targeting their products to children. It blames them for worsening mental health and behavioral disorders including anxiety, depression, disordered eating and cyberbullying; making it more difficult to educate students; and forcing schools to take steps such as hiring...

South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem appears to be showing off her bona fides ahead of what's expected to be a competitive 2024 Republican presidential primary as she gave her second inaugural speech Saturday. Noem, who won re-election by 26 points, spoke ahead of the speech, which included a reference to David Letterman's famous 'Top 10' lists and discussed how her leadership can offer lessons for the rest of the country. She was asked Saturday if she wasn't ruling out a 2024 run and responded that 'that's fair to say. But there are a lot of people out there talking about...

I have talked extensively for two years now about the nonstop gaslighting, brainwashing and propaganda going on in America – a conspiracy of government (in particular, the Department of Justice and FBI), media, social media, Hollywood and, of course, the UniParty (Democrats combined with RINO fraud Republicans). This week we have witnessed one of the best examples ever: the Rep. Kevin McCarthy House speaker saga. McCarthy is a prime example of a UniParty fraud: He is a D.C. swamp, deep-state RINO fake who backstabbed former President Donald Trump and then raised money to attack and defeat Trump-backed, America First, MAGA...

WASHINGTON, Jan 8 (Reuters) - President Joe Biden will visit the U.S.-Mexico border on Sunday for the first time since taking office nearly two years ago, tackling one of the most politically charged issues in the country as he prepares for a reelection bid. Biden on Thursday announced fresh plans to block Cuban, Haitian and Nicaraguan migrants at the U.S.-Mexico border, expanding the nationalities of migrants who can be expelled back to Mexico, and the visit to El Paso, Texas, isn't expected to yield any new policy breakthroughs. Instead, it is meant to demonstrate that the U.S. president is taking...

A brand new Republican member of Congress from Florida tweeted a shocking joke about the 2022 vicious home invasion beating of 82-year-old Paul Pelosi, husband of former House speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.). “Finally,” slammed new Rep. Cory Mills (R-Fla.), “one less gavel in the Pelosi house for Paul to fight with in his underwear.” The ugly tweet was apparently Mills’ version of a celebration of the ascendency to House speaker of Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.). Mills was also making fun of the brutal attack on Paul Pelosi, who was beaten with a hammer in the middle of the night last October...

In 2021, only 486 people died using California's assisted suicide program, but that same year in Canada, 10,064 died used MAID to die that year. MAID has now grown so popular that Canada has both anti-suicide hotlines to try and stop people killing themselves, as well as pro-suicide hotlines for people wanting to end their lives. MAID has fallen into further scrutiny over claims that people are now seeking assisted suicide due to poverty and homelessness or mental anguish, as opposed to the traditional method of the terminally-ill seeking a painless death. Dying With Dignity Canada associates Ellen Wiebe and...

The second-term governor is no stranger to firing off public broadsides against her critics.Last month, South Dakota State University (SDSU) sparked fierce criticism from conservatives after allowing a "kid-friendly" drag show to be hosted on campus. Among those critics was Norman Woods, director of the state-based social-conservative advocacy group Family Heritage Alliance (FHA), who penned an open letter to Governor Kristi Noem urging her to take action: "Innocent children should not be exposed to drag shows. Full stop," Woods wrote. "Considering you have the power to hold the South Dakota Board of Regents accountable and fire at will, I am...

A working mom of three from Massachusetts mysteriously vanished after leaving home to catch a flight on New Year’s Day — sparking a statewide police search as her loved ones fear the worst. Ana Walshe, 39, of Cohasset ordered a rideshare bound for Logan International Airport in Boston at 4 a.m. to commute to Washington, DC, for her job at a real estate firm, according to police. Anyone wishing to gain entry into Thailand will soon be required to show proof of receiving at least two doses of the Covid-19 vaccine prior to their arrival. The measure will apply to all arrivals in the kingdom regardless of nationality. The Ministry of Public Health is planning to reintroduce the old entry requirement amid concerns that Chinese tourists will import a caseload of Covid into Thailand when China – where the virus is rampant – reopens its border on Sunday, January 8. Public Health Minister Anutin Charnvirakul was not clear about when the measure would come into effect. It...

Introduction The development of myocarditis following mRNA vaccination is rare, occurring in < 2 per 100,000 individuals. It remains an unpredictable mysterious occurrence. Some have suggested that it is linked to the overproduction of antibodies or abnormal immune responses. Autoantibody production due to polyclonal B cell activation and proliferation has also been suggested, as has immune complex formation and inflammation. Finally, some think that cardiac antigens closely resembling the spike protein are targeted by autoantibodies formed as a result of molecular mimicry. The immune response to these vaccines in these patients needs to be better understood in order to determine...

Leading US attorney Prof. Alan Dershowitz told Galei Tzahal's Morning News Show with Efi Triger that the government's planned reforms to Israel judicial system will open the Jewish State to greater international criticism and make it more difficult for supporters like him to defend Israel. "I have no doubt that if the plan is implemented it will weaken the position of Israel and the position of the its Supreme Court in the world, I am certainly afraid that it will be much more difficult for people like me to defend Israel against its critics," Dershowitz said. .....
