WASHINGTON, Jan 8 (Reuters) - President Joe Biden will visit the U.S.-Mexico border on Sunday for the first time since taking office nearly two years ago, tackling one of the most politically charged issues in the country as he prepares for a reelection bid.
Biden on Thursday announced fresh plans to block Cuban, Haitian and Nicaraguan migrants at the U.S.-Mexico border, expanding the nationalities of migrants who can be expelled back to Mexico, and the visit to El Paso, Texas, isn't expected to yield any new policy breakthroughs.
Instead, it is meant to demonstrate that the U.S. president is taking the issue seriously, stop nagging questions about when he plans to visit, shore up relations with border patrol, and potentially give him another chance to push Congress to pass new laws to fix a broken system.
However, Republicans' newly assumed control of the House of Representatives essentially blocks prospects for any legislative fixes, leaving Biden with few good options.
"The trip is recognition that this is a serious issue, one with real hardships, but it's also one that will only get solved with the help of Republicans, said Karen Finney, a Democratic consultant.
Republicans have continually used the border issue as a cudgel against Biden, blaming him for failing to crack down harder. And with a thin Republican majority in the House that gives the party's hardliners greater clout, there is little hope for compromise.
Republicans, furious about Biden's reversal of some close-the-border policies of former President Donald Trump, have seized on record crossings, deaths of migrants and reports of fentanyl pouring across the border to demand the impeachment of Biden's homeland security secretary, Alejandro Mayorkas.

Biden will see only the need for more “humanitarian aid”, in other words...our tax dollars, to feed, clothe, supply cell phones, etc.
The swarms of illegal invaders coming across our borders is all part of their plan, not seen as a problem.

Not only did they do nothing to help, but they also encouraged the illegals to come, excoriated their own border patrol agents, and then played dumb like they didn’t know there were massive issues for the border states dealing with their purposeful meddling.
All Biden sees is “Citizens that will vote Democrat”. He needs to be reminded that we actually have immigration laws...and they work if you follow them.
What is currently happening to the hoardes of illegals crossing the border? They are arrested.
Are they then returned to Mexico while proceedings are in process?
Are the Government reps who do not send them back not guilty of violation of the Supreme Court ruling?
hy are they not being harassed night and day where they live? Are their kids harassed at school? why not? Are their mothers harassed? why not?

Note El Paso has been cleansed of illegal alien tent cities so Biden will just see a Potemkin Village
Demand the impeachment of Biden’s homeland security secretary, Alejandro Mayorkas.
So manty things to go with after Biden and family Mayorkas isn’t far behind.
Keeping the border open has multiple purposes.
1. Importing a permanent underclass that will “vote” democrat.
2. Tie up border control personnel with illegals while the cartels bring in lots of drugs to weaken our country.
3. Allow more diseases to come into our country to weaken our country.
And when you think about who benefits, it would be China.
China owns biden and who knows how many others in DC, so they are following orders from the CCP to weaken our country.
That’s one of the reason I will support Pompeo for President. He has a good handle on China and on Foreign Policy...which is what we need right now. FP covers multiple areas from monetary to immigration to the Russian/Ukie war. He’s well rounded. DeSantis would make a good backup as VP and render “hard work” to support our country as we try to straighten out Biden’s mess.
