Datacenters use a lot of power and despite our best efforts, a big chunk of that still comes from burning fossil fuels. But what if instead of relying on local utilities for power, these facilities generated their own – maybe using a relatively itty-bitty nuclear reactor? In a recent report, Omdia analysts Alan Howard and Vladimir Galabov made the case that using small modular reactors (SMRs) to power large datacenters might not be as crazy as it sounds. As the name suggests, SMRs are essentially just miniaturized reactors. Instead of a massive facility producing gigawatts or more of power, SMRs are designed...

Ray Epps, a mysterious January 6 figure some theorized to be a federal informant, told his nephew that he “orchestrated” what transpired that day in 2021. The bombastic assertion was revealed in a lightly redacted transcript released Thursday by the House January 6 Committee. Claiming he made a poor choice of words to his nephew, Epps insisted to congressional investigators his actions had nothing to do with inciting the Capitol riot and, to the contrary, he was trying to stop the onset of violence. Epps, who is seen in video clips encouraging people to march into the Capitol, also flatly...

Depending on who you ask, members of the billionaire Pritzker family of Chicago are either the proud descendants of a financial genius who are doing good by funding progressive causes — or a secretive dynasty who now back radical no-bail laws and the transgender movement. The most prominent member of the family today is Gov. J.B. Pritzker, 57, a longtime Democratic activist and supporter whose net worth is about $3.6 billion. His sister, Penny, 63, was co-chair of former President Barack Obama’s presidential campaign and later became his secretary for the Department of Commerce. This, despite her once serving on...

"Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you. "Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you." Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, an Ethiopian microbiologist and director of the World Health Organization, (WHO) was recently captured on video saying that some countries are using COVID-19 boosters “to kill children.” This is the most honest thing that has ever come out of Tedros’s mouth. World leaders repeatedly refuse to acknowledge the data on hospitalizations and sudden cardiac deaths in the fully vaccinated and boosted. Sadly, the WHO walked back Tedro’s statements, and fact checkers now claim that his statement was a “slip of the tongue.” The Nov. 15 Instagram post includes a video of Tedros speaking to the press. In...

xplanation: Makemake (sounds like MAH-kay MAH-kay), second brightest dwarf planet of the Kuiper belt, has a moon. Nicknamed MK2, Makemake's moon reflects sunlight with a charcoal-dark surface, about 1,300 times fainter than its parent body. Still, in 2016 it was spotted in Hubble Space Telescope observations intended to search for faint companions with the same technique used to find the small satellites of Pluto. Just as for Pluto and its satellites, further observations of Makemake and orbiting moon will measure the system's mass and density and allow a broader understanding of the distant worlds. About 160 kilometers (100 miles) across...

It is no secret that Ukraine needs defensive NATO-standard armored vehicles. Speaking at the Pentagon in mid-September 2022, a forward-thinking “senior military official” noted that Ukraine “may need to transition to NATO compatible” armored vehicles, and that “tanks are absolutely on the table.” But as 2023 looms, NATO-compatible tanks—even less heavily-armed defensive-oriented ones—are still stuck on the proverbial table. Ukraine has no easy path forward. For modern armored vehicles, there just aren’t too many viable options available. Unless a free-wheeling, on-the-move arms export powerhouse like South Korea rolls up with a surprise offer, only German or American tanks are available...

It is his job to work with Jews abroad, the diaspora, many of whom are liberal and non-Orthodox, and to build support for the Likud Party through social issues. However, Chikli’s repudiation of his past liberal politics may cause problems in dealing with Israel’s LGBTQ community, said Haaretz. Chikli entered the Knesset first as...
