CHISNAU, Moldova: Alexandru Musteata, head of the Information and Security Service, has warned that there is a "very high" risk of a new Russian offensive to take his country's eastern territories next year.
He added that Moscow seeks to create a land corridor to the breakaway Moldovan region of Transdniestria through Ukraine.
Musteata's comments follow the recent statements of Ukrainian army generals warning of the threat of a major new Russian offensive early next year.
In an interview with the TVR-Moldova television channel, Musteata said, "The question is not whether the Russian Federation will undertake a new advance towards Moldova's territory, but when it will do so."

Play silly games. #FAFO.
Wouldn’t surprise me, since this is now a NATO war against them. They’re going to take what they think is needed to assure their safety there.
The Federation has done so well in the Ukraine that they are now planning the next adventure?
Color me cynical but I wonder if Modova is asking the West for money to be prepared?
From the USAID website -
“Building upon a successful 30-year partnership with Moldovans, USAID provides assistance to strengthen Moldova’s democratic governance and economic growth. Since 1992, the American people have invested more than $640 million in Moldova through USAID assistance programs.”
They’d have to cross a lot of Ukraine to get there.
Would the Russians really want another exclave like Kaliningrad or Crimea, especially one so hard to defend as Transnistria?
I suspect Russia and Moldova have an agreement that the Russians keep their hands off Moldova if Moldova stays out of NATO and stays independent, rather than joining their ethnic brothers in Romania.
Perhaps other leaders are growing jealous of the checkbook we have given Zelensky......
Moldova too? Lol
why not its the season for giving
“Perhaps other leaders are growing jealous of the checkbook we have given Zelensky.”
Very true, if Moldova simply lobs some shells at the Russians in Tranistria, the Neocons will FLOOD THEM WITH CASH!!!!
If NATO were actually to go to war against russia
they would be bombing the hell out of all russian territory
Putin’s worse than the Roman’s the Greeks the Turks /s
“If NATO were actually to go to war against russia

If NATO were actually NOT going to war with Russia, they wouldn’t have dumped half of their ground weapons in Ukraine.
Churchill
reminded his countrymen, ‘Nations that go down
fighting rise again, and those that surrender
tamely are finished.’
By then their army might be down to a pair of corporals and a BB gun.
Impossible. They are out of ammunition.
Were Moldova to reunite with Romania then they’d be in NATO and so would Transnistria. And then it would be time for the Russians to leave.
Bob, Russia started the war in 2014 and escalated it in 2022. At no point has anyone attacked Russia.
LOL half
you know not of what you speak
