[Catholic Caucus] Archbishop: Communion has NEVER Been Treated so Casually As in the Novus Ordo ChurchThe way Eucharists are prepared and presided over needs to change, San Francisco Archbishop Salvatore Cordileone told CatholicNewsAgency.com (November 20). For instance, the faithful should go to confession more often and be better prepared to receive Communion respectfully.Cordileone's assessment of the situation is damning, “Never has Communion been treated so casually, in any of the Apostolic Churches, in any of the Eastern Rites, or in the West."Asked if the "only way" to receive Communion properly and respectfully was to receive it - instead of pushing...

Congressional Progressive Caucus Chair Pramila Jayapal (D-Wash.) is coming down strongly on the side of those who think President Biden should run for a second White House term in 2024. “He was not my first or second choice for president, but I am a convert. I never thought I would say this, but I believe he should run for another term and finish this agenda we laid out,” Jayapal told Politico in an interview published Monday.

Vote Latino President María Teresa Kumar argued on Saturday that gerrymandering was a factor in Gov. Ron DeSantis’ re-election, despite his race being a statewide office. Kumar appeared as a guest host on MSNBC’s "Velshi," where a panel discussed former President Trump’s effect on the Republican Party. The discussion soon focused on DeSantis as a kind of successor to "Trumpism" for his rise in popularity However, Kumar claimed that his success, even in the state of Florida, is due not to DeSantis’ record as governor, but because he "gerrymandered" the state. "Is Ron DeSantis Trump 2.0? And a lot of...

A British IT exec died from a fentanyl overdose during a trip to Disney World in Florida with his wife and young son, a UK court has heard. Philip Weybourne, the 40-year-old Middle East director of Excis Compliance Limited, died on just the third day of his family vacation in May, a hearing into the cause of his death was told. He went out drinking alone after what his wife, Dorlyn, described as “a relaxing day” drinking champagne during “the best lunch,” according to the Times of London on Sunday. Just two hours after Weybourne went to a bar in...

A recent Washington Post essay faced backlash online after listing common Thanksgiving foods and their “climate impact” in order to inform readers which of the festivity’s staples can be consumed “with a clear conscience.” The Thursday article by food columnist Tamar Haspel, titled “The climate impact of the Thanksgiving meal might surprise you,” begins with the author admitting that “tallying the environmental impact of a holiday feast” does not seem to be in the holiday spirit. “I know, I know, nobody wants to put ‘climate’ and ‘Thanksgiving’ in the same sentence,” she continues.

People with long Covid suffer physical alterations to their brain, a study has shown. MRIs of patients still suffering with symptoms six months after the initial infection show clusters in parts of the brain linked to fatigue, headaches and cognition. These include areas in the frontal lobe and the brain stem. The Indian researchers behind the study say it is the first to show that Covid causes physical changes to the brain which last months. Other studies have found that the virus can also cause changes in other organs such as the heart and lungs. Long Covid is not a...

The Core Battle Within the Republican PartyNovember 21, 2022 | sundance | 258 CommentsAn inflection point is coming. In preparation for what we are about to witness, it is critical to understand that both the DNC and RNC are private corporations with no affiliation to government. It is a difficult shift in thinking to appropriately understand, but the party system in U.S. politics revolves around two clubs that feed from the same corporate trough and position for influence and affluence within a political dynamic they control. The priority for both clubs, Republican and Democrat, is NOT primarily ideological. In the modern era,...

www.dilbert.com has been down for over two days. So has the syndicate website gocomics.com. I believe that it is likely that Scott Adams' is targeted for cancellation because he is an effective voice against wokeness. He has been "cancelled" in 77 newspapers already, and his website may have been targeted for his content, in my opinion.

I just had a thought while reading about the shooting in Colorado. Where are the conservatives? As the years go by, we - fellow conservatives and Freepers - watch as liberals, progressives, socialists, and statists take over American institutions. School board, teachers inside the schools, AG's throughout the states, social media sites, orgranizations such as Ford Foundation, Nobel committees, inside sports organizations, inside big businesses, and so on. As these anti-American/Constitutional forces move in, where are the conservatives? Where do they go? What organizations do they belong to and/or control? Even on FR, you have voices that sound more anti-American/Constitutional...

The Brazilian Tutelary Council has begun removing the children of Brazilian election protesters from their parents’ custody. This comes after the National Council of Justice in Brazil issued an order to verify the condition of children involved in protests that have dominated the country following the election of far-left politician Lula da Silva. The order outlines a plan to identify protest points and inspect them for children. The Public Ministry, Guardianship Council, and auxiliary bodies have been assigned to “protect the children,” removing them from the protests and their parents’ custody when they deem necessary. In a move that many Brazilians...

During the last presidency, CNN hosts like Don Lemon routinely insisted Donald Trump was mentally unfit for office, and then would compare him to a six-year-old. On Monday's CNN This Morning, Lemon greeted Joe Biden's 80th birthday by lamenting anyone who would question President Biden's mental fitness as he turned 80 on Saturday. Lemon kvetched: "What about the respect for elders thing that we talk about? Because we treat, I think, our elderly people not -- we don't support them and honor them as much as other countries."Get the rest of the story and view the video here.

Mannequins used to practice life-saving CPR aren't diverse enough, doctors have claimed. Researchers want to ditch the reliance on default 'lean white male' models. Doing so will help overcome 'bias' among bystanders and help improve the survival of other groups, they say. This, the team claim, would be done by 'changing the perception of sudden cardiac death' — meaning people recognise it doesn't just happen to white men. Academics from Canada and Argentina found fewer than 10 per cent of mannequins used to promote CPR on social media represented black or Asian people. None were of pregnant women and barely...

Encouraged by the successful deployment of a Long-Range Acoustic Device (LRAD) for crowd control in Australia and Canada, US Secretary for Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas touted "its perfect fit for dealing with threats to our democracy. The sounds are invisible, inaudible and fully controllable in respect to target, direction and range. The sound waves can temporarily debilitate and sicken anti-government demonstrators when set at low intensity. At higher intensity it can scramble brains. Because these waves are undetectable the intended victims have no idea the weapon is being used on them until it's too late. It is the perfect stealth...

KUALA LUMPUR -- Never before in Malaysia has a small local party exerted such influence upon a federal election, in this instance bringing about a stalemate after Saturday's national polls. The Malaysian Islamic Party, or PAS as it is abbreviated in Malay, was not previously a key player in the country's race-based politics, although it had enjoyed some electoral success in rural Malay states in the east of the peninsular. On Saturday, Anwar Ibrahim's Hope Pact came out on top with 82 of the 220 lower house seats being contested. But PAS also emerged high in the rankings, securing 49...
