  • Low blood phosphate levels may be linked to neurological side effects from CAR T-cell therapy (Watch your phosphate level)

    10/20/2022 11:54:50 AM PDT · by ConservativeMind · 5 replies
Incidence and severity of neurological side effects from chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy were higher in patients who had hypophosphatemia (low blood phosphate levels). Neurological toxicity associated with CAR T-cell therapy, known as immune effector cell-associated neurotoxicity syndrome (ICANS), affects approximately 50% of recipients. Symptoms include confusion, delirium, aphasia, impaired motor skills, and somnolence. In severe cases, life-threatening events, including seizures and coma, can occur. The researchers co-cultured lymphoma cells expressing the CD19 antigen with CD19-targeted CAR T cells and found that lymphoma cell killing was associated with reduced phosphate concentrations in the culture media. Furthermore, CAR T cells...

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Pentagon will provide travel funds and support for troops and their dependents who seek abortions but are based in states where they are now illegal, according to a new department policy released Thursday.. The military will also increase privacy protections for those seeking care. The order issued by Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin outlines the rights and protections service members and their dependents will have regardless of where they are based, which was a key concern of troops after the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade in June. The new policy sets guidelines so that local commanders...

Worried about the COVID vaccine for your children or grandchildren? The only way you can stop it is to contact your state representatives and senators to ensure state law does not simply follow the CDC recommendations. Some states do just that, meaning the schoolchildren will be mandated to get the vaccine. Otherwise they cannot attend school. This applies to both public and private schools. Many say home school is the answer, but there are many out there who simply cannot do this due to finances, being a single parent or grandparent, having a child with special needs who needs in-school...

Trump ally Mehmet Oz is on course to win his Pennsylvania Senate battle against Democratic rival John Fetterman, according to new analysis. The Republicans are hoping to take both chambers of Congress at next month's election, allowing them to dramatically restrict the power of President Joe Biden. An analysis by Real Clear Politics (RCP), based on opinion polling adjusted to take account of past inaccuracies, projects Oz will win Pennsylvania by 1.9 percent of the vote. The calculation is drawn from an RCP produced average of recent polls, which puts Fetterman ahead by 3.2 points. However, the RCP calculated polling averages for...

Inmate Benjamin Cole was executed by the state of Oklahoma Thursday morning for the 2002 killing of his 9-month-old daughter. He was pronounced dead at 10.22am Central Time. The 57-year-old died by lethal injection. His attorneys had previously argued that Cole was mentally ill and not competent to be executed. Cole was diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia and, according to his attorneys, is 'incapacitated by his mental illness to the point of being essentially non-functional.' Attorneys for the state and members of the victim's family, however, have said that symptoms of Cole's mental illness are exaggerated and that the brutality of...

The ACIP voted to add the COVID-19 injections to the childhood schedule, which determines what vaccines a state mandates for children to attend school. Main stream media is pretending that states determine what vaccines are used, but the truth is that pediatricians use the CDC schedule and state public health officials use this schedule. State public health systems use the schedule to determine which vaccines to require for children to enter schools. Yes, some states have more stringent requirements than others. Some states allow for “opt-outs,” but in the end, most states follow the CDC guidelines. The ACIP functionally establishes...

Sometimes, you’ve just gotta dance. Drumming protesters crashed another town hall event hosted by far-left Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) Wednesday night, with the “Squad” member eventually bopping along to their rhythmic chants. Video of the protest in Queens showed demonstrators chanting “AOC has got to go” and holding up signs denouncing the 33-year-old congresswoman while a man with a hand drum pounds out a beat. The loud jeering and chanting left Ocasio-Cortez with nothing better to do than show off her moves while she sat on the edge of a stage. At one point, the lawmaker appeared to spot a...

The U.S. House committee investigating the January 6, 2021 riot at the U.S. Capitol made a big show of voting to subpoena former President Donald Trump last week — but it has not actually issued the subpoena, because it cannot actually identify Trump’s attorney. ABC News reported Wednesday: The Jan. 6 committee investigating the attack on the U.S. Capitol has yet to formally subpoena former President Donald Trump, in part because investigators are still trying to find someone authorized to accept service of it, sources familiar with the matter tell ABC News. … [M]ultiple lawyers representing Trump have told committee...

Doug Schoen is a well respected pollster and is also a Democrat. When he tells you a Republican is going to win, he is not cheerleading, he’s just being honest. In a new column written with Andrew Stein, Schoen is saying that this is going to be a wave election for Republicans. This confirms the findings of several other polling outfits which are now showing numbers trending to Republicans. Schoen and Stein write at the Wall Street Journal: Brace Yourself for a Republican Wave The Republican Party is on the cusp of a substantial midterm election victory that could rival...
  • Russia 'plans false flag attack on hydroelectric dam to FLOOD Kherson' in latest attack on energy plants as Ukraine brings in four-hour blackouts to tackle electricity shortages

Russia is laying the groundwork to destroy a key Ukrainian dam which would flood Kherson and cover its troops' retreat from the city, a think-tank has concluded. General Sergei Surovikin, Russia's new supreme commander in Ukraine, has spoken to Russian media in recent days about what he called a 'devastating strike' on the Nova Kakhovka dam which he said was being plotted by Kyiv's troops. Surovikin, who has also been preparing the Russian public for a retreat from the region, said the blast would flood Kherson and cause widespread damage. This is likely setting up for a 'false-flag attack' that...
  • New study finds no relationship between high intake of refined grain foods and risk of cardiovascular disease

    10/20/2022 11:18:37 AM PDT · by ConservativeMind · 21 replies
A study reveals that consuming high intakes of refined grain foods does not increase one's risk of cardiovascular disease (CVD), coronary heart disease, heart attack, heart failure, or stroke. Although refined grains are included as a component of the Western dietary pattern, the results of the meta-analyses suggest that refined grains do not contribute to the higher CVD risk associated with this unhealthy dietary pattern. The study demonstrated the lack of association between refined grain intake and CVD risk in meta-analyses of 17 prospective studies (including 877,462 participants) that restricted analyses to only staple grain foods (e.g., bread, cereal, pasta,...

Nearly 500 million people worldwide will develop diseases due to physical inactivity between 2020 and 2030, according to a new report from the World Health Organization (WHO). Unless action is taken to address the issue, half a billion people will develop heart disease, diabetes, obesity and other noncommunicable diseases during that period, the United Nations health agency concludes in its first-ever global status report on physical activity, published Wednesday. Looking at data from 194 countries, the WHO estimates that treating new cases of those diseases will cost the global community $27 billion annually for a total of $300 billion by...

A study on the potential for cross-contaminating kitchen surfaces with pathogens during food preparation has pointed to an unlikely culprit for spreading sickness: spice containers. Detailing findings, Donald Schaffner, concluded that when consumers are preparing meals, spice containers can easily become cross-contaminated with health-threatening microorganisms. Cross-contamination is the process by which microbes are transferred from one substance or object to another, often with harmful effects. The researchers found the most frequently contaminated objects were spice containers, with about 48 percent of the samples showing evidence of MS2 contamination. This prevalence of contamination was significantly different from many other surfaces sampled....

House Majority Whip Rep. James Clyburn (D-SC) said Thursday on MSNBC’s “José Díaz-Balart Reports” that he believes it would be foolish for Americans to vote based on inflation concerns rather than “voting rights.” Díaz-Balart asked, “Congressman, what do you say to people who say Washington can talk about all these big programs and everything else, but I’m worried about the cost of food? I’m seeing the cost of eggs shoot up, chicken, gasoline, you know, coming now with the winter heating. These are all concerns that hit very directly to people.” Clyburn said, “Well, let me make it very clear,...

The UM Rosenstiel School researchers used a state-of-the-art climate model to investigate a pattern of temperature change in a swath of water in the subpolar North Atlantic region, called a warming hole, that has been cooling over the past century. Scientists have considered this cooling a result of a slowdown of a planetary-scale ocean circulation, called the Atlantic meridional overturning circulation (AMOC), that transports energy to the North Atlantic. "However, our study shows the warming hole during the past century is unlikely due to a slowdown of the AMOC. Instead, the warming hole is actually a consequence of human driven...
