Paris (AFP) – Scientists on Monday welcomed the passing of US President Joe Biden's "historic" climate bill while calling for other major emitters -- namely the European Union -- to follow suit and implement ambitious plans to slash emissions. The bill, which would see an unprecedented $370 billion invested in cutting US emissions 40 percent by 2030, should provide a launchpad for green investment and kickstart a transition towards renewable energy in the world's largest emitter. Simon Lewis, professor of global chance science at University College London, said the US bill showed how lawmakers can advance climate legislation while responding...

Nearly 60% believe it will do nothing or drive inflation up. A dismal 12% of Americans believe that the gargantuan Democratic-sponsored "Inflation Reduction Act" will actually reduce inflation, according to a new poll released this week. The Economist/YouGov poll, which queried 1,500 U.S. adults, asked respondents their feelings on the $369 billion "Inflation Reduction Act" currently making its way through Congress this week. Just 12% of respondents said the bill would "decrease inflation," while 36% expressed a belief that it would actually increase it. Twenty-three percent said the bill would do nothing either way, while the remaining 29% were unsure....

By day, Bartosz Bruski works in computer forensics, but in his down time, the 29-year-old unwinds by heading to a trailer park outside Warsaw, where he directs a group of around 60 Polish people who pretend to be ordinary Americans – people from Ohio, to be exact. You might think LARPing (short for live action role play) basically means a bunch of people dressed in medieval outfits, recreating historical battles. Instead, Bartek and his fellow LARP enthusiasts turn a peaceful holiday resort in a Polish forest into an American trailer park, with dozens of participants who stay in character with...

VIDEOHow many times has the media labeled Stacey Abrams as an "Election Denier?" How about ZERO times despite the fact that Abrams vociferously denied the outcome of her 2018 loss in the Georgia gubernatorial campaign. Now that she is running for the same office again, you can be assured that the media will continue to be mum on labeling her a an "Election Denier." That label is reserved by the highly hypocritical media for MAGA candidates who insist on election integrity.

Barcelona (AFP) – With Europe gripped by successive heatwaves, climate-change deniers are spreading scepticism by publishing data on social media on extreme temperatures allegedly recorded decades ago to imply scientists are exaggerating global warming. But experts say the figures cited from the past are often incorrect or taken out of context -- and even if accurate do not change the fact that heatwaves are becoming more frequent and intense. The posts typically include heat records from almanacs or newspaper reports from the past, arguing that they are similar to the record highs set during this year's heatwaves in Europe. Climate...

spiral galaxies and distant galaxies are visible against the black void of space A small portion of deep space observed by JWST. NASA/STScI/CEERS/TACC/S. Finkelstein/M. Bagley/Z. Just a few days after the JWST's first images were beamed across the planet in July, Naidu and his collaborators...

“And Jesus knowing their thoughts said, ‘Why are you thinking evil in your hearts? Which is easier, to say, “Your sins are forgiven,” or to say, “Get up, and walk”? But so that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins . . .’” (Matthew 9:4–6). Because He is the Son of God, Jesus “did not need anyone to testify concerning man, for He Himself knew what was in man” (John 2:25). Christ knows all about every sin, even the unseen ones (cf. 1 Sam. 16:7; 1 Chron. 28:9), and stands firmly against...

How did we come to inhabit a society in which the government itself continually carries out psyops against the populace? As you read this, keep in mind that Biden has already tried to form his 'Ministry of Truth'. It's common knowledge that governments, including ours use propaganda on foreign soil. It helps win wars. This largely came about in 1948 with the Smith-Mundt act which prohibited our government from ever using such biased, misleading, if not downright untruthful messages on the American public. This is what formed the Voice of America and other venues. This movement toward propaganda is explained...

When somebody says, “I’m going to be a millionaire to prove that I’m worth something” and they actually manage it, that can be incredibly dangerous. Sometimes achieving our aspirations can be more difficult to overcome than grief or failure because then pride can enter into us. We start to think things like “Wow, I was looking for love, and I found it. I was looking for success, and I found it. I’m successful, loved and well-adjusted!” Pride enters into the picture and becomes a stronghold. There are people who can even become like that while they’re doing ‘good Christian’ works....

Photos of documents that former President Donald Trump flushed down a toilet at the White House have been released. New York Times reporter Maggie Haberman shared the photos with Axios and posted them to Twitter. “Trump denied flushing documents as president, as I learned during reporting last year for CONFIDENCE MAN. A Trump White House source recently provided PHOTOS of paper with Trump’s handwriting in two different toilets,” Haberman tweeted. She added, “On the left is a White House toilet, the word ‘qualified’ and a capital I visible. On the left, a toilet from a Trump trip overseas. ”In another...

A recession? Don’t tell that to the stock market. The major averages ended positive for the week. That came after the best month for the S&P 500 (^GSPC) since November 2020. Granted, the Nasdaq Composite (^IXIC) is still 20% down year-to-date, and the S&P 500 is 13% in the red. But the recent rally in the markets has some investors wondering if we're watching a turning point, and if it's safe to buy. In continuation of our series “What to do in a bear market,” Yahoo Finance asked the experts.

Bloomberg News co-founder Matthew Winkler came out with one of the dumbest explanations for why consumers believe President Joe Biden’s economy stinks: Blame those darn 2020 “election deniers.” Winkler published an op-ed for his liberal publication with an on-the-nose headline that smacked of lunacy: “Blame Election Deniers for Faltering Consumer Sentiment.” According to Winkler’s senseless conflation, it’s “no wonder” that Americans despise the 40-year high inflation-rattled economy when “about 70% of Republicans believ[ed] incorrectly that Joe Biden lost the 2020 presidential election when he won it by more than seven million votes.” According to Winkler, those pesky “Republicans denying the...

“You need to do this iPhone hack in case your phone gets stolen because mine did last night, and I actually got it back,” Katrina says. She adds that she learned the hack from @reviewingtech on Instagram. “First step go to Face ID and Passcode, you want to toggle off Control Center and USB Accessories,” Audrey explains. “Toggle on Location Services, Find my iPhone, and make sure to toggle on all three of these [she’s referring to Find my iPhone, Find my Network, and Send Last Location].” This process requires the user to sign into any other iOS device with...
