The Fox News analyst whose brother was fatally shot in Chicago last month told The Post that Monday’s mass parade shooting outside the Windy City is another example of “soft-on-crime” policies gone awry. Gianno Caldwell, whose 18-year-old brother, Christian Beamon, was slain by a gunman June 24, said he was trying to take his mind off his sibling’s still-unsolved slaying while at a beach in south Florida on Monday when he learned about the country’s latest mass killing. “The ‘defund the police’ mantra has become like a disease that’s spreading from the inner cities to suburbs everywhere,” Caldwell told The...

The 4th of July kicked off in Aptos with their annual "World's Shortest Parade." The parade started at the corner of Soquel Drive and State Park Drive and ended at Trout Gulch Road. This is the second event post-pandemic. The parade is only a half-mile long, but that didn't stop people from packing the streets of Aptos. The parade was established in 192 by the Aptos Ladies Evening Society before being taken over by the Aptos Chamber of Commerce.

If I speak with the tongues of mankind and of angels, but do not have love, I have become a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and know all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith so as to remove mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. And if I give away all my possessions to charity, and if I surrender my body so that I may glory, but do not have love, it does me no good. Love is patient, love is kind, it is not jealous;...

Chinese-Canadian billionaire Xiao Jianhua, who went missing in Hong Kong five years ago, was due to go on trial in China on Monday (Jul 4), the Canadian embassy in Beijing said. China-born Xiao, known to have links to China's Communist Party elite, has not been seen in public since 2017 after he was investigated amid a state-led conglomerate crackdown. The specifics of the probe haven't been disclosed by officials. "Global Affairs Canada, our home office, is aware that a trial in the case of Canadian citizen Mr Xiao Jianhua will take place today," a Canadian Embassy official told Reuters over...

A woke Universal Music Group worker claims he was fired for “speaking up” about abortion rights — after he admitted he refused to work because he was in “mourning” over the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade. Michael Lopez, a production coordinator at Universal Music Enterprises, blasted the company as “anti-gay” for terminating a “queer brown person” during Pride Month for “speaking up in defense of abortion rights,” according to a lengthy note on LinkedIn that went viral last week. “Last Friday, like countless other folks, I was devastated by the news of the supreme court’s [sic] attack...

A new poll shows a declining trend in pride in America. The Wisconsin Lt. Governor and Senate candidate says the founding of the country was "awful." Young Americans are pledging not to celebrate July 4. This is no surprise given the constant stream of trash talking from the Communists on the left. Mara Gay: "I saw, you know, dozens and dozens of pickup trucks with you know, expletives against Joe Biden on the back of them, Trump flags, and in some cases, just dozens of American flags, which you know is also just disturbing," Marc Lamont Hill "It’s not neutral...

A Russian journalist accused of posting 'sane people are for peace' about Vladimir Putin’s war in Ukraine has been locked in a Siberian clinical psychiatric hospital. Maria Ponomarenko, a 44-year-old mother of two, claims the authorities are seeking to gag her because of her opposition to the war. She is accused of spreading 'fake' news concerning Putin’s 'special military operation' in Ukraine. One comment seen as against the law by prosecutors said: 'It is impossible to remain silent, knowing about the death of thousands of innocent people.' Her 'fake' Telegram posts also included critical comments about the Russian bombing of...
  • 'Get the **** out of here': Squad member Ilhan Omar is booed by 10,000-strong Somali music festival crowd in her OWN district - days after she suggested Minnesota is worse than a refugee camp

Ilhan Omar smiled through a chorus of boos and jeers at a Somali music festival in her home state of Minnesota over Independence Day weekend. The squad member made an appearance at a concert featuring Somali singer Soldaan Seraar at the Target Center in Minneapolis on Saturday night, but a viral video shows that much of the crowd was not happy to see her. Some videos show people chanting 'get out!' at the congresswoman and telling her to 'get the **** out of here.' It is not immediately clear what prompted the boos, but a Newsweek article said that some...

Long ago, almost up until the end of the last ice age, a peculiar giant kangaroo roamed the mountainous rainforests of New Guinea. Now, research published by myself and colleagues suggests this kangaroo was not closely related to modern Australian kangaroos. Rather, it represents a previously unknown type of primitive kangaroo unique to New Guinea.Australia used to be home to all manner of giant animals called megafauna, until most of them went extinct about 40,000 years ago. These megafauna lived alongside animals we now consider characteristic of the Australian bush – kangaroos, koalas, crocodiles and the like – but many were...

Beverages—not including those in reusable cups—purchased in unincorporated Santa Cruz County now have a 25-cent fee tacked onto the priceStarting today, anyone purchasing a beverage in the unincorporated parts of Santa Cruz County—and who didn’t bring their own reusable cup—will notice a 25-cent fee tacked onto the price. That is due to the county’s new disposable cup fee, which was created to reduce the amount of single-use cups for hot and cold beverages going into landfills. Approved in November 2019, the fee was delayed during the Covid-19 pandemic to avoid adverse impacts on local businesses. “Santa Cruz County is a...

Katy Perry, Jessica Chastain and Kim and Kourtney Kardashian are among those not so eager to celebrate their country's independence this year now that the right to choose was stripped away for millions of women. Many stars have taken to social media to effectively 'cancel' Fourth of July 'due to a shortage of independence' in the wake of the Supreme Court's decision to overturn Roe v. Wade. Since SCOTUS reversed the ruling guaranteeing the right to an abortion, many celebrities have slammed the Supreme Court, speaking out on social media about the topic. Perry, whose song Firework is an unofficial...

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) returned from a visit to Turkey over the weekend saying he will do everything in his power to close a sale of F-16 fighter jets to Ankara. President Biden signalled his support for the weaponry sale to Turkey in a statement on Thursday, expressing optimism that Congress will pass this measure. Biden had met with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan the day prior, but shut down the notion that the proposed deal was a “quid pro quo” for Turkey supporting Finland and Sweden’s applications to join the NATO military alliance. In a Twitter thread on Sunday,...

2020 saw Black voters and candidates alike turn out in droves. From Sen. Raphael Warnock’s (D) successful campaign in Georgia to Jaime Harrison’s unsuccessful Senate campaign in South Carolina, it seemed Black voters and candidates were lining up on the left. But while the Democratic Party tends to have a lock on Black voters, that bloc is not a monolith. And Black Republicans are confident their ranks will continue growing ahead of the midterms and the 2024 presidential election. “So many Black Americans have been raised in a conservative way,” said Paris Dennard, national spokesperson and director of Black media...
