If I speak with the tongues of mankind and of angels, but do not have love, I have become a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and know all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith so as to remove mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. And if I give away all my possessions to charity, and if I surrender my body so that I may glory, but do not have love, it does me no good.

Mal 1:2 “I have always loved you,” says the LORD. But you retort, “Really? How have You loved us?”
Can you just hear the contempt in the people’s response?
“Go love someone else, doesn’t look like love to us.”
It does sound like clanging bells to most of the world.
Interesting passage concerning gifts of the Spirit... Some Christians believe that where the Bible states...
“9 For we know in part, and we prophesy in part. 10 But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.”
It is actually telling us that “when that which is perfect is come(they believe that this refers to the Bible itself), then that which is in part shall be done away(meaning the gifts of the Holy Spirit).
Another “fence” for believers to sit on one side of, or the other.
Are you are spiritually dead to God, and the things of God?
But after a while of endless drama, backstabbing, and oneupsmanship, at the end of a long day of “consequences” it is the only thing that makes any sense. Its also the way in which mighty Rome was conquered to become Christian
