Has anyone seen how many viewers the kangaroo committee actually had? It is interesting that searching for the numbers, nothing definitive comes up. Searching for any other TV event it is fairly easy to get numbers, like premiers, final episodes, Super Bowls, etc. Not so with this show. What are the real numbers?

The request was a few months too late. The Meet the Press Show on NBC reached out to Congressman Don Young’s press office to see if the congressman could be on the show on Friday, June 10. “We would love to have him on the program if his schedule allows,” the request read. It may have been an intern who made the ask for the show that is the longest-running television show in history. If so, oops. The communication director for Alaska congressional office for Alaska’s at-large seat took to Twitter to give his deadpanned answer: “Unfortunately, @chucktodd, I don’t...

A longtime staple of the Los Angeles community will close its doors next year, citing escalating costs to operate. The Farmer John meatpacking plant, located in Vernon for more than 90 years, is expected to cease all operations in the early part of 2023 as the parent company, Smithfield Foods, Inc., plans to move most of their business located on the West Coast to different regions. "Smithfield is taking these steps due to the escalating cost of doing business in California," a statement released early Friday morning said. They said that customers on the West Coast would still receive services...

The California Highway Patrol (CHP) refused on Thursday to release the body cam footage of Paul Pelosi’s DUI arrest because it could “jeopardize” the investigation. “The Public Records Unit (PRU) has determined the Department possesses records responsive to your request,” the CHP said in response to a query from Fox News. “However, the Napa County District Attorney’s Office has advised the release of records would jeopardize an ongoing investigation. As such, records are being withheld pursuant to Government Code section 6254 (f).”

Social Security has a problem. As Democrats push to expand entitlements to include free preschool and subsidized child care, little attention is getting paid to Social Security is a financial trainwreck. “The program’s payouts have exceeded revenue since 2010, but the recent past is nowhere near as grim as the future. According to the latest annual report by Social Security’s trustees, the gap between promised benefits and future payroll tax revenue has reached a staggering $59.8 trillion. That gap is $6.8 trillion larger than it was just one year earlier. The biggest driver of that move wasn’t Covid-19, but rather...

Tesla CEO Elon Musk shot down a claim from the CEO of One America News that he is interested in buying the far-right cable channel, a favorite of supporters of former President Trump. “We just received a call from somebody very close to @elonmusk telling us that he would like to talk to us about purchasing @OANN,” Robert Herring, the network’s CEO said in a tweet on Thursday. “Only Twitter,” Musk replied minutes later. Musk has earned headlines in recent weeks over a deal struck with Twitter to purchase the social media platform. The billionaire has often been critical of...

Donald Trump turned on his daughter Ivanka Trump after her testimony to the committee investigating the January 6th insurrection revealed she didn't think the 2020 presidential election was rigged. In a 17-second clip of her interview to the committee that was played during Thursday's primetime hearing, Ivanka backs up Trump Attorney General Bill Barr's assertion that the election wasn't stolen from her father. The former president said on Friday that Ivanka was 'not involved in looking' at the results of the 2020 election. 'Ivanka Trump was not involved in looking at, or studying, Election results. She had long since checked...

Last night’s J6 committee prime time scripted reality show featured an appearance by an officer injured in the Capitol Hill riot. No one celebrates Officer Caroline Edwards’ awful experience. After all, she wasn’t a cop executed, firebombed, nearly burned alive or assaulted by the ANTIFA/BLM army cheered and funded by the same Democrats putting on last night’s show. But we have to ask: Of all the officers involved that day, is Officer Edwards the one America needed to hear from?Actually, let’s hold that thought. Why Wasn’t Officer Edwards Asked Pertinent Questions?I’m bewildered by what Officer Edwards wasn’t asked.Did you think the...

U.S. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen said on Thursday she did not expect the U.S. economy to tip into a recession, but growth would "absolutely" slow down and gasoline prices were unlikely to fall anytime soon. "I don't think we're (going to) have a recession. Consumer spending is very strong. Investment spending is solid," she told a New York Times Dealbook event. "I know people are very upset and rightly so about inflation, but there's nothing to suggest that a ... recession is in the works." Yellen, who last week conceded she had been wrong about predicting inflation would be transitory,...

As I always teach my students, a 10 basis point increase (or decrease) in the 10-year Treasury is significant. Like today’s reaction to the hot, hot, hot inflation report. At 11:26am EST, the US Treasury 10-year yield rose 10.1 basis points to 3.142%. But much of Europe is rising over 10 bps today as well. Stocks? The NASDAQ index is down -3.30% on Fed tightening signals. The FTSE MIB (Italy) is down almost 5%. Commodities? WTI Crude oil is down -2% today. At least GOLD and SILVER are up today. Falling oil prices and rising precious metal prices are a...

Remember when The New York Times attempted to spin the 1970s stagflation crisis in order to protect former President Jimmy Carter’s political image before the 1980 elections? MRC Business does. The newspaper published a 1979 propaganda piece erroneously headlined, “The 70's: America Learns To Expect a Little Less,” The piece tried to paint lipstick on the pig of an economic disaster that Carter oversaw. Carter’s policies resulted in stagnant growth and a ridiculous annual inflation rate of 11.3 percent in 1979. “[D]espite the prospects of a recession next year, the economic reality is perhaps better than the psychology. Inflation in...

t’s the greatest political drama since the Watergate hearings. The committee that was formed to investigate the riot that led to the breach in security at the U.S. Capitol building by a semi-organized mob has created a prime-time extravaganza, carefully crafted by a Hollywood scriptwriter. It features a glittering cast of Democratic Party political characters with one goal in mind: to destroy the Republican Party. In truth, any effort to paint the clown-car conspiracy of Proud Boys/Oath Keepers as engaged in a “plot” to deny Joe Biden the presidency has already failed. The effort had apparently been penetrated by the...

January 6th Hearing (2022) Directed by Bennie Thompson Drama/Horror - R - 6h 39m The latest Democrat drama January 6th Hearing, the hotly anticipated sequel to Impeachment 2 and Mueller Report: The Reckoning, aired on TV screens for the first time last night, and I am happy to report that it met—nay, EXCEEDED—my wildest expectations. I am still shaking and soiling my trousers hours after the credits rolled—it really was that horrific.
