t’s the greatest political drama since the Watergate hearings. The committee that was formed to investigate the riot that led to the breach in security at the U.S. Capitol building by a semi-organized mob has created a prime-time extravaganza, carefully crafted by a Hollywood scriptwriter. It features a glittering cast of Democratic Party political characters with one goal in mind: to destroy the Republican Party.
In truth, any effort to paint the clown-car conspiracy of Proud Boys/Oath Keepers as engaged in a “plot” to deny Joe Biden the presidency has already failed. The effort had apparently been penetrated by the FBI and Lord knows how many other federal law enforcement agencies, not to mention the lack of wit and wisdom among the “plotters.”
They may have had a lot of guns lying around, so why didn’t they use them? The notion that these bozos could have held up a candy store much less overthrown the government of the United States is ludicrous on its face.
But that just won’t do for a prime-time TV show., There must be drama. There must be pathos. There must be suspense. There must be good guys, bad guys, and an evil genius who controls everything.
But there’s a reason these prime-time hearings won’t come anywhere near the TV viewership of the Watergate hearings. One-half of the country knows the hearings are an exercise in political partisanship. The other half didn’t want to switch channels from their favorite cooking/sports/fashion/comedy shows.
There just aren’t that many “persuadables” in their target audience. And that’s a problem Democrats aren’t dealing

Liz Cheney is “protecting democracy” by serving on a committee chaired by a man who believes her own father, Dick Cheney, and George W. Bush stole the election from John Kerry and John Edwards and who joined a challenge to the Electors by voting to block their certification.
What an absolute joke this is.
Difference is, there was no massive conservative press on the internet or Fox News or Tucker during Watergate. There is now.

Without bipartisan participation, this hearing should simply be a meeting, and held in secret. Like a grand jury, there is no opportunity for the “defense.” Just a political informercial only with the fake imprimatur of government service.

I want to see a poll of transmen, transwomen, furries, and all the other 57 genders to see what they think of the big show last night.
The Republican Party should demand of the legacy media organizations a block of one hour free prime-time in recompense for the free time given the Democrats for their show. If no response, bring a suit that will shiver the likes of Comcast and Disney.
Not over yet. The corrupt dems don’t want to lose in November, and will lie, cheat, steal and kill to stay in power.
Hopefully these threats strengthened their resolve to do what is right.

Maybe our (formerly) civil society should provide security for the USSC justices. We’re certainly not enforcing laws prohibiting protests outside their homes.

The J6 Committee CircleFest CrapShow isn’t going down any memory hole, any time soon. They’ll keep it around until the midterms, push the USAG for an indictment against Trump to destroy his chances in 2024.

Watergate was the most overblown scandal in the nation’s history. During a time of general lawlessness and civic unrest (most of it coming from the left) a few idiots in the White House got caught up in the intrigue, pulled their ridiculous stunt, and got caught. Then Nixon foolishly tried to cover it up. No one was injured or even died, yet the way the press covered it you’d think it was the start of World War III.
