The New York City Health Department is urging residents to put their face masks back on after a patient in the city tested positive for Orthopoxvirus, with officials waiting to confirm whether it is monkeypox. “Masks can protect against monkeypox, as well as other viruses circulating in New York City, such as COVID-19,” the health department said. “The Department continues to recommend masks in public indoor settings. As a precaution, any New Yorkers who experience flu-like illness with swelling of the lymph nodes and rashes on the face and body should contact their health care provider.” More info: https://t.co/Hpgu5m0xYL— nychealthy...

The Supreme Court issued opinions on Monday, and once again, the Court did not include a ruling in Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization, the highly-anticipated abortion case that could overrule Roe v. Wade. A leaked draft opinion by Justice Samuel Alito aimed to do just that, stating that "Roe and Casey must be overruled," referring to the original 1973 case that established a constitutional right to get an abortion, and 1992's Planned Parenthood v. Casey that upheld that right. Monday was the second time the Supreme Court released opinions since Politico published the leaked draft opinion. The leak sparked...

A new Spanish version of the Roman Catholic Bible is ditching the word "man" for "person." The Jerusalem Bible from publishing house Desclée de Brouwer updated the word used for "man" ("hombre") to "person" ("persona") in its latest Spanish edition. The move changes the iconic call of Jesus to His disciples to become "fishers of men" in Matthew 4:19 to the more gender-neutral "fishers of persons." In Greek, the word for "man" is "anthropos," which is used more than 500 times in the New Testament, including multiple instances where Jesus refers to Himself as the "Son of Man." Published in...

Today starts week two in United States v. Sussmann, Special Counsel John Durham’s false statement case against Michael Sussmann. Today starts week two in United States v. Sussmann, Special Counsel John Durham’s false statement case against Michael Sussmann. According to the grand jury indictment, Sussmann lied to former FBI General Counsel James Baker when he told Baker he was not acting on behalf of any client when he provided Baker with data supposedly establishing an Alfa Bank-Trump connection, when in fact Sussmann represented both the Hillary Clinton campaign and Rodney Joffe. After a brief interlude on Friday to accommodate the...

It seems like it was just yesterday that we were being screamed at for not wearing our COVID-19 masks on a plane or standing near but not directly atop the floor decal at the Piggly Wiggly, while watching loved ones die in a hospital via Zoom because Fauci decided we weren’t allowed to visit them. At last, Bat Flu season is over (until the midterms, anyway). Don’t look now, but there’s a monkey on our back. Belgium is the first nation to force people into quarantine over monkeypox, conveniently just in time for the World Health Organization (WHO) meeting at...

This is the shocking moment a United Airlines worker hits a passenger at the check-in desk before he is punched to the ground in a vicious brawl, leaving his face covered in blood. Footage shared online shows the employee and the holidaymaker trading punches in the ugly fight in front of horrified tourists at Newark Airport. The man in the black sweatshirt had approached the check-in desk pushing his luggage in a wheelchair. The uniformed United employee then confronted him over his use of the wheelchair, which quickly descended into a physical fight. Footage being shared does not show the...

The Yuma County Sheriff’s Office (YCSO) announced earlier this month that it is investigating “a recent pattern of fraudulent voter registration forms leading up to the 2022 Primary Election.” The inquest has arisen from the office’s current investigation of “cases of voting fraud from the 2020 General Election.” YCSO is working in conjunction with the Yuma County Recorder’s Office, which is formally documenting all the evidence the probe turns up. As of March, the YCSO says it had 16 open cases related to potential registration and/or voting fraud. No one can go back in time and undo the irregularities and...

Incumbent Ken Paxton-8 years in office. Shouldn't he move on to something else? George P's a Trump supporter who went against the entire Bush klan without disowning them. Too many here see him as the family scapegoat. He's been a loyal republican who didn't support Hillary. The left calls us all haters and I can see an element of it here. He'd do well at the job and the case can be made for a change based on party health alone.

President Joe Biden is confused again. Biden was in Buffalo, New York, exploiting murder by a mentally deranged man before his victims had even been buried. The president took the opportunity to call for a so-called federal “assault weapons” ban and outlaw magazines holding more than ten rounds. This proposed ban is the same type of ban that Bill Clinton passed when he was in office. It did not make us safer. Even the FBI admits that the previous assault weapons ban didn’t work. So why is Biden calling for laws that do not work? New York has the SAFE...

From sexual harassment accusations to some erratic behavior around his intent to purchase Twitter , some longtime fans of Tesla boss Elon Musk are wondering if he's as clever as he's previously seemed. Musk has built a massive social media following on his dedication to innovation, free speech, and voicing his opinions as loudly and consistently as possible, and has gained a legion of fanboys because of it. But while many believe Musk some kind of futuristic tech prophet, some Americans are becoming disillusioned with him these days. However, if Musk even feels down in the dumps about this and...

A farmer in Montgomery County, Maryland, is offering a reward of up to $50,000 to find the person who vandalized their farm equipment last month. on the night of April 21 and was spotted climbing on top of a tanker truck used for fertilizing fields. The next day, the farm’s owner found that the tanker had been contaminated with herbicide, but only after the farmer had used the truck to fertilize about 1,000 acres of corn.

An extraordinarily high percentage of the signs wielded by pro-abortion demonstrators are mind-bogglingly dumb and/or nonsensical. One of these inane sentiments (see below) has prompted me to write this post. That sign/sentiment? ”Guns have more rights than my vagina.” Really? Let’s examine the facts. First of all, it must be noted, the vast majority of gun owners don’t stick a penis in their gun’s barrel and climax in it. They do have to subject themselves to a thorough background check by the feds, answer more than a dozen probing questions, fill out a 2-page form, and hand over several hundred...

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is recommending that all domestic travelers undergo COVID-19 testing before and after they travel—regardless of vaccination status. In an update on the agency’s website, anyone traveling within the United States may want to consider “getting tested as close to the time of departure as possible,” and no more than three days before a flight. It previously only recommended testing for people who have not received COVID-19 vaccines or up-to-date booster shots. The CDC update is also recommending that people take a test before or after a trip if they went to crowded...

“‘“Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven”’” (Matthew 6:10). To understand God’s will rightly, we need an attitude of righteous rebellion. If we would pray that God accomplishes His will, we must reject the notion that sin is normal and therefore we must accept it. Instead we must righteously rebel against the world’s ungodliness, its unbelief of Jesus Christ, and believers’ disobedience. Not to do this is to abandon key biblical teachings and accept powerlessness in prayer. Jesus was not resigned to the spiritual status quo—He preached and acted against sin. When Jewish leaders profaned God’s...

Russian losses in Ukraine over the first three months are likely to have already surpassed those of the Soviet-Afghan war which lasted nine years, the UK Ministry of Defence has said. The Soviet Union's losses are estimated to be around 15,000 killed in the Afghan war, with an additional 35,478 wounded and 311 missing. 'The Russian public has, in the past, proven sensitive to casualties suffered during wars of choice,' said the UK government ministry, which did not name the exact figure. 'As casualties suffered in Ukraine continue to rise they will become more apparent, and public dissatisfaction with the...

A spokesman for former President Trump told The New York Times that former Vice President Mike Pence is “desperate to chase his lost relevance” amid rising tensions between the two former allies, who could clash for the Republican presidential nomination in 2024. In a Times article about Pence laying the groundwork for a potential 2024 bid, Trump spokesperson Taylor Budowich said the former Indiana governor was “set to lose a governor’s race in 2016 before he was plucked up and his political career was salvaged.”

Tuesday brings the next big batch of primaries, as voters head to the polls in Alabama, Arkansas and Georgia — plus we get a little bonus electoral action thanks to several runoffs in Texas and a special election in Minnesota. And thanks to former President Donald Trump’s attempt to dislodge multiple incumbents who refused to overturn the 2020 election, Georgia is the election on everyone’s mind this week, but there are even more races of note in the other four states — 11, to be exact. Here’s the lowdown on each of them.
