That Kamala Harris is a big liability to the Biden administration at this point in her tenure as Vice President is something that appears even the White House itself is tacitly acknowledging if recent reports detailing the backroads places they’re having her travel to in the coming weeks are a reliable indicator. The reasons she’s become a hindrance more than a help to this administration have been documented extensively here, including most notably her failure at making any meaningful progress in determining the “root causes” of the southern border crisis, an assignment given to her by President Biden over a...

Based on my penname "Deaf and Delirious", most readers will probably - and correctly - assume I am hearing impaired. I've been wearing hearing aids since my teenage years. My hearing loss ranges between 80 - 90 dB bilaterally (both ears) and described as "severe hearing loss" level. At this level, without my hearing aids, I cannot hear speech at all when a person is talking to me at a normal level (60 B). But I can hear some loud sounds, like my lawn mower (90 dB) or my circular saw (100 dB). I also experience tinnitus daily. When someone...

A major fire broke out today in a secretive Russian military research center, killing several people, injuring others, and leaving significant damage in its wake. The facility in Tver, 120 miles northwest of Moscow, is responsible for diverse research focused on air defense, but reportedly crosses over between the fields of both space and the military. Most notably, it reportedly studies stealth technologies — and, above all, counters to use against them. Local media reports on the fire at the Central Scientific Research Institute of the Aerospace Defense Troops, or TSNII VVKO, in the center of Tver, do not provide...

Arizona’s high court has pulled a ballot question from the November election that could have erased the state’s largest-ever income tax cut. The Arizona Supreme Court ruled Thursday that a veto initiative to repeal a gradual change from Arizona’s progressive income tax to a flat 2.5% wasn’t appropriate for the ballot process. The court didn’t immediately offer an analysis of the opinion. Lawyers representing the Arizona Free Enterprise Club (AFEC), a taxpayer advocating nonprofit, argued before the court that the state’s constitution bans government functions such as tax cuts from being challenged at the ballot box. Passed in 2021, the...
