"Curiously enough, today the West and Russia have switched roles. Russia supports the values that had been considered 'western' — the role of the Christian Church, autonomy of the traditional family, and cultural diversity. All these have become secondary in the West. They are only valued as long as they do not contradict liberal dogmas.”In his recent essay, Vakhtang Kipshidze, Deputy Chairman of the Synodal Department for the Russian Orthodox Church's Relations with Society and Mass Media, deliberates on the drastic change in the system of traditional Western values. We are publishing excerpts from the piece. “In his sermon on...

A Canadian church has hosted an assisted suicide ceremony for one of its members.. The Churchill Park United Church of Winnipeg held what it described as a “Crossing Over Ceremony” in which an 86 year old, Betty Sanguin, ended her life through an assisted suicide in the church sanctuary. Minister of Churchill Park, Rev. Dawn Rolke, said that it “seemed appropriate” to hold the ceremony in the sanctuary, as churches are often “host and home to all the raggedness of our lives and to some of our significant life rituals: baptism, marriage, ordination, funeral or memorial services”. “For us, it...

SÃO PAULO – An appearance by Cardinal Orani Tempesta of Rio de Janeiro at a ceremony with President Jair Bolsonaro last week, as the country prepares to enter the campaign for the 2022 presidential election, has caused controversy in Brazil. Tempesta, Bolsonaro, and other authorities met at the Christ the Redeemer Sanctuary to sign a cooperation agreement in which the federal government increased the church’s autonomy in managing the site. The monument belongs to the Archdiocese of Rio de Janeiro but is located in a federal forest reserve. Over the past few years, there have been numerous clashes with the...

President Joe Biden has knowingly released 756,000 migrants encountered at the border, another 146,000 illegal youths to guardians inside the United States, and an estimated 620,000 “got-aways.” Each is here indefinitely, and most forever. That is unsustainable — but the president has no plan to stop it anytime soon,” wrote Arthur. “This is not ‘open borders,’ or ‘catch and release,’” Arthur wrote. “It is ‘no border’ WITH TRAVEL ASSISTENCE.

Islamic extremists raided the village of Masambo in the northeastern province of North Kivu in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) on April 3, the Barnabas Fund reported Thursday. The raid by jihadists from the Allied Democratic Forces (ADF), a group allied to the Islamic State, is just one episode in a flood of Islamist violence across North Kivu and its neighboring province of Ituri, Barnabas noted in an email Tuesday. “It is a miracle I survived,” said Masambo resident Kakule Saanane. “We were already in bed when we heard the sound of boots outside and bullets. It was...

Half of nurses in the U.S. are now battling against violence on wards, one of the largest nursing unions in the country said today. In its bi-annual survey, National Nurses United found more than 48 per cent of nurses said they were facing a small or significant spike in violence at work. This was more than double the 21 per cent that said there were more assaults in their hospitals in March last year. Cases included patients spitting on nurses after being told they had tested positive for COVID-19, and scratching, hitting or even threatening healthcare workers with firearms. Hospitals...

The Interior Department said in a news release that it will make available 144,000 acres, an 80% reduction from the acreage originally nominated. It will also begin charging companies royalties of 18.75%, up from 12.5%. The move brings the administration into compliance with a court order but comes as President Joe Biden has sought to encourage domestic production of oil and gas to tame soaring energy prices, especially gas prices above $4 a gallon, that have cut into support for his party before the'Midterm Elections'. The Interior Department's announcement Friday said the BLM will issue final environmental assessments and sale...

The world has gone completely nuts and now even Republican Marco Rubio is drafting legislation to sanction China. Biden’s sanctions have totally destroyed the world economy, bringing globalization and world peace to an abrupt end. I have written to Marco Rubio in response to his Tweet, but I seriously doubt he will ever respond. “I realize that the chances of this ever being answered are minus zero. I will nonetheless publish this on ArmstrongEconomics.COM. I have advised nations and I have testified before the House Ways & Means Committee. These sanctions on Russia have already destroyed the world economy ending...

This morning Elon Musk sent Twitter’s Board an offer to buy the entire company for $40B+. As I wrote last week, anything that explicitly has the aim of bringing more free speech to the internet for more people is a good thing. Twitter has legacy problems that Gab doesn’t. They are fully dependent on third-party infrastructure. We are not. We “built our own,” everything. Hosting, email services, analytics tools, ecommerce, payment processing, all of it. We built it all.You also have to consider that bringing free speech to Twitter isn’t as simple as buying it. Apple and Google do not...

Incredible new video has emerged of police officers allowing protesters into the Upper West Terrace Doors of the United States Capitol on January 6th, 2021. A source exclusively released this footage to The Gateway Pundit. It is a tightly edited video meant to be presented in court to defend two men currently facing felony charges for obstruction of and Official Proceeding on January 6th. This video was originally obtained from the United States Department of Justice after the media joined a motion to have it released. It has gone largely under the radar until it was put into context...

The fact that prominent media outlets such as The Atlantic and CNN are enlisting Obama’s help, without a hint of irony but with a straight face, evinces everything that is wrong with the news industry. Obama appeared last week at The Atlantic’s conference on "Disinformation and the Erosion of Democracy." Sounds pretty serious. While speaking about the dangers and harm of disinformation campaigns, Obama defined it as "a systematic effort to either promote false information, to suppress true information, for the purpose of political gain, financial gain, enhancing power, suppressing others, targeting those you don't like." That’s a pretty good...

During an interview with “Pod Save America” on Thursday released on Friday, White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki stated that canceling student loan debt is “on the table” and high costs are “an important thing to consider. That’s a big part of the consideration.” Psaki responded to a question [relevant exchange begins around 1:00:55] on whether taking executive action on student loan debt cancelation is still on the table by stating, “Yes, still on the table. … So, as you said, it ends August 31. We have to then decide whether it’s extended and what you look at is, even...

A fertilizer supply shock is imminent for US farmers as CF Industries Holdings, Inc. warned Thursday that rail shipments of crop nutrients would be reduced to top agricultural states, which couldn’t come at the worst time as the Northern Hemisphere spring planting season is underway. The world’s largest fertilizer company said Union Pacific had hit it with railroad-mandated shipping reductions that would impact nitrogen fertilizers such as urea and urea ammonium nitrate shipments to Iowa, Illinois, Kansas, Nebraska, Texas, and California. Union Pacific told CF Industries without advance notice to reduce the volume of private cars on its railroad immediately....

It is amazing how visual the Gospel of the Passion is. “Look!” you are told, again and again. “Behold the Lamb of God.” “Behold the Man.” “Behold your King.” “Like this,” St. John will describe, as though you could actually see some gesture he is making while he preaches. No one has ever seen God at any time, but now the Incarnate Son, who resides in the bosom of the Father, He reveals God to us. For the Word of God, who is God, by whom all things are made — He has become Flesh. In Him God tabernacles among...

There was a time not too long ago when young and otherwise healthy athletes weren’t dying from heart attacks regularly. Those days were before the Covid-19 “vaccines” were rolled out. Now, it seems like I’m posting a few stories every week highlighting the latest possible victim of adverse reactions to the jabs. Unfortunately, very few others are doing the same. Corporate media ignores it literally every single time another athlete “inexplicably” dies. Even most in conservative media pretend like there’s nothing to see here, though there are some noteworthy exceptions and we link to them regularly at The Liberty...

Texas Democratic gubernatorial candidate Beto O’Rourke said Friday on MSNBC’s “The ReidOut” that Gov. Greg Abbott (R-TX) was pursuing a “war on women,” which is “very bad for Texas.” Host Joy Reid said, “The Texas woman charged with murder after abortion, the charges were dropped. But it exposes the lie these anti-abortion forces don’t mean to punish women. Is that getting through when you’re talking with female voters, Texas women, how much danger they’re in because of these laws like the anti-abortion law in Texas?”

Free Beacon analysis shows how homicide coverage downplays the race of minority offenders Frank James, the man arrested for Tuesday's New York City subway shooting, is a black nationalist and outspoken racist who railed against whites, Jews, and Hispanics. A careful reader of the New York Times could be forgiven for overlooking that. In a nearly 2,000-word article on the attack, James's race is not mentioned. The same is true for the coverage offered up by Reuters; the Washington Post only mentioned James's race in relation to his condemnation of training programs for "low-income Black youths." Media critics on the...
