The Russian invasion of Ukraine could be “devastating” for tuberculosis control in eastern Europe, and will cause a “terrible public health tragedy”, Dr Anthony Fauci has warned. Ukraine reports roughly 30,000 new TB cases annually and has one of the highest rates of multidrug-resistant TB in the world. According to the World Health Organization estimates, Ukraine has the fourth highest TB incidence rate among the 53 countries of the WHO European Region. “[The war] could be devastating, quite frankly,” Dr Fauci, the chief medical officer of the United States, told The Telegraph in an exclusive interview. “As a public health...

Like other Saudi women, Fahda Fahd couldn't legally drive until 2018, but her lime-green Kia is now a route to extra cash as living costs rise in the conservative kingdom. When she's not working full time at a healthcare call centre, the 54-year-old picks up fares in the capital Riyadh from a ride-hailing app exclusively for women. Fahd said her family was supportive of her second job, on two conditions: no long trips or men as passengers. "I decided to work as a taxi driver to earn extra income," said Fahd, wearing a black head covering and an anti-coronavirus face...

In an email obtained by reporters on Wednesday, the U.S. Department of Defense assigned the same Georgia Tech researcher involved in the Alfa Bank hoax to investigate the “origins” of the DNC hacker. Similarly, prosecutors are concerned about the decision to include the Georgia Tech researcher in the DOD’s investigation, and the special counsel’s office is investigating the investigation into the DNC hack. In court filings, the special counsel called this person “Researcher-1.”. His attorney has since confirmed that the person is Manos Antonakakis from Georgia Tech. After former Hillary Clinton campaign attorney Michael Sussmann was indicted by Special Counsel...

Pink Floyd are removing the later era of their catalog from digital music services in Russia and Belarus. "To stand with the world in strongly condemning Russia's invasion of Ukraine, the works of Pink Floyd, from 1987 onwards, and all of David Gilmour's solo recordings are being removed from all digital music providers in Russia and Belarus from today," the band tweeted Friday. The three affected Pink Floyd were released after the exit of co-founding bassist Roger Waters: 1987’s A Momentary Lapse of Reason, 1994’s The Division Bell and 2014’s The Endless River. Gilmour has released four solo records: 1978’s...

“Oddly, this year, not a single speaker or session focused on abortion. Not one on the threat to women’s sports Not one on religious liberty Not one on family, marriage, sex trafficking, pornography, etc.” The news comes as an interview with Schlapp – currently under fire for accepting $183,250 from a Soros-linked left wing fund – has emerged showing him admitting to shutting down any potential pro-life events at the conference. On Wednesday morning, Schlapp took to Real America’s Voice to protest that the money he receives from the left has no bearing on the content of his conference. But...

Tuesday was an unsatisfactory day at the Special Criminal Court in Paris, where those suspected of involvement in the November 2015 terrorist attacks are being tried. The Belgian police investigation has never identified the source of the weapons used in the killings. It was hoped that Tuesday's three Dutch witnesses might provide some clarity. They did not. There were technical problems, legal problems, language problems. Prison 'friction' First of all, there were two prisoners missing from the ranks of the accused. We've become used to the absence of Osama Krayem, who has been boycotting the trial since November. On Tuesday,...

Comedy legend John Cleese had his microphone confiscated at the South by Southwest festival during a comedic discussion in which he suggested Italy and France owed historic reparations for enslaving Brits. The Monty Python icon, 82, was riffing with other comics in front of the crowd in Texas when he talked about the 'competition' between cultures over who has been more oppressed by colonisations throughout history. Pointing to world history being 'a history of crime', he added: 'It's a history of people who were stronger beating up people who were weaker and it's always been that. It's deeply, deeply distasteful....

Dick Schermerhorn said he is feeling pretty good at 100 years old. The World War II veteran's family, including five of his children, 12 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren came together from all over the country for the big day. "It's great. The great part about it is you have a family that's willing to do this for you," said Dick Schermerhorn. Some of his military medals and patches were on full display inside the celebration, even sand from Normandy Beach where he landed during the D-Day invasion sat on a table. He said he went on to join another...

Wang Guan, a World Economic Forum (WEF) young global leader, is pushing for those who resist Klaus Schwab’s planned “Great Reset” to be thrown into communist China-style “reeducation camps.” Similar to the ones where Uyghur Muslims are forced to live in China’s Xinjiang province, Wang’s reeducation camps would be filled with people who support things like freedom, nationalism and the right to bear arms. Wang currently works as a chief political correspondent for a Chinese state-run media out that airs programming specifically for the United States. He is one of 112 young global leaders who was personally selected by Schwab...

On March 4, my colleagues and I decided to publish for the first time a letter from our source, who, judging by the letters, is serving in one of the analytical units of the special services. We sincerely hoped that this publicity would draw attention to the war in Ukraine and the ongoing events and would allow the war to be stopped sooner. But we could not imagine that this letter and this publication would attract such attention around the world. We decided to continue publishing data from our source and we believe that this will give the world new...

With the elites poking at the Russian bear and trying to get us into World War III but in a way where they think none of us gets hurt, we are now facing food shortages. That could mean possible monthly grocery costs rising by $1,000. It’s the beginning of crop planting time. Crops need fertilizer. And through the brilliant mechanisms of globalism, guess where we get a lot of our fertilizer? Russia. They provide two-thirds of the world’s supply. And they’re temporarily shutting down their fertilizer exports. So there’s one more log being added to the out-of-control inflation fire. “We’re...

New rules announced late Thursday by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) reverse the agency’s previous requirements for cars to pass crash standards. The NHTSA said the updated regulations were meant to amend “wording that has or will become obsolete as applied to new design,” while still retaining comparable safety standards. Previous rules presumed vehicles would come equipped with a driver’s seat, steering wheel, and an accompanying steering column, however, the emergence of new classes of vehicles built specifically with automation in mind make these controls “logically unnecessary,” according to the NHTSA. The new standards could pave the way...

Yesterday, engineers and technicians at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida drove Crawler Transporter-2, which will carry NASA’s Moon rocket to the launch pad, to the doors of the Vehicle Assembly Building (VAB). Technicians will finish up preparations to transport the rocket traveling at a top speed of 1 mph to Launch Complex 39B for a wet dress rehearsal test ahead of the Artemis I launch. This week, the Kennedy team also completed painting the...

"On Thursday morning, I was sitting at breakfast with my husband when I started having stroke like symptoms and was taken to the hospital," she wrote. "They found I had suffered a very small blood clot to my brain, which caused a small lack of oxygen, but my body had passed it on its own and I recovered completely within a few hours. Although this was definitely one of the scariest moments I've ever been through, I'm home now and doing well, and I'm so grateful and thankful to all the amazing doctors and nurses who took care of me!"

A massive homeless encampment in downtown Phoenix, Arizona, known as the "Zone," raises eyebrows as the shelter's population swells to more than 900 people. The Zone is located on 9th Avenue, Jackson Street, 13th Avenue, and Jefferson Street in Phoenix, down the street from the Arizona State Capitol complex. Vice News points out, "the camp more than doubling in size over two years may be a testament to how bad Phoenix's housing crisis has become." "People say, 'Are you surprised?' And I say, 'No, not really, because all of the housing forces in Phoenix and Maricopa County have been working...
