The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission will now consider how pipelines and related natural gas projects affect climate change and environmental justice communities, the commission ruled in a 3-to-2 vote on Thursday. The ruling marks the first time that FERC, an independent agency that regulates the interstate transmission of electricity, oil, and natural gas, has updated its policy for reviewing gas projects since 1999. Environmental advocates hailed the move, saying it will provide a crucial new avenue for blocking new fossil fuel infrastructure and staving off the worst effects of the climate crisis. But conservatives and industry groups slammed the decision,...

The House of Commons and Senate will not meet to debate Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's invocation of the Emergencies Act on Friday due to expected "police operations" in response to the freedom convoy. The presence of the truckers' freedom convoy in Ottawa was the reason Trudeau engage the Act in the first place. A letter from Speaker Anthony Rota announced the cancellation. The House of Commons "will not sit today," he wrote. "A police operation is expected in the downtown core of Ottawa. Given these exceptional circumstances, and following discussion with all recognized party leadership, the sitting today is cancelled."

The violent crime plaguing the Democrat-controlled Black communities is nothing new. For over two hundred years, violence has been a mechanism of control wielded against Black Americans by Democrat party leadership. It is a historical fact that the Democrat party was the party of slavery, secession, segregation, and now socialism. And whether it was the whip, the branding iron, rape, castration, or murder, they have always applied violence as the primary tool to compel Black obedience. But it is put into maximum overdrive whenever White Democrat leadership feel that their Blacks are getting a little too uppity. From the fifty...

… Military vehicles, along with the forces that use them and the industries that supply them, represent a huge climate problem, accounting for 5% of the world’s carbon emissions every year. And there’s no bigger actor in that space than the U.S. military, which sucks up more petroleum than any other institution on earth to fly jets, heat buildings, and ferry food and supplies to 750 bases spread across the world. That might be changing, though. The Department of Defense (DOD) has embarked on a decarbonization push in recent months, claiming to be in the process of building a greener...

Democrats in Congress have proposed a plan that would declare an unconditional "war" on "racism," and fund it with $70 billion for a new, Cabinet-level "Department of Reconciliation." The National Pulse has posted online an image of the proposed resolution that is being supported by a couple dozen Democrats already. A summary explains the plan is to be "declaring unconditional war on racism and invidious discrimination and providing for the establish of a Cabinet-level Department of Reconciliation charged with eliminating racism and invidious discrimination." The plan likens itself to President Lyndon Johnson's "war on poverty," a move that over the...

A week ago the government announced that the consumer price index rose 7.5% from a year ago, marking the fastest increase since February 1982 (which was a very bad year in case you don’t remember). Yesterday Biden went to Ohio where he touted his “growing” economy – if by “growing” he means inflation. In the same visit he proposed $1 billion in funding for a “greening” clean up of the Great Lakes. Now, it’s hard to be opposed to cleaning up the Great Lakes, but timing-wise one might question the need to do so while inflation is running unchecked. Even...

Surprise! US existing home sales in January rose to 6.50 million units SAAR versus the expected 6.10 million units. That is a 6.7% increase over December. Despite the Fed’s massive stimulus that they allegedly will take away. Median price of existing home sales rose to 15.4% YoY. Making homes affordable should NOT be a slogan for The Federal Reserve, the Biden Administration or Congress. The massive Federal stimulypto (fiscal...

Shipping in the area was warned that the 650-foot-long Felicity Ace was adrift near Portugal's Azores Islands after the crew were taken off on Wednesday, Portuguese navy spokesman Commander José Sousa Luís said. Two California lawmakers have proposed removing the word “squaw,” a slur against Native American women, from all geographic features and place names in the state. Assembly Bill 2022, introduced by Assemblyman James Ramos, D-Highland, and Assemblywoman Cristina Garcia, D-Bell Gardens, would go into effect on Jan. 1, 2024. Ramos said the word is an idiom that came into use during the westward expansion of America, and is not a tribal word. “AB 2022 would ban the use of the S-word and establish a process for renaming locations with that offensive racial and sexist term which began as derogatory word used...

The Jewish state’s dream of warm peace with its Arab neighbors has eluded it for more than 72 years. In September 2020, President Donald Trump helped engineer the Abraham Accords between Israel, Bahrain, and the United Arab Emirates. The very treaty signing on the White House lawn projected human warmth, and signaled a warm peace. Subsequently, Sudan and Morocco joined the normalization of relations with Israel. It is true that peace, as opposed to war, came much earlier than September 2020. Israel signed a peace treaty with Egypt in 1979 and with Jordan in 1994. These peace treaties, however,...

Greek rescue forces are desperately trying to save two people trapped onboard a stricken ferry amid fears that 14 passengers were missing nearly eight hours after the ship burst into flames. A Super Puma helicopter had attempted several times to approach the Euroferry Olympia, an Italian liner en route to Brindisi, when the fire broke out at around 4am. Four lifeboats carrying an estimated 279 people had meanwhile headed for the Ionian island of Corfu, where authorities were hoping to match arrivals with the passenger list assembled by crew. By midday, Hellenic navy ships, and at least three coastguard vessels,...
