Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) slammed the Biden administration’s “illegal” vaccine-or-test mandate for large employers on the Senate floor Wednesday as Republicans prepared to force a vote on a resolution to overturn the directive. In his remarks, McConnell praised COVID-19 vaccines as “modern medical miracles” and noted that he had received a booster shot. “I’ve encouraged Kentuckians and all Americans to take full advantage,” he said. “I’ve recorded public service announcements, I am a survivor of childhood polio, I’ve watched vaccines obliterate polio in our country in my entire lifetime. Trust me, there is no bigger proponent of vaccination...

By almost any standard, especially mine, the tweet did remarkably well, reaching hundreds of thousands of people and garnering hundreds of responses. And particularly interesting was the fact that it did so without being retweeted by any major accounts, at least as far as I could tell. That especially means that the issue, and the framing above, strongly resonated with people who are passionate enough about it to interact in some way.

Georgia gubernatorial candidate and former Sen. David Perdue (R) said on Wednesday that he would not have certified Georgia's 2020 presidential election results. "Not with the information that was available at the time and not with the information that has come out now. They had plenty of time to investigate this. And I wouldn’t have signed it until those things had been investigated and that’s all we were asking for," Perdue told Axios. He added if he had been governor at the time, he would have called for a special session of the state legislature to "protect and fix what...

We are at a time and place in late 2021 where it literally has become acceptable to ponder the exclusion of a specific race of people from a college party. That is, if the race is white. A student at Swarthmore College last week penned an entire op-ed on this topic as a situation arose which — allegedly — warranted the ejection of Caucasians at the small, private institution near Philadelphia. In The Phoenix, economics major Sameer Halepoto points to a pre-Thanksgiving party hosted by the Swarthmore Queer Union, Swarthmore African Student Association, Swarthmore ENLACE, and the Swarthmore African-American Student...

As has been widely reported in the last few days, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen has publicly called for the repeal of the Nuremberg Code (Mark Steyn’s commentary on the topic is particularly trenchant). The Code was established after World War Two to address the issue of medical experiments conducted on human beings without their consent. It has been violated by Western countries in the years since, notably by the CIA with its MKUltra program, but that was secret and unofficial — no country has so far publicly abrogated the Nuremberg Code. Ms. Von der Leyen appears to...

New Zealand’s authoritarian Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern has said that the country’s COVID shot program will have no end, warning that “so long as there’s people who are eligible who haven’t been vaccinated, we’ve got work to do.”In an interview Tuesday with New Zealand network Newshub, Ardern characterized the experimental COVID shots as a “really important” measure “to protect our people” and thus declared that “there’s not going to be an endpoint to this vaccination program.”Speaking specifically about New Zealand’s native Maori population, Ardern noted that some 83 percent have taken the first shot. This high uptake, however, has proved...

Governor Gavin Newsom (D-CA) said Wednesday on ABC’s “The View” that Fox News was playing politics by covering the recent increase of smash-and-grab robberies plaguing California. Co-host Joy Behar said, “California is seeing a wave of smash-and-grab robberies, where mobs ransack retail stores. Your own business has been robbed multiple times in the past year. You have a couple of wine stores, I understand. Critics in law enforcement blame this on your lax bail and theft policies emboldening criminals. Here is your chance to tell us.”

Not a single CNN viewer was misled by Chris Cuomo's activities on behalf of his brother. Everyone knew he was a loyal brother first, and that he would put his love for his brother before any commitment to objectively — as if CNN ever has such a commitment when it comes to politics. Anyone who watched the ''Chris-Andy'' love fest ''interviews'' would have expected about as much objectivity as Bobby Kennedy had when he was John Kennedy's attorney general. CNN viewers got exactly what Jeff Zucker, the boss, wanted them to get: an intimate, insider look into the Cuomo brothers...

Rep. Dan Crenshaw took aim at some of his Republican colleagues last weekend, labeling members of the conservative House Freedom Caucus “performance artists” and “grifters.” During an event hosted by the Texas Liberty Alliance PAC, Crenshaw (R-Texas) theorized that there are two types of lawmakers. “There’s performance artists, and there’s legislators,” he said, according to footage that circulated on Twitter. “Performance artists are the ones who get all of the attention, the ones you think are more conservative because they know how to say slogans real well,” Crenshaw explained. “They know how to recite the lines that they know our...

A woman suspects she’s being tracked after noticing a number of weird messages on her phone. TikTok user @angel.edge95 shared her theory in a post that has since received 2.5 million likes. “I think I’m being tracked,” she said. “The more I post about it, it seems like it’s happening to a lot of people. I don’t know if I’m in danger.” The user explained that she flew from her Texas home to Maine, and shortly after arriving at the airport, she received an odd message. Her phone detected an “unknown accessory” near her, presumably an Apple AirTag. She was...

National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases director Dr. Anthony Fauci said Wednesday on CNN’s “At This Hour” that it was a matter of “when not if” the definition of fully vaccinated will change to include a third booster shot. Bolduan said, “Pfizer’s chief scientific officer said this morning on CNN that he thinks fully vaccinated against Omicron, it means three doses. Do you think the definition of fully vaccinated should now change?” AD Fauci said, “Well, you know, as you say, it’s a technical, almost semantic definition. And it is the definition for requirements if someone says, are you...

WARSAW, Poland (AP) — Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki on Monday defended a recent meeting of European populist leaders by saying Poland is seeking allies in its challenge of what he called a “centralized Europe.” Morawiecki was reacting to criticism of the meeting hosted Saturday in Warsaw by Poland’s ruling conservative Law and Justice party. Far-right politicians including Marine Le Pen of France and Santiago Abascal of Spain’s Vox party were among the participants. Referring to tensions between the nationalist Polish government and the European Union in Brussels, which says some of the Polish government’s policies violate the rules of...

U.S.—Progressives and conservatives alike were concerned after it was revealed that there is an evil, giant corporation that is literally murdering, imprisoning, and oppressing millions of people all around the world. The corporation is run by corrupt people, accountable to no one, makes trillions of dollars every year, and continues to enrich its wealthy elite shareholders by exploiting the poor and the middle class. Even worse, it was discovered that this corporation has a monopoly. Everyone agreed that it's well past time to keep this evil corporation accountable and that it should be broken up to prevent future oppression by...
