LATEST Feb. 18, 12:45 p.m. The CEO of California’s High-Speed Rail Authority is on voluntary leave after an arrest earlier this month at his Sacramento-area home, multiple outlets reported.
Politico and the Los Angeles Times both reported that the rail authority confirmed Ian Choudri’s leave. The rail authority did not respond to SFGATE’s inquiry.
“While CEO Choudri has informed the California High-Speed Rail Authority Board that he is not aware of any evidence of wrongdoing, he has voluntarily agreed to take a temporary leave to allow the Board and our parent agency, the California State Transportation Agency, to fully review and assess the situation,” rail authority spokesperson Peter Whippy told Politico. “We are taking this matter seriously, consistent with our longstanding commitment to public responsibility, transparency, and accountability.”

Oh dear. That’s embarrassing.
I could not possibly recall how many times that the thought, “This California tragic humor crap (Crapifornia?) just writes itself.” Its like the states entire governing construct is in a sickening real life contest to out do the Babylon Bee or something.
What is “high speed” about the project?
How many did he import from India to work the Ghost train ?
What is “high speed” about the project?
The high speed by which greedy Democrats bamboozle taxpayers out of billions.
I guess Orwell should have written about a Ministry of High Speed.
This project is riddled with fraud and corruption.
He should be arrested for that!
RE: What is “high speed” about the project?
The spending of money.
Like those old movies with the printing press showing newspapers whizzing down the rollers by the hundreds as one is brought up for the screen and shows the headline for the plot.
So a leave of absence....
What bad news. It could cause a delay in the high-speed rail being finished for use by the taxpayers.
That’s a shock.
much more interesting than the hair-pulling incident with the daughter is the fact that Starostyuk is Choudri’s fiancée, and she just recently joined KPMG, a financial services firm that is advising the High-Speed Rail Authority, and Starostyuk is an advisory manager at KPMG!
that’s probably the REAL reason Choudri stepped down ...
Sounds like a spike in crime in CA. I hope the czar isn’t getting railroaded.
Will this be the death Nell for the high speed rail line or will the project Whiplash into overdrive now that Ian has taken a Choudri?
CEO of California’s High-Speed Rail Authority ???
California has high-speed rail?
“our longstanding commitment to public responsibility, transparency, and accountability.” — Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha....ROFLOL...ha, ha, ha....stop it!!
He’s stepping back to spend more time with his attorneys.
Meanwhile CA dems are trying to pass an anti-transparency bill. See post #1.
