[H/T Cathi] Alex Berenson on Twitter: Alex Berenson @AlexBerenson 1/ They will spin this as hard as possible, but it is awful news. Up to 15 Israelis who are a week out from the third dose have already died? 88 are very sick? Understand: A) The denominator here will be in person-DAYS - that’s how little time has passed since boosters started. 3:50 PM · Aug 22, 2021·Twitter for iPhone Alex Berenson @AlexBerenson·34m Replying to @AlexBerenson2/ The third dose produces a 20x-40x peak of antibodies compared to the second dose. “If you watch CBC, you’ll see our dear prime minister tell the Canadian public what the government of Canada won’t be able to do. This is just a total load of BS,” says Clayton, who has been working to get dozens of people in Afghanistan out before they are slaughtered by the Taliban.... “They can’t get to the airport,” says Clayton, who adds this person and their family sent him a video clip of the road to the airport, jammed with people on foot with gunfire ringing out.... “We’ve got a government that’s in the middle of an election that...

The world will witness a Chinese-anointed Afghan Government led by the 'New Taliban' -- a manufactured and packaged product of China Kabul has fallen to Taliban all over again. The 20 years of effort in importing democracy from the United States of America has failed, as expected. None can be blamed for Afghanistan to be in this situation today, except its own incumbent government, political leaders and trained armed forces, who were not sincere in delivering their assigned roles for the nation. The Afghan military and political leadership have given up without a fight. It highlights the nature of the...

Throughout the pandemic, the coronavirus has spawned a multitude of mutations: from the once-dominant Alpha variant to the still-raging Delta strain. But with California and the country still in the grips of another COVID-19 surge, a new alphabetized entry — Lambda — has been raising fresh questions about whether it, too, might feature characteristics that could trigger dangerous shifts in the dynamic pandemic landscape. Lambda, which was first identified in Peru, is worth watching because "it has had massive spread in South America," according to Dr. Benjamin Pinsky, director of the Clinical Virology Laboratory at Stanford University. When exposed to...

According to a new poll, only 25 percent of Americans said they support President Joe Biden's handling of the situation in Afghanistan, while a vast percent disapproved. Released by NBC News Sunday, the poll was conducted from August 14 to 17, with a margin of error of plus or minus 3.1 percent. Of the one thousand U.S. adults interviewed for the survey, 60 percent of individuals said they disapproved of the president's actions when it came to withdrawing troops from Afghanistan after two decades of conflict. In addition to Biden's handling of Afghanistan, the poll also highlighted the president's overall...

Explanation: Spectacular explosions keep occurring in the binary star system named RS Ophiuchi. Every 20 years or so, the red giant star dumps enough hydrogen gas onto its companion white dwarf star to set off a brilliant thermonuclear explosion on the white dwarf's surface. At about 5,000 light years distant, the resulting nova explosions cause the RS Oph system to brighten up by a huge factor and become visible to the unaided eye. The red giant star is depicted on the right of the above drawing, while the white dwarf is at the center of the bright accretion disk on...

A team of Special Air Service soldiers who were surrounded by Taliban hordes in Kandahar have been rescued in a dramatic desert operation. Around 20 elite SAS troops were left stranded in the province hundreds of miles from friendly forces when the militants took over. As enemy fighters closed in they sent an SOS request to Special Forces bosses back in Britain calling for immediate extraction. But they could not use Kandahar airfield – once home to 26,000 international troops at the height of the military campaign – because it had already been overrun by Taliban. So the SAS soldiers...

Police are painting rainbows on the side of their squad cars in a bid to beat online hate crimes and 'give confidence' to the LGBT+ community. Critics have said forces should be focusing on 'real' issues such as knife crime and that the colourful cars might seem less intimidating to the public. The cost of painting the cars, described as 'hate crime cars', is 'quite minimal' but are believed to give a 'huge impact' on the community. Deputy chief constable Julie Cooke said: 'Cars are there in the communities on normal policing patrol just to show the community that we...

50 Australian orphans and 3 staff members were shot over COVID restrictions by the order of the Bourke Shire Council. This was later determined to be a tragic error caused by miscommunication. The dogs at the Bourke Shire Dog Rescue Mission were to be shot to prevent the workers from traveling from home to the mission to care for the dogs. Unfortunately, the order received by the local constabulary was to kill all the occupants at the Bourke Shire Rescue Mission which is the local orphanage. Bourke Shire Council members apologized profusely for the misunderstanding and stated that a commission...

There is much agitation in the climatosphere about the amount of “coking coal” used in making steel. A number of allegedly smart folks are working on ways to replace that coal with hydrogen to reduce the amount of eeevil CO2 produced in steelmaking. There’s a very recent post on the subject here on WUWT, describing a “green steel” method developed in Sweden. So I thought I’d take a look at the numbers for steel for the European Union. If you know me, you know I like to run the numbers myself. From “Hydrogen In Steel Production“, I find: The steel...

Francis' 100 Points Question: “What Sense Can There Be In Kneeling Before A Piece of Bread?”The revelation of God in Christ's humanity can cause scandal and is not easy to accept, Francis said at the August 22 Angelus. This scandal is well represented by the sacrament of the altar, Francis added and asked the question: "What sense can there be, in the eyes of the world, in kneeling before a piece of bread?”Francis is answering this questions as he himself NEVER kneels in front of the consecrated host while he has been falling on his knees in front of politicians, homosexuals,...

The severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), which is responsible for the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), has caused almost 4.5 million deaths worldwide and infected almost 211 million as of August 19, 2021. To date, millions of doses of the COVID-19 vaccines have been deployed globally, which has significantly reduced the rate of infections, hospitalizations, and deaths from COVID-19. Despite these efforts, emerging SARS-CoV-2 variants that evade neutralization by antibodies to earlier lineages have threatened the efficacy of current vaccines. A new study published on the preprint server bioRxiv* explores the mechanism by which the SARS-CoV-2 lambda variant has...

During questioning Blinken admitted the United States must ask the Taliban for permission to evacuate Americans from Kabul, Afghanistan. What a total disgrace. These losers have NO IDEA what they are doing or who they are dealing with. This is shaping up to be the greatest disgrace in America’s history.

We shall go into the house of the Lord (Psalm 121)As a priest of the Archdiocese of Oviedo in Asturias, Spain, I have been very blessed to have been offering the Traditional Roman Mass in my home diocese since 2008. When ordained on Pentecost 1996, my hope of being able to celebrate the Vetus Ordo, even once before taking leave of this vale of tears, was rather more wishful thinking at the time. But here I am, celebrating every Sunday and preceptive Holy-day for nearly thirteen years now. And will continue to do so, though having had to switch over from...
