50 Australian orphans and 3 staff members were shot over COVID restrictions by the order of the Bourke Shire Council. This was later determined to be a tragic error caused by miscommunication.
The dogs at the Bourke Shire Dog Rescue Mission were to be shot to prevent the workers from traveling from home to the mission to care for the dogs. Unfortunately, the order received by the local constabulary was to kill all the occupants at the Bourke Shire Rescue Mission which is the local orphanage. Bourke Shire Council members apologized profusely for the misunderstanding and stated that a commission would be instituted to investigate the matter and suggest procedures to preclude this from happening in the future.
The Bourke Shire Council has advertised that there are currently openings in the local orphanage for staff and orphans.
I would say don’t quit your day job but your username says retired.
A+ for reading skills.
Australia has a sketchy history with orphans and orphanages, particularly in he late 1930s and early 1940s when England shipped a large number of their orphans to Australia. The problems persisted until the 1970s. Not sure if the issues have improved much.
Now they just let the Pakistanis groom orphan girls. I'd say the UK has a sketchy history with their orphans.
Disgusting. Thanks.
