A team of Special Air Service soldiers who were surrounded by Taliban hordes in Kandahar have been rescued in a dramatic desert operation.
Around 20 elite SAS troops were left stranded in the province hundreds of miles from friendly forces when the militants took over.
As enemy fighters closed in they sent an SOS request to Special Forces bosses back in Britain calling for immediate extraction.
But they could not use Kandahar airfield – once home to 26,000 international troops at the height of the military campaign – because it had already been overrun by Taliban. So the SAS soldiers fought their way to a secret desert location where they went into hiding. The coordinates of the location were then relayed back to Special Forces headquarters in a series of coded messages……..
On Wednesday night online flight trackers picked up a UK Hercules transport aircraft flying over the Gulf, until it turned off its Identification Friend or Foe sensors. This ensured flight radars could not follow its route towards the area of desert scrub which SAS troops had identified as a possible landing strip.
The aircraft, from the RAF’s Special Forces wing, made a dramatic landing in the dead of night with the crew wearing digital night-vision goggles.
A source said: ‘It was a very hush, hush mission. Kandahar had fallen to the Taliban on Friday and the guys were down there for five days after that. The enemy were rampant and killing a lot of Afghan Special Forces whom the SAS had been working with. So it was a very urgent mission…….

I think they should do the Japanese thing. Fall on their swords.
Let’s hope that this is not the way those 6,000 Soldiers and Marines are forced to withdraw if the Taliban close the airport and start shooting.
The democrats are such cruel people.
‘He who dares, wins”
I read now the rescue planes are trying to avoid heat seeking missiles. Let’s see how eager the left will be to keep Biden in office when one of those planes are hit
No wonder the Brits are beyond livid.
“..I think they should do the Japanese thing. Fall on their swords....”
Such a thing takes GUTS.....and HONOR.
Traits that do NOT exist with these “woke jokes”.
when one of those planes are hit
= = =
Let Hellary fly one. She knows how to dodge sams when landing.
I've been a broken record repeating that. If even a handful of unauthorized zealots among the radical Islamists downs a full plane of refugees it will set off an inferno of rage in the US. God forbid it happens.
I assume the US offered neither support nor coordination, so as not to offend the Taliban. That would be shameful.
“..I assume the US offered neither support nor coordination, so as not to offend the Taliban. That would be shameful....”
My guess would be that the US was not even notified or even knew it was actually happening until it was over in order for the mission not to be compromised by the Taliban being tipped off by the US that it was fixing to happen.
America used to do operations like that, when we were a superpower. We could be again if we had the will.
“ I read now the rescue planes are trying to avoid heat seeking missiles. Let’s see how eager the left will be to keep Biden in office when one of those planes are hit”
Let’s pray that doesn’t happen. Our military members (minus the perfumed princes in the general officer ranks) deserve so much better than the shit-sandwiches that Biden & crew are serving them.
We might have to call in the Megaforce with Barry Bostwick and Persis Khambatta to save the day.
Find the guy who pulled this SAS rescue off, and make him our next Chairman of the Joint Chiefs. He’d be great. But come to think of it, the kid who mows my lawn would make a better Chairman of the Joint Chiefs than the one we have now.
Nobody will ever trust this government ever again.
Nor will they trust future US governments.
I would not blame them.
We might have to ask the PLA for evacuation help, since they have enough cash to make the Taliban behave and Xi would like to incur yet another debt from Biden. /s
Col. Richard Kemp will be interviewed by Mark Levin tonight on “Life, Liberty, & Levin”.
I am pretty sure Col. Kemp will have some harsh words for this damn fool Administration.
Did the SAS guys have to wear high heels during this operation?
