Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan (R) slammed some in the Republican Party for “whitewashing” the Jan. 6 Capitol breach. In an interview on “The Takeout Podcast,” CBS News’s Major Garrett asked the governor to weigh in on efforts within the GOP to “sanitize” the attack, which led to multiple deaths and hundreds of arrests. “We have to get to the bottom of exactly what happened there, and there's no whitewashing,” Hogan said.

VIDEOFasten your seatbelts before you watch the Virginia Beach School Board at the July 20, 2021 meeting try to shut down parents from speaking out by using the "agenda" excuse to constantly declare them to be off-topic. It does not go well as the parents fight back in quite a dramatic fashion.

Sixteenth Week in Ordinary Time Matthew 13:18-23 Friends, in today’s Gospel Jesus explains the parable of the sower. Let’s study each part of his explanation. The seed sown on the path is “the one who hears the word without understanding it, and the Evil One comes and steals away what was sown.” This means we might end up blocked from God because we lack education in the ways of the Spirit. The seed sown on rocky ground is “the one who hears the word and receives it at once with joy. But he has no root and lasts only for...

Upon leaving my Cuban American community, I encountered individuals with no functional understanding of Cuba and the many millions debilitated by the regime. As a first-generation Cuban American from Miami, Florida, my upbringing, daily discourse, and education have been overwhelmingly influenced by the Cuban struggle. To me, it’s always seemed straightforward: Cuba’s communist system has inflicted human and civil rights violations, family separations, and sexual, religious, and ideological persecution of minorities since 1959. Yet upon leaving my Cuban American community, I encountered individuals with no functional understanding of Cuba and the dire context that defined the lives of myself and the...

Actor Sean Penn is reportedly refusing to return to the set of his upcoming Starz anthology series Gaslit until everyone in the production has received the coronavirus vaccine. Deadline reported Penn is insisting to the production on the mandatory vaccination of all production personnel, including actors and crew members, and has offered to facilitate the vaccination effort free of charge through his organization CORE. Sean Penn’s demands come as Hollywood studios and unions recently reached a tentative agreement allowing productions to make vaccinations a mandatory requirement for work on TV and movie shoots. NBCUniversal, which is producing Gaslit, has reportedly...

During a town hall with CNN this week, President Joe Biden said handguns should be banned. “The idea you need a weapon that can have the ability to fire 20, 30, 40, 50, 120 shots from that weapon, whether it’s a, whether it’s a 9mm pistol or whether it’s a rifle, is ridiculous," Biden said. “I’m continuing to push to eliminate the sale of those things." But Politifact, which claims to be an objective fact checking organization, rated the claim Biden said he would ban handguns "false."

[Catholic Caucus] I attend the Latin Mass. My fellow attendees and I share the same concerns all Catholics should have."Most of the sermons I have heard revolve around the Sacraments, types of sins and how to avoid them, and how to combat secular culture."Traditional Mass in Basilica of St. Pancras, Rome, 2016. Thoom/ShutterstockPope Francis has said that Summorum Pontificum has been “exploited to widen the gaps, reinforce the divergences, and encourage disagreements that injure the Church, block her path, and expose her to the peril of division.” He used this as one justification for severely restricting the freedom of priests...

A question for all of us. Do we realize what the "biden" administration is doing to this country? To the citizens? It looks like obama style: fundamentally transforming this great nation to a heap of ashes. I read through the posts on Free Republic and it's unbelievable what I see the left is doing to all of us. I don't see how we can go till 2022 to save our nation. They are on a high that will turn this nation into a hell hole.. From great to destruction. How can we do nothing. To say there is no way...

...Since the initial rule book was issued in February, Tokyo 2020 has turned the restriction screws much tighter. Foreigners traveling to the Olympics must now have two negative PCR tests before boarding the plane to Tokyo. They must take a third test on arrival in Japan, which is officially called “Day 0,” and additional tests on days 1, 2 and 3. Saliva-sample spit boxes are positioned throughout the Olympic apron. There are no exemptions for those already vaccinated. Last week duty-free shops were ordered to examine customers’ passports to be sure they haven’t violated 14-day quarantine restrictions. The FBI’s Other Sexual Scandal For those who do not benefit from the FBI’s selective use of its power, the consistent tolerance of child predators (even within its own ranks) calls into question its legitimacy. Cruising the streets of Moscow in his car, Lavrentiy Beria would occasionally direct his driver to stop so he could abduct a girl. As the head of Soviet Russia’s secret police, the NKVD, Beria savored his power to kidnap countless victims who he would rape in a specially constructed soundproof room. In 2011, workers excavating a common grave holding some of his victims found children’s...

Notice how the narrative has changed once again? A few weeks ago it was "we need to reach 70% to reach herd immunity". Now, the newest fear porn: "If we don't get everyone [vaccinated], we'll have more lockdowns" – you know, those lockdowns that didn't work the first (or second) time. Now, in an act of total desperation, "let's all blame the [vaccine] hesitant!".Among the craziest I've heard (paraphrasing): "… due to the unvaccinated spreading the virus. It has mutated and is now infecting the vaccinated, and… and… and…"Hogwash.(Children may be reading). In their ongoing desperation, they are tripping over their...

...the announcement that Jagger and company will try again, at the postponed 2021 Jazz Fest, caught just about everyone by surprise — even members of the Jazz Fest staff and board. Until Thursday, the Stones organization managed to keep secret not just the Oct. 13 New Orleans appearance but the band's entire 13-date fall stadium tour. “There may never have been anything that was so big and so quiet,” said Quint Davis, the Jazz Fest's longtime producer and director. “It’s the biggest band in the world doing an American tour that nobody knew about. And they’re playing Jazz Fest.” ...an...

Sydney (CNN) — Quarantine-free travel from all Australian states and territories to New Zealand will be suspended, New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern and Covid-19 Response Minister Chris Hipkins announced on July 23. The news comes as Australia continues to grapple with a Covid outbreak spreading through multiple states despite lockdowns. "Given the high level of transmissibility of the Delta variant, and the fact that there are now multiple community clusters, it is the right thing to do to keep Covid-19 out of New Zealand," Hipkins said.

I was in a discussion with a friend and he asked if there was a difference between the Covit-19 virus and the Coronavirus. If the two are not the same, which one is the target of the "vaccine?" Not knowing the answer, I said I would present the question to the best deliberators, The FreeRepublic.
