About 36 million families can expect to receive some extra cash beginning on July 15, when the IRS will start distributing the expanded child tax credit. Eligible families will receive up to $1,800 in cash per child through December, part of the American Rescue Plan that President Biden signed into law in March. The $1.9 trillion relief bill boosted the child tax credit – previously worth up to $2,000 for every child under the age of 17 – to up to $3,600 for every child under the age of 6 and $3,000 for every child ages 6 to 17.

Not a day passes without mothers and fathers rebelling against left-wing indoctrination of their children at school. Like magma erupting through the Earth’s crust, superheated parental anger is cracking the natural disinclination of ordinary people to speak up on controversial issues. Videos of parents confronting an education establishment that has been entirely captured by the radical Left are going viral so often that they’ve become a new social media genre, as Max Eden noted in the Washington Examiner magazine. This is a counterrevolution that might topple the edifice of left-wing lies about our culture and our country. To switch metaphors,...

As the withdrawal of Christian values from the formation of public policy has accelerated, the religion of progressive secularism has rushed in to fill the gap. It is to this religion Biden and the Democratic Party have pledged their devotion. It is on the bases of the religion of progressivism they form public policy, domestic and foreign. Biden certainly demonstrates the symbolic and real embodiment of the progressive idea of the radical separation of church and state. According to radical progressives, Christianity, including Catholicism, is to play no part in public policy. Catholicism; indeed, Christianity in general, is to be...

Major League Baseball teams have been celebrating “Pride Month” via Pride Nights at ballparks across the Majors. June is Pride Month, in case you’ve missed the hype. Outdoing itself, the MLB is partying “all season long.” One wonders why there needs to be a month of any celebration. Should October be refashioned as “Halloween Month?” Is there an “Irish Month,” which St. Patrick’s Day is the capstone? And why limit Groundhog Day to a day? Yet gay pride is now LGBTQ+ (the plus is currently optional) pride because being homosexual isn’t enough. Every sexual variant not heterosexual and practiced by...

President Joe Biden's sister, confidante and longtime political strategist, Valerie Biden Owens, has a book deal. Celadon Books told The Associated Press on Thursday that Owens' “Growing Up Biden” will come out April 12 of next year. She is expected to cover everything from her childhood as the only girl among four siblings to her “trailblazing, decades-long professional relationship” with Biden, who has referred to Owens as his best friend. Vogue magazine last year dubbed her “The Joe Biden Whisperer.”

The New York Times has been accused of 'killing' an expose of abusive and bullying Hollywood producer Scott Rudin, who was one of the biggest advertisers in the paper's Arts and Leisure section. The Hollywood Reporter on Wednesday claimed that the paper had a story with named sources in early 2020. The story was timed to run before the weekend of the Oscars, on February 9, 2020.

Helen Reddy sang a Grammy Award-winning hit in 1972 called “I Am Woman,” an ode to the newly blossomed feminist movement. It was a number one song in the US, selling over a million copies. I am woman, hear me roarIn numbers too big to ignoreAnd I know too much to go back an’ pretendWhat are women going back and pretending about today? How about separate men’s and women’s sports? Remember a time when major sporting competitions, like the Olympic Games, separated men from women, perhaps not in the Olympic Village, but on the track, in the pool, and in...

Tucker Carlson is the left’s “current Bogeyman No. 2, after Donald Trump”. Tucker Carlson is the left’s “current Bogeyman No. 2, after Donald Trump,” observes J. Peder Zane in a commentary at Real Clear Politics, and I think he is right. Night after night, Carlson goes in depth uncovering hypocrisies, lies, and outrages being perpetrated by the powerful and connected elites that run the country and its media. So, as with Trump, powerful members of the media are willing to break the old rules of journalism to take him down. The object of Zane’s critique is Ben Smith, formerly the...

Just this once, Senate Democrats assure the American public, they will attempt to suspend the use of the filibuster in hopes of passing legislation aimed at dismantling new state voting integrity laws. There is nothing sincere about such an assurance, of course. The only circumstances under which this Machiavellian majority would not vote to once again suspend the filibuster is if Republicans regained the majority and the filibuster becomes useful in thwarting their agenda once more. Fortunately, Democratic Sen. Joe Manchin of West Virginia is signaling that he has enough courage to say “no” to his own party by refusing...

When crises are manufactured to target ideological foes and real threats are ignored, safety, security, and civil rights are sacrificed. Last November, the now-defunct Trump Accountability Project, linked to former Democratic National Committee press secretary Hari Sevugan, bruited its plan to blacklist those who worked for the Trump administration. Sevugan tweeted, “Employers considering them should know that there are consequences for hiring anyone who helped Trump attack American values. Find out how at the Trump Accountability Project.” Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (Dem-NY) too called for devising lists of Trump supporters for punishment and ostracism. The rhetoric reeked of a witch-hunt to...

Vice President Kamala Harris just returned from Guatemala where she discussed the "root cause" of the post-election "surge" of "migrants" to our southern border. Harris said, "People leave home ... because they don't have opportunities there to fulfill their basic needs like feeding their children or keeping a roof over their head, or they're fleeing some kind of harm." But the USA also faces a surge in crime, including homicide, in many American cities. Why aren't we discussing this root cause? It cannot be because, as Harris says about migrants, people "don't have opportunities there to fill their basic needs."...

Who would have thought it possible? Who would have ever guessed that today's military would be led by the very socialists and Marxists whom I and millions of other veterans battled during a 45-year cold war — not to mention hot wars such as Korea and Vietnam? But apparently, that is the case. Secretary of defense Lloyd James Austin III has ordered a radical leftist indoctrination of America's Army, Navy, Air Force, and Coast Guard and the newly created Space Force. To make sure this Marxist assault is carried out, Austin has hired a radical socialist named Bishop Garrison to...

Former NFL quarterback Brett Favre said Tuesday that he doesn’t support transgender New Zealand weightlifter Laurel Hubbard competing in the upcoming Olympic games. In a recent episode of his podcast “Bolling with Favre” Favre told co-host Eric Bolling that he doesn’t approve of Hubbard competing in the women's event. "It's a man competing as a woman," Favre told Bolling. "That's unfair. It's not fair for a man, even if this person wants to be a woman or feels compelled — if you want to become the opposite sex, that's fine. I got no problem with it. But you can't compete...

Nikki Haley is seeking a course-correction after a falling out with Trump World earlier this year left her isolated from some top conservatives. The former U.S. ambassador to the United Nations will headline the Iowa GOP’s annual Lincoln Dinner in Des Moines on Thursday, the latest step in a months-long effort to rehabilitate her image in conservative circles after criticizing former President Trump over the Jan. 6 riot. Since then, she has endorsed female Republican candidates, met with House conservatives on Capitol Hill and praised Trump publicly — all the while fueling speculation that she’s planning to mount her own...
