I went to Canadian Tire to buy a knapsack, because the handle of mine had torn completely off and these knapsacks aren't really repairable once they become damaged with a big hole on the side. For those who may not be aware of what Canadian Tire, it's a hardware department store that sells automobile services as well as automobile supplies, reasonably priced and quality tools, camping and sporting goods and seasonal furniture. I had my face bandana on, but was not wearing it over my face. I walked through the store and found my knapsack and was walking towards tills...

More than 200 rabbis sent a letter to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, ridiculing her for not more strongly condemning Democratic Rep. Ilhan Omar and accusing the Minnesota Democrat of inciting attacks on American Jews. "We reiterate that the mob attacks on American Jews today are directly attributable to the rhetoric of Rep. Omar and those who stand with her within and beyond Congress," the rabbis wrote in the letter Wednesday, which was organized by the Coalition of Jewish Values and its president, Rabbi Pesach Lerner. The coalition said Pelosi’s response to the controversial comments was “far too mild” and argued...

Fox News, right-wing websites and Republican lawmakers are promoting a new false flag conspiracy that the FBI orchestrated the deadly assault on the US Capitol. The haywire theory originated from an article published Monday by Revolver News, a right-wing website. From there, it was picked up by Fox News host Tucker Carlson, who used his opening segment on Tuesday night to slam the FBI, saying it played a role in the January 6 attack. Several Republican lawmakers quickly piled on. They entered the article into the congressional record, tweeted about the Fox News segment, condemned the FBI agents who supposedly...

As I slide my finger into the hand grip, a rubber ring clamps down on my knuckle to hold it into place. It’s a gentle reminder that I should be moving as little as possible... as I watch the tiny brush head trace an almost-perfect outline of my nail before continuing to fill it in with color in a mesmerizing loop, I reluctantly admit to myself that this is, almost certainly, the future. For starters, a robot painting your nails is fast and cheap. The shellacking of a deep maroon cost me $8 and was done within 10 minutes. Plus,...

This issue has been lurking in the background for months. Where I live, there are almost no homes on the market for rent. The inventory of the number of homes for sale is at record lows, and when combined with historically low home mortgage rates, the prices at which homes are selling have gone through the roof.

Andrei Romanov, 36, a Google sales engineer, likely didn’t intentionally dive into the river at Domino Park in Williamsburg Wednesday night, according to his brother Mikhail Romanov. “Perhaps the railing could be extended … Such small changes would certainly would have been worth it if they could have saved his life, given the enormous positive impact he had on so many people,” Mikhail Romanov said.

It’s a funny meme that’s been circulating around in some capacity since around 2018, and it’s recently become far more popular as modern culture falls further and further into an absurd, shallow state where the truth is rejected for “my truth” and common sense is pushed out in favor of social trends. Oftentimes, you’ll see this meme paired with pictures of modern vs traditional art, structures, or even who we look to as examples to follow.
