The UK recorded the most coronavirus cases in a day since mid-February, amid warnings the current wave of infections driven by the highly transmissible delta variant may still be weeks from peaking.
More than 11,000 new cases of the disease were reported on Thursday, along with 19 deaths, according to the Department Health. A study by Public Health England showed infection rates increasing across all age groups, but are highest among people aged 20 to 29. Separately, the government said eight in 10 adults have now had their first vaccine dose.
The data illustrates how the delta variant, first identified in India, upended the government’s plan to lift remaining pandemic restrictions this month. Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced a four-week delay on Monday to allow more adults to receive a second dose of the vaccine, which data show significantly increases protection against the new strain.

Nothing to see here folks. Well within the margins of a safety for an experimental emergency vaccine. Of course a few lab rats are going to die for the greater good.
Ivermectin for all.
So embarrassing. The very article you posted indicates the opposite - it is spreading among the nonvaccinated:
Research from Imperial College London published Thursday found the prevalence of Covid-19 in England is increasing exponentially, driven by younger age groups that haven’t been vaccinated.
But gotta keep the narrative alive, right?
Apparently, just the first shot of the AstraZeneca vaccine is only about 35% effective against the Indian (Delta) variant, that is now dominant in the UK.
They made a conscious decision to delay second shots (12 to 16 weeks), to get more people first shots sooner.
That worked well for other strains of COVID, but the Delta variant exploits that gap.
The UK and Canada (which also uses the AstraZeneca vaccine) are now speeding up second shots.
The vaccines used in the USA seem significantly more effective against the Delta variant, even with just the first shot. The USA has a much smaller gap between the number with just a first shot, and those fully vaccinated.
Over 6000 official deaths and who knows actual, so it sounds like the proof is already known. Just how many deaths the Governors consider too many.
Can’t believe some are so clueless on how the vaccines work.
Vaccines are NOT a coat of steel armor around the body.
If you are in close vicinity of infected person you will inhale virus load. And then you will test positive.
The difference is, as Tom Selleck says in his commercial,
is your ability to fight the virus. Vaccine will have created
antibodies in you and your body has a better chance to defeat
the virus before you get seriously sick. Which means you have better chance to avoid ending up in an isolated plastic tent.
Well some medical scientists are saying that it is the vaccines that are producing the variants. Very possible. A virus looks for a way to survive.
The vaccine industry is pure evil and fraudulent
Everything they say is a lie. And you repeat their lies
CongraTs on being a dupe
“Vaccinations only prove that you can inject someone
with highly acidic toxic poisonous chemicals and that person
hopefully surviving the debilitating side effects, such as multiple
sclerosis, lesions on the brain, paralysis, breakdown of the red
and white blood cells, ulcerations of the liver, lung, kidney, pancreas,
stomach and bowels, seizures and death. Vaccinations provide
zero immunity. True immunity that leads to health and fitness
can only be achieved by making healthy lifestyle and dietary choices.”
Appears that the CCP continues to seed thevirus.
As a good conservative do you support the first amendment absolute right of freedom of association?
If so then you must support the right of the vaccinated to associate to the exclusion of unvaccinated it is their constitutional right to do so. If vaccinated people want to have private clubs and gatherings or parties with not a single.unvaccinated you must acknowledge that is their constitutional right to do so. Here in North Texas there is a large group of vaccinated that have been doing house boat lake parties, BBQS and crawfish boil strictly for the vaccinated. Private security is there checking CDC cards at the entrances and no one without one is allowed in. The MRNA versions are 94% effective at preventing infection that means less than 6% present would even be able to carry the virus let alone pass it on. Local PD has showed up and they are advised the same thing private property only.vaccinated PD would be allowed on site at invitation all others must have a bench warrant to enter so go get one. We have lawyers for days in our group one has a case pending to the USSC and others with the 5th circuit we are not worried about lawfare. So what say you do you respect the first amendment or not?
So what is going on in Europe?
Euro 2020.
I do not believe this is correct, nor true for other vaccines as well. A vaccine gives your immune system a "heads up" to get ahead of the invaders before they can cause serious symptoms, but it does not prevent an asymptomatic infection.
Now, whether the suppression is great enough to lower spread by a vaccinated-but-mildly-infected person seems to still be a subject of debate.
That said, I understand the rest of your point. :-)
The UK has four vaccines approved for use: Pfizer-BioNTech, Oxford-AstraZeneca, Moderna and Janssen; three of which require two doses for maximum protection.
Don’t forget that a greater percentage of the population in USA had 2nd shots longer than those in UK so I guess that’s another reason why we’re holding out well against the Delta variant.
Although the UK has four vaccines they can use, the great majority there have gotten the AstraZeneca.
