Hans Küng, a controversial Swiss Catholic theologian, professor and priest, who was once censured by the late Pope John Paul II, has died at age 93. Küng, who was known to be critical of Catholic theology, passed away at his home in Tübingen, Germany, on Tuesday, according to a report by Vatican News. Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI, himself the subject of critique by Küng, released a statement quoted by Vatican News commending the late theologian for trying “to revive the dialogue between faith and the natural sciences and to assert, with regard to scientific thought, the reasonableness and necessity of...

The Biden administration did not solicit bids for a multimillion contract to house migrant families in hotels and instead gave the massive contract to an organization whose leadership has ties to the White House, including one official who was on the Biden transition team. In its rush to stand up facilities to hold families who come over the southern border illegally in rising numbers, the Biden administration signed a deal that a member of Congress and people with knowledge of the matter said presented a conflict of interest and wasted existing government facilities.

This past Sunday, critically acclaimed CBS program "60 Minutes" broadcast an alleged bombshell report on Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and an apparent "pay to play" scheme involving supermarket chain Publix and the state's distribution of COVID-19 vaccines. The report alleged that because of a campaign donation Publix made to DeSantis, the governor favored them in the rollout of the vaccine in the state. The program further stated that in doing this, minorities were adversely affected since Publix stores are not as prevalent in their neighborhoods. The segment included a video of a confrontation between DeSantis and the "60 Minutes" correspondent in...

In the wake of Major League Baseball relocating the All-Star game, almost everyone who was calling for such a move has been backtracking—including Joe Biden, and even Stacey Abrams, who was a major voice against the recently passed election law that Democrats have been making several false claims about. But now, sources say that Stacey Abrams was the one who convinced MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred to move the All-Star game out of Georgia.SCOOP: @MLB sources say owners were blindsided at least by the timing of @RobManfred's decision to pull the All-Star game from Atlanta. Also said his decision came after speaking...

Kamala Harris is beginning to resemble the Grim Reaper — minus a scythe and hood — silently stalking President Biden. The doom-and-gloom likely future president, who has even at times been referred to by her boss as "President Harris," has become an eerily attendant figure, sitting or standing a few feet behind Old Joe as if anticipating an opportunity to claim her rightful place in the political sun. Granted, it is not unusual for vice presidents to accompany the commander-in-chief to various meetings. They are, after all, considered a team. But there is something decidedly sinister in the subdued omnipresence...

Lessons from Yesteryear that still Apply Today - Due to the political climate and potential gun bans, revolvers have become fashionable for concealed carry once again. So I thought I would add my two cents on the subject. The first thing that needs to be addressed is why we are 1) practicing with revolvers (or any gun for that matter), and 2) carrying them. Yes, shooting guns safely both in practice and competition is fun, but really the intent is for self-defense purposes. Many a well-known lawman of yesteryear made the revolver famous, including James Butler Hickok aka Wild Bill,...

The explosion of vitriol against Georgia for the audacity to try and protect future elections has been remarkable. Businesses, including Delta and Coke, have made very public statements about the issue. Major League Baseball will be moving its All-Star Game from Atlanta to Denver. Celebrities in sport and entertainment have weighed in against Georgia. Our politicians have gotten into the act as well. President Joe Biden has encouraged professional golf to move its Master’s tournament in Augusta to another state. To hear them tell it, Georgia has become the revival of the old Confederacy and a new Sherman’s March is...

ROME — President Joe Biden urged Americans in a press briefing Tuesday to all get vaccinated, insisting Pope Francis has called receiving the shot a “moral obligation.” “People are coming together across the different faiths to serve those most in need, with a special focus on vaccinating seniors from all races, backgrounds, and walks of life,” Biden said. “It’s an example of America at its finest.”

In 1989, the Polish Solidarity used the slogan "May Poland be Poland. 2 + 2 must always equal four." While this might seem to be a simple factual statement, it was in fact a declaration that statements that had been passed off as facts were, in reality, lies. It was a declaration that truth had to be at the forefront of the movement to crush communism if it was going to succeed.Today, that slogan still applies. If Republicans want to win the vote, they first have to win the argument, and it's hard to win any argument if the other...

While watching America's Voice on Pluto, I noticed a Wheaties Commercial (you wouldn't know it was a cereal ad) basically praising the black power movement. Features a variety of black "activists" raising their clenched fists in the "black power" salute. I can't find the clip anywhere on the usual media feeds. Just wrote a letter of complaint to General Mills about it.

The violence is being blamed on escalating frustration over new post-Brexit trade barriers between Northern Ireland and the rest of the United Kingdom. Gates were set alight on a “peace wall” — separating pro-Irish nationalist and pro-UK unionist communities since “the Troubles” began more than 50 years ago — as crowds threw gasoline bombs over it. Several hundred people gathered on both sides of a gate in the wall, “committing serious criminal offenses, both attacking police and attacking each other,” Police Service of Northern Ireland Assistant Chief Constable Jonathan Roberts said. Brexit disturbed the political balance in Northern Ireland, where...

Turmoil seems to be the daily goal of certain persons in the political class and much of the media. We have for a while been jolted from one alleged existential crisis to the next. Apparently on purpose, we are triggered by partial explanations and depictions to feel something as an emotion they have predetermined on our behalf, not provided information for thoughtful consideration of complicated issues. Cui bono? Who benefits from triggering pre-selected emotional and not rational thought? On a now daily basis, all manner of people pour over our southern border and are then exported throughout the country. There...

Throughout his long and storied career, the "Roll Me Up And Smoke Me When I Die" singer has been open about his ongoing relationship with the devil's lettuce. In 2015, as marijuana legalization within the United States expanded, he launched his own recreational brand, Willie's Reserve. Now Nelson and Luck Presents, the company behind his popular Luck Reunion festival, have announced a new cannabis convention called Luck Summit: Planting the Seed. The inaugural event is scheduled to kick off on April 26 and continue through the country music legend's 88th birthday on April 29.

Back in the day when "Saturday Night Live" was funny, Chevy Chase would open the "Weekend Update" segment by saying, "I'm Chevy Chase ... and you're not."That line came to mind over President Biden's massive tax-and-spend proposals, which are unlike anything since FDR, after whom Biden appears to be modeling himself. The president thinks he's a capitalist ... but he's not.In a very short time, we have regressed from Ronald Reagan's "government is not the solution to our problem, government IS our problem" and Bill Clinton's declaration that "the era of big government is over" to Biden's belief that the...

Victor Davis Hanson says Joe Biden is suffering from "megalomania," gripped with the delusion that he is the answer to all of the problems he blames on Donald Trump. "Of all Biden’s diminishing powers, megalomania seems the last to go," Hanson wrote at American Greatness. "So instead of claiming credit for his predecessor’s accomplishments, Biden did the very opposite, with pretensions he would outdo Obamacare, the New Deal, and the Great Society all at once. In that vein, he has not only misrepresented Trump’s achievements, but in spite and ignorance sought to undo them at the border, on the economy,...

Never Trump conservatives like McMullin and Miles Taylor helped elect Joe Biden. Where do they go now? On a cold Friday morning in February, 120 well-known conservatives gathered via Zoom. The meeting was unadvertised and invite-only, and under Chatham House Rule, attendees agreed to not publicly reveal the identity of others outside of that setting.

On this day in 1943, a working-class German couple were executed for treason and sedition in Berlin, Germany: Otto and Elise Hampel’s reign of postcard-writing terror had finally come to its conclusion. On the surface, the Hampels seemed like two very ordinary people. Elise had an elementary school education and worked as a domestic servant before she married Otto in 1935. Otto, a World War I veteran six years older than Elise, was a factory laborer. They lived modest, anonymous lives in Berlin and doubtless would have continued to do so if Elise’s brother, a soldier in the German Army,...

Tarrant County’s top health officials are claiming without evidence that large crowds for Texas Rangers games may turn into a coronavirus super spreading event. “We need to be sensible about how we bring back normal. There are times when you have to be cautious, and right now is the time to be cautious,” said Vinny Taneja, the county’s public health director, according to the Star-Telegram.
