The judge, a former Los Angeles prosecutor, addressed the lawyers sharply and sarcastically, according to a transcription of his remarks, and turned down their requests to release the defendants. “OK,” Connolly told one of the lawyers. “I’m going to stop you there. Because we’re done. All right. I am not releasing either of these people, with these charges. There are multiple charges. If you wished to present this evidence, you should have been here or had someone represent you.” The commission said the attorneys appeared polite and respectful, and there was “no apparent justification for the judge’s display of impatience...

The term is called vaccine breakthrough. It's defined as someone fully vaccinated who still tests positive for COVID-19 after their last shot. "They've either received the two doses of Moderna or Pfizer and have waited 14 days after that, or the one dose of Johnson & Johnson and 14 days after that, then they test positive," said Nebraska Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Gary Anthone. The Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services believes there are about 15 cases in the state. Anthone is not surprised. "It's to be expected. The vaccines are not 100% effective against, you know, getting infected...

Labour peer Baroness Shami Chakrabarti, a member of a cross-party group of politicians warning against introducing vaccine passports, has called their possible use a “tool of discrimination, oppression and bullying”. The former shadow attorney general told BBC Radio 4’s Today programme: “It’s dangerous, it’s discriminatory, it’s counter-productive. “It seems to me, and many others, that on the one hand, if this level of intrusion into our lives were to be proportionate, then probably it’s not safe to open up the economy. “On the other hand, if it is safe to open up the economy, to come out of this lockdown...

Rep Matt Gaetz is expected to be indicted within the next few weeks as former Florida official and friend Joel Greenberg is believed to have turned on the congressman in the sex trafficking investigation against him, a source close to the probe tells DailyMail.com. Greenberg, who was elected Seminole County Tax Collector in 2016, is currently in jail awaiting trial after being slapped with a string of charges last year including sex trafficking a minor between the age of 14 and 17. Earlier this week Gaetz was revealed to be under investigation for allegedly engaging in a sexual relationship with...

Three state senators said they plan to introduce legislation that would prohibit the governor from implementing a vaccine passport program in Pennsylvania. Susquehanna Valley Sens. Kristin Phillips-Hill (R-28) and Judy Ward (R-30), along with Sen. Michele Brooks (R-50), said requiring people to show proof of being vaccinated to do certain things is "an extreme government intrusion into people’s personal lives." The lawmakers agree that anyone who wants a vaccine should get one but said there are reasons why some people may choose not to get immunized, and the government should not ask residents to reveal personal health information. News 8...

Professor Chris Whitty said the virus is "not going to go away" and we will have to learn to live with it. The Chief Medical Officer said: "You've got to work out what's a rational policy to this. Here I would differentiate quite a lot between an epidemic or pandemic environment and what you get with, let's say, seasonal flu. Every year, on average somewhere between 7,000 and 9,000 citizens die of flu, most of them very elderly. And every few years you get a bad flu year where 20,000 to 25,000 die of it and it really dominates hospitals....

Explanation: Gorgeous spiral galaxy NGC 3521 is a mere 35 million light-years away, toward the constellation Leo. Relatively bright in planet Earth's sky, NGC 3521 is easily visible in small telescopes but often overlooked by amateur imagers in favor of other Leo spiral galaxies, like M66 and M65. It's hard to overlook in this colorful cosmic portrait, though. Spanning some 50,000 light-years the galaxy sports characteristic patchy, irregular spiral arms laced with dust, pink star forming regions, and clusters of young, blue stars. Remarkably, this deep image also finds NGC 3521 embedded in gigantic bubble-like shells. The shells are likely...

Subheading: ‘2112’ can be considered many things – a band manifesto, a conceptual landmark, maybe even the birth of prog metal – but above all, it was the band’s play for creative independence. The year 1976 was a make-or-break time for Rush. It found them with ambition to spare, a growing cult audience, and a label that wasn’t sure what to do with them. It was time to pull together all of their disparate ideas into one major statement and they accomplish just that with their fourth studio album, 2112. This was the crucial turning point for the band, the album...

Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., hit Dr. Anthony Fauci in a series of tweets Friday suggesting the top infectious disease doctor is turning a blind eye to the risk of coronavirus spread among migrants at the border. "Paging Dr. Fauci: You need to go to the southern border and witness in person the biggest super spreader event in the nation – President [Biden's] immigration policies," Graham tweeted. Graham said thousands of migrants from Central America with a "10% COVID-positive rate" are spreading the virus at overcrowded border facilities. The migrants are staying "on top of each other" and then "dumped off...

Watch Mad Maxine Waters on video recently embracing the head hate peddler of the Nation of Islam Church, Louis Farrakhan. Twitter LinkRed State said that as Ryan Saavedra of the Daily Wire points out, this is likely because they actually are old friends. Saavedra also dug up an old video of Farrakhan and Waters hugging it out at a 2002 Nation of Islam event where he complimented her on being a “great congresswoman” before condemning Israel for responding in force with superior weapons and technology when these pour Palestinians can only attack by strapping bombs to themselves. Twitter LinkFarrakhan is...

The NFAC leader’s real name is John Fitzgerald Johnson. He is a former soldier, a failed political candidate, a hip-hop DJ, a rambling egotist, and a prolific self-promoter. His life sometimes seems like a long disinformation campaign about itself. *snip* Jay claims that the NFAC first appeared publicly when nine white supremacists came to Dayton, Ohio, in May 2019. No one seems to have noticed the coalition then, amid some 600 other counterprotesters. In 2020, however, it showed up in larger numbers (Jay claims thousands, but hundreds seems more realistic) at protests over Confederate monuments and over the killing of...

Mark Levin · @Marklevinshow 3 hours ago · Impressions 191287 John Boehner is an idiot. Whenever I saw him, which was rarely and usually with others, he had a drink in one hand and a cigarette in the other. Now, he has a stupid book, no doubt written by another, which he is promoting in the left-wing site, Politico. I suppose Politico was a frequent receptor for his frequent leaks against conservatives, the Tea Party, etc. I've always viewed Boehner as a relatively stupid, unserious Washington-insider. But he's a perfect foil, and I will briefly discuss this tonight on radio!...

Conservatives tout the importance of the traditional family to our society. Father, mother, children, the family is the building block, the foundation of society. This isn’t news to any civilization. Radical Leftists tell us it doesn’t matter. A family is whatever one or two or more people of any sex wish it to be. After almost fifty years of the Great Society, in which many fathers were replaced with a monthly stipend, we know the results. Directionless, violent and barbaric boys grow into felonious men. Absent the proven institution, the structure of traditional marriage, women still have babies, but our...

Current models used by many climate scientists estimate global sea levels could rise by between 1 and 2 meters by the end of this century. The Durham researchers used detailed geological sea-level data and state-of-the-art modeling techniques to reveal the sources of the dramatic five-century sea level rising event. Comparable to melting an ice sheet twice the size of Greenland, it resulted in the flooding of vast areas of low-lying land and disrupted ocean circulation, with knock-on effects for global climate, they said. "Our study includes novel information from lakes around the coast of Scotland that were isolated from the...

A couple was arrested this week in Newark, New Jersey, on criminal charges regarding their alleged attempt to provide material support to ISIS, the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) said Thursday. “According to court documents, James Bradley, 20, of the Bronx, New York, and Arwa Muthana, 29, of Hoover, Alabama, are ISIS supporters who attempted to travel to the Middle East to join and fight for ISIS,” the agency stated. Bradley has allegedly voiced support for the terrorist group and his desire to be part of it overseas or commit a terrorist attack in America. “Bradley and his wife, who...
