Correction: Two months after publication of this story, the Georgia secretary of state released an audio recording of President Donald Trump’s December phone call with the state’s top elections investigator. The recording revealed that The Post misquoted Trump’s comments on the call, based on information provided by a source. Trump did not tell the investigator to “find the fraud” or say she would be “a national hero” if she did so. Instead, Trump urged the investigator to scrutinize ballots in Fulton County, Ga., asserting she would find “dishonesty” there. He also told her that she had “the most important job...

On Monday’s The View, the liberal hosts were more upset at Sen. Ron Johnson [R-WI] making incendiary statements about Black Lives Matter and Antifa, than they were by scandal-plagued New York Governor Andrew Cuomo refusing to resign. Co-host Joy Behar was reluctant to see Cuomo go, because he had “good points” and a Republican would be far worse: What worries me is if he resigns and fast forward down the line a Republican becomes the governor of New York state a lot of things will happen that I won't be happy with. I mean, let's talk about for a second...

BERLIN (AP) – Two German state election defeats have put the spotlight on chances of a government without Chancellor Angela Merkel’s bloc after September’s national vote. A possible contender to succeed her said Monday that the center-right needs to raise its game to keep the country’s top job. Final results showed that Merkel´s Christian Democratic Union was handily defeated in Sunday´s elections by two popular incumbent state governors: the Green party´s Winfried Kretschmann in Baden-Wuerttemberg and the center-left Social Democrats´ Malu Dreyer in Rhineland-Palatinate.

New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio called for an investigation into the head of Gov. Andrew Cuomo's vaccination program, who had reportedly called county executives to see if they support Cuomo during his multiple scandals. According to The Washington Post, "vaccine czar" Larry Schwartz made the calls that made at least one county official fear that their response could jeopardize the county's ability to get vaccines and would impact the vaccine supply. "What we've heard about the governor and his team trying to link vaccine supply to political support, that is the definition of corruption," de Blasio said during...

After so many postponements, not many are hopeful that we will see cruising return this June. After another round of cancelations which saw Carnival Corporation, Norwegian Cruise Line, and Royal Caribbean cancel their voyages until the start of June 2021, is it realistic that cruising will return? If we look at the signs as they stand today, it seems optimistic. Each day we are starting to see more and more positive movements in the industry. Cruises in Israel and opening of cruising in the U.K., signs for the U.S. are looking better and better. We look at whether we can...

And amid the scandals, a new development emerged on Sunday that raised alarms: Larry Schwartz, a former top aide to Mr. Cuomo who was tapped to lead the state’s vaccination efforts, has also been asking state Democratic leaders to support the governor, while continuing to discuss the urgent business of immunization.

As the number of accusers grows, Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D-NY) has responded to the lurid details of his groping, pawing, squeezing, slobbering, and lewd language, saying "to think that my years of public service are being besmirched by a parade of hysterical women overreacting to my amorous advances is gut-wrenching." "His lack of self-awareness is stunning," said one of his accusers. "If he considers hearing his exploits 'gut-wrenching,' what about those on the receiving end of his unwelcome intrusions into our personal space?" Another accuser questioned Cuomo's knowledge of anatomy saying, "it wasn't my gut that he was wrenching. Bust-wrenching...

The author has decades of experience in aerospace strategic analysis, planning, and acquisition, as well as assessments of strategic and tactical capabilities. =============================================================== Recent public comments by the former acting Secretary of Defense Chris Miller, current Air Force leadership, and House Armed Services Committee Chairman Adam Smith illustrate what expert observers have predicted for two decades. The F-35 program and its basic design concepts are failures. Much less widely appreciated are some more somber realities. The strategic environment the F-35 was envisioned to defeat a quarter of a century ago no longer exists, making the...

WASHINGTON — Federal authorities arrested two men over the weekend on suspicion of assaulting Capitol police Officer Brian Sicknick and two others with bear mace during the Jan. 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol. Julian Elie Khater, 32, and George Piere Tanios, 39, were arrested Sunday and are expected to appear in federal court Monday, The Associated Press reported. In a criminal complaint obtained by The Washington Post, an FBI official said surveillance footage and other video showed Khater and Tanios talking Jan. 6 as supporters of President Donald Trump gathered at the Capitol.

A growing number of people who were approved for independent government positions must be feeling like they’re starring in a reboot of The Apprentice, with Joe Biden now playing Donald Trump’s old role. The common theme is that they all received the same message. You’re fired. Joining the list of the newly unemployed this month was Sharon Fast Gustafson, the former General Counsel for the Equal Opportunity Employment Commission. Gustafson wasn’t even two years into her four-year contract at the EEOC when she received a letter from the President requesting her resignation. She wrote back, saying that she intended to...

Joe Biden is planning to propose the first substantial federal tax hike since 1993 for Americans to help pay for his long-term economic program after he signed the largest stimulus package in U.S. history with a price tag of $1.9 trillion. Now the White House is preparing to roll out another sweeping plan to tackle infrastructure and the economic crisis, which some say could fall somewhere between the $2-$4 trillion mark. Biden plans to kick off his cross-country tour this week promoting and seeking to bolster enthusiasm for the coronavirus relief package, where the White House will also ensure he...

Globalization: A Catalyst for Terrorism, Global Instability, and World War: The object here is not to blame globalization for hostilities between cultures, nor to excuse hostile or malevolent reactions between cultures which are being exacerbated by the convergence of civilizations. Conflict with others who are different is innate between diverse people and cultures. However, the correlation between global conflict and the convergence of nations is worthy of consideration, not only to understand the source of tensions and global instability today, but also to understand how globalization is setting off different cultures into both aggressive and defensive modes. It is for...

For the uninitiated, a thin-skinned D-lister celebrity gave an interview to her billionaire talk show host friend about how austere aristocratic codes made her feel suffocated. This resulted in another talk show host, Piers Morgan, complaining on live television that there was a distinct possibility that the aforementioned celeb and her husband were perhaps full of it. Morgan’s exact phrase was that he “didn’t believe a word” of what Meghan Markle said. That bizarrely led to Meghan Markle complaining to the overarching supervisory media watchdog in Britain, which then led, nolens volens, to Morgan being fired. Enter Osbourne. Out of...

The Centers for Disease Control guidelines on social distancing may be changing again after a new study shows six feet of distance to avoid the spread of Wuhan coronavirus may not be necessary. During an interview with CNN over the weekend, Dr. Anthony Fauci acknowledged three feet of distance may be sufficient to reopen schools that remain closed. "There's this new study from researchers in Massachusetts, just out this week, it found no significant difference of coronavirus spread in schools where there was six feet of distancing vs. three feet of distancing. But that six foot requirement, that's one of...

Bun-kebabs, widely considered the most beloved Pakistani street food, are thin shami kebab or potato patties in fluffy, milky buns with tangy chutney and crisp vegetables. Optional fried eggs add an extra protein hit. The combination of explosive South Asian flavours, chutney-drenched buns and vegetarian options create a starkly different culinary experience from that of a burger. Ubiquitously available at kiosks and small shops or peddled on pushcarts throughout the country, they are generally sold for between 50 and 120 Pakistani rupees (£0.23-£0.55), depending on the neighbourhood. Some consider them Pakistan’s affordable (and zestier) answer to burgers Potato bun-kebabs have...

You can’t spend $1.9 trillion you do not have. So, now the administration is apparently giving weight to the likes of populist socialists like Senator Elizabeth Warren, and considering a wealth tax. When asked about the idea on ABC’s “This Week with George Stephanopoulos” Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen admitted that, “that is something we haven’t decided yet and we can look at.” She did note that President Biden campaigned on his intention to raise taxes for individuals and corporations as well as capital gains and dividend taxes. A group of progressive lawmakers led by Senator Warren recently introduced legislation that...

The Scriptures record that Adam was ashamed and hid. It’s a primal response. Shame is experienced as a burning sense of exposure and vulnerability. It begs to be clothed upon and hidden. It is possible to say that human beings have been playing “dress-up” ever since. This can be understood in a literal manner as we wrap ourselves in fashion statements or tattoo identities on our skin. It can also be seen in an extended manner as we borrow identities from the various “tribes” with which we identify ourselves. In a very personal way, it is a thought that enters...

One of the most significant reasons conservative populism began to rise in 2009 was that these people lacked a connection or commonality with our cultural curators, and they weren't wrong. The people who run things in this country have little in common with the very people who use their products or watch their shows or attend their football or basketball games. Part of that reason is the culture curator boardrooms have very little diversity — not only racial or by gender, but also in culture. Rare is someone who attended a community college or state school with any input in...
