Hillary Clinton is the latest public figure to weigh in on Oprah’s interview with Meghan Markle and Prince Harry. Clinton shared her thoughts on the treatment of the couple by family members and the British tabloids. “I found it so heart-rending to watch,” she said, adding it was “heartbreaking” that Meghan wasn’t accepted by not just by “the permanent bureaucracy that surrounds the royal family, but by the media in the UK.” Clinton continued, “You know I’ve had my time in the box with the British tabloids, as anybody who is in the public eye has had. And their cruelty...

Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) said Thursday that she was open to a “scenario” in which the Democrat-run House of Representatives would overturn a close Republican win in Iowa’s second congressional district. Pelosi, addressing reporters during her weekly press conference, was asked whether she could “see a scenario” in which Democrats would unseat Rep. Marianette Miller-Meeks (R-IA), who won by six votes, and replace her with Democrat Rita Hart. As Breitbart News reported Wednesday, the Committee on House Administration voted along party lines to continue an inquiry into the congressional race — even though Miller-Meeks had been found...

Jews furious at Vatican silence on exclusion from Abraham's birthplaceNASSIRIYA, Iraq (ChurchMilitant.com) - Jewish leaders are slamming Pope Francis' silence on Iraq's anti-Semitic policies after it emerged that the Iraqi government blocked Jews from attending the pontiff's interfaith service at the birthplace of Abraham. A delegation of Jews was unable to attend the "Abrahamic" event even though the Vatican had invited the representatives to be present because "the Iraqi government stymied efforts for any Jews to travel to Iraq," the Jerusalem Post reported Sunday. Multiple Jewish sources confirmed to Church Militant the veracity of the Jerusalem Post's report explaining that...

President Joe Biden issued an executive order authorizing free transgender surgery for all military personnel—both active duty and retired veterans. The surgery and follow-up lifelong hormone treatments can cost as much as $200,000 per patient. Biden called his action "both necessary from an equity standpoint and an augmentation of the unity my administration is determined to impose on this country." Press Secretary Jen Psaki rebuffed both critics' contentions that it is not the taxpayers' responsibility to fund this sort of elective surgery and questions about whether it detracts from the mission the armed forces are supposed to fulfill. "Historically, eunuchs...

Well, it's been a year since the World Health Organization declared COVID-19 to be a global pandemic. To commemorate the anniversary, President Joe Biden stayed awake long enough to give an approximately 25 minute speech, though, in a shock to no one, didn't take questions. On the surface, Biden and his supporters surely saw it as an attempt to exude hope to the American people. Key word, "an attempt." The idea of "unity" and "coming together" were mentioned throughout. If I had a nickel for every time I heard the phrase "unity," only to experience the opposite, I'd be a...

DUBLIN (CNS) — Cardinal Luis Antonio Tagle, head of the Vatican’s evangelization congregation, has expressed concern over the “hijacking” of religion by populist leaders who sow division and exploit the anger of those who feel excluded. Speaking after he delivered the 2021 Trócaire/St. Patrick’s College Maynooth annual Lenten lecture March 9 on “Caring for the Human Family and our Common Home,” the Filipino prelate warned, “There is a growing sense in the world today of divisiveness, and unfortunately religion is being used to further division; sometimes even within the same religious affiliation you have divisions.” Referring to the recent rise...

I knew Sarasota County Sheriff Kurt Hoffman was pro-gun — I’ve told you as much — but, damn! Hoffman recently sent a letter to Sarasota’s Brady Bunch chapter refusing their request for a meeting — and then he told them why. Enjoy! Dear Mr. McLain and Ms. Rescigno, Thank you for your recent request to meet. I am very familiar with the bradyunited.org 12- point platform and I have fundamental differences regarding nearly every objective of Brady. I am a member of the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms, the 2nd Amendment Foundation, in addition to...

...New presidents often take the opportunity to pass a so-called skinny budget as their own personal amendment to the ongoing fiscal year’s budget. Washington D.C., Mar 8, 2021 / 05:00 pm MT (CNA).- The Supreme Court on Monday allowed a former college student to pursue a remedy against school officials who restricted when and where he could evangelize on campus. In Uzuegbunam v. Preczewski, the court ruled 8-1 that Chike Uzuegbunam, who was restricted from evangelizing on a public college campus, could sue school officials for nominal damages due to an alleged violation of his free speech. Justice Clarence Thomas authored the majority opinion, while Chief Justice John Roberts was the lone dissenter. “To demonstrate standing, the plaintiff must not only establish an...

In keeping with his obstinate posture of denial and deflection, Gov. Andrew Cuomo has come up with a new excuse for his woes: cancel culture. Yes, Albany’s tyrant, accused now by seven women of sexual harassment, the target of a federal investigation into underreporting COVID-19 deaths in nursing homes, asked to resign by the majority of New York house Democrats and the National Organization for Women, abandoned by the New York Times, New York magazine and other house organs of the left-leaning media, subject of a just-opened police investigation in Albany — yes, Andrew Cuomo is simply a victim of...

Six elements of work cause burnout, Maslach says. The first is pure workload—having way too much to do. One reason people feel burned out right now is that they have been working longer hours during the pandemic. In addition to an overstretching of staff and resources, burnout “could also include a cutthroat, bottom-line, results-oriented culture,” Mandy O’Neill, a management professor at George Mason University, said on Harvard Business Review’s Women at Work podcast. The second factor is how much control or autonomy someone has over their work. As the Stanford organizational-behavior professor Jeffrey Pfeffer writes in his book Dying for...

WASHINGTON, March 7, 2021 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The Front Line COVID-19 Critical Care Alliance (FLCCC), a group of highly published, world-renowned critical care physicians and scholars, is troubled by the recently updated consumer guidance on Ivermectin from the FDA. The guidance from the FDA is misleading and has the potential to raise unwarranted concern over an important drug in the prevention and treatment of COVID-19.We support the FDA's direction that humans should never take medication formulations meant for animals. We also agree that self-dosing of medications without the guidance of a physician is potentially dangerous and could cause serious harm. However, the...

New York Sens. Chuck Schumer and Kirsten Gillibrand called on New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo to resign on Friday, saying he had lost the confidence of the public amid numerous accusations of sexual harassment — and worse — by former aides and others.''Confronting and overcoming the COVID crisis requires sure and steady leadership,'' the statement says. ''We commend the brave actions of the individuals who have come forward with serious allegations of abuse and misconduct.''Due to the multiple, credible sexual harassment and misconduct allegations, it is clear that Governor Cuomo has lost the confidence of his governing partners and the...

Edward “Butch” O’Hare was the Navy’s first flying ace, a World War II hero whose name would have been commonly known at the time, but has sadly faded out of view for most Americans. With severely limited ammunition supplies, he was able to shoot down five Japanese bombers, which is how he became the first Naval recipient of the Medal of Honor during the Second World War. But this was not his only brush with world history: His father, known around Chicago as “Easy Eddie,” was Al Capone’s high-powered attorney. Easy Eddie was so prized by Capone that he wasn’t...
