It is time to embrace what Thomas Jefferson called the “rightful remedy” for all federal usurpation of states’ domain: nullification

Myanmar’s military has seized power and declared a state of emergency for one year following days of escalating tension over the result of November’s parliamentary elections. Aung San Suu Kyi, the country’s de facto leader, President Win Myint, and other senior members of the National League for Democracy (NLD) party have been detained in the capital, Naypyidaw, on Monday. A video broadcast on military-owned television said power was handed to Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, commander-in-chief of the armed forces, citing “huge irregularities” in November’s vote. The power grab came as Parliament – in which the military is given 25...

Artist’s impression of Swift J1818.0–1607. (OzGrav/Carl Knox) ========================================================= New observations of a very unusual and mysterious star located approximately 15,000 light-years away from Earth have revealed a bizarre pattern of stellar activity that astronomers say they've never witnessed before. The star in question is called Swift J1818.0–1607, and it was only discovered last year. Swift J1818.0–1607 is what's known as a magnetar – a rare breed of neutron star, which forms when supergiant stars fail to go supernova, instead collapsing into incredibly dense cores. Unlike most neutron stars, however, magnetars are known for producing an extremely powerful magnetic field. Only...

You Guys Saved AMC. Now Save Movies.Build your own Hollywood—or else!I’m writing this on a manual typewriter a fellow dissident smuggled into my cell here at Gitmo. No one told me booing the TV while Biden stared at the camera was a dangerous act of insurrection, so here I am. The weather’s balmy and the food’s fresh. Try the goat, it’s delicious.Frankly, I don’t mind getting out of the house. I was stuck inside four walls with the kids for 10 months, so I’m treating this as a vacation—plus I got my COVID vaccine along with the other terrorists. Win-win!...

After four years of fighting, lies, cover ups, and lawsuits, a judge has finally ordered the FBI to produce the files relevant to the Seth Rich murder investigation. The Deep State has been hiding information about Seth Rich’s murder since it happened. It has become fodder for conspiracy theorists and caused much strife among conservatives who teeter back and forth between believing Rich was responsible for the DNC hacks and wanting to let the story go. But one man and his attorneys have continued to fight for the truth and it’s reportedly supposed to be released soon. Federal Judge Gives...

"Never allow a good crisis (to) go to waste. It's an opportunity to do the things you once thought were impossible." Thus did chief of staff Rahm Emanuel advise Barack Obama on the financial crisis he inherited in 2009. Following the Capitol riot by a mob of pro-Donald Trump protesters, the left took Rahm's counsel, seizing upon and exploiting the episode ever since to paint the right as America's safe harbor for "domestic terrorism." According to leftist columnists and commentators, going back to the '60s, the real threat of domestic terrorism has always come from the right. That is not,...

The Biggest and Nastiest White House Liar – Ever He’s our president now. Yes, Joe Biden – and it isn’t even close. Of course, Biden is widely regarded as an endangered species, a status that serves to protect him from criticism that would be directed at a younger, more mentally stable individual. Even his political opponents are somewhat wary of saying what a catastrophe and menace Biden and his presidency represent. Meanwhile, the whoring intellectual left at the Times and the Washington Post fawn all over this empty suit almost to the same degree that they have slandered Donald Trump...

Who cares if Joe Biden was just joshing when he said he wanted to govern in a bipartisan way, and represent those who voted against him, too? At least he didn't curse out Mitt Romney and Susan Collins when he met with them and other Republican senators at the White House yesterday. Ain't Joe wonderful? Unlike that other guy whose name shall not be mentioned. That was the gist of the coverage on MSNBC and CNN this morning regarding the White House meeting yesterday between Biden and 10 Republican senators regarding the Covid relief package. KASIE HUNT [Morning Joe]: After...

“The House impeachment managers urged senators to bar Trump from ever serving again in elected office: “This is not a case where elections alone are a sufficient safeguard against future abuse; it is the electoral process itself that President Trump attacked and that must be protected from him and anyone else who would seek to mimic his behavior. “

Monday on FNC’s “Fox News Primetime,” Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) criticized the merits of the impeachment articles brought against former President Donald Trump for allegations of incitement. Graham said the impeachment proceedings were unconstitutional and also questioned if Trump’s remarks qualified as a violation of the incitement statute.

The online brokerage Robinhood has taken out a full-page ad in the New York Times saying that it is 'humbled' after recent controversy over its limits on buying certain stocks during the 'meme stock' frenzy fueled by an army of small investors on Reddit. The ad on Tuesday follows massive backlash against the popular trading app, which at one point last week restricted the purchase of 50 different stocks as it struggled to meet capital requirements. Shares of GameStop, the struggling video game retailer that was the focus of a buying campaign on the Reddit forum WallStreetBets, slid another 40...

The New York Times explained how the government poured $18.5 billion into experimental, fast-tracked vaccines, leaving doctors with “woefully few” drugs to treat the sick. But the author neglected to explain why that happened. [snip]Lipkin told Maddow: “We are not investing as much in tried and true classical sort of methods, repurposing drugs and strategies that have already been shown to work. Most of our investment is in things which are sexy, new and patentable.”

Burke warned us this might happen. No, not Tom Brady…although the 18th-century Anglo-Irish statesman’s penchant for the ancient and tried would have likely led him to predict that the “GOAT” was capable of another Super Bowl run. Rather, I’m talking about the increasing subjugation of America’s dominant cultural and political institutions to a suffocating wokeism. Indeed, reading Reflections on the Revolution in France afresh in 2021, one wonders if the good Lord gave Edmund Burke a John-the-Revelator apocalyptic vision of what the West was in for. Perhaps if he was this prescient regarding the problem, Burke might also have the...

When giving speeches and talking to audiences, I've often been struck by how few Americans, even those who are highly educated, have any idea where the energy they use in their home or business comes from. I've asked college students where the electric power is generated, and they shrug and then point to the electric socket in the wall. The electric currents just come magically through that plug. For millennials, supporting green energy is cool and even virtuous. It's a popular and costless way to save the planet -- until the power doesn't flow through the grid. Then the laptops,...

It has also been deemed to be safe - and offer complete protection against hospitalisation and death. The vaccine was initially met with some controversy after being rolled out before the final trial data had been released. But scientists said its benefit has now been demonstrated. ... The Sputnik vaccine works in a similar way to the Oxford/AstraZeneca jab developed in the UK, and the Janssen vaccine developed in Belgium. It uses a cold-type virus, engineered to be harmless, as a carrier to deliver a small fragment of the coronavirus to the body. ... But unlike other similar vaccines, the...

District attorneys implementing liberal agendas in some of America’s biggest cities oversaw soaring homicide counts last year and are now being hit with lawsuits and recriminations from police agencies. ---SNIP--- Ms. Hanisee echoed complaints from police and prosecutors in Philadelphia, Chicago, Los Angeles and St. Louis — all cities that witnessed record homicide rates in 2020 or enormous increases from the previous year’s tally. The homicide sprees in those four cities occurred on the watch of district attorneys who came to power with the help of political action committees bankrolled by billionaire liberal activist George Soros, who increasingly devotes his...
