A snack business created by a woman in Tulsa has gone national after it was featured on QVC. The little company, Carla’s Crazy Crunch, was almost crushed after a legal battle with a massive corporation, all because of its name. The end of the name – Crunch – is why the Nestle Food company claimed trademark infringement. Ironically, what could have been a dead end for the Tulsa company, turned out to be the biggest thing that happened to them. In Carla Robinson's wildest dreams, she never imagined she would be on QVC, describing her homemade sweet snack to thousands....

“The finest impression of a 215-million-year-old dinosaur print found in Britain in a decade”A four-year-old girl has stunned paelontologists after finding an “internationally important” dinosaur footprint on a trip to the supermarket. Lily Wilder, from Llandough, was walking along the coast between Barry and Sully with her father Richard when she spotted what experts from Archaeology Cymru are calling “the finest impression of a 215 million-year-old dinosaur print found in Britain in a decade”. The perfect print, which her family initially thought may have been created by an artist, was left by a small bipedal dinosaur. Experts call this type...

Authorities in Indonesia’s Aceh province publicly caned six people accused of breaching Islamic law, including two men who received 77 lashes for having a same sex relationship, in a punishment Human Rights Watch called “public torture”. Aceh is the only province in majority-Muslim Indonesia to follow Islamic law, and this was the third such caning since Aceh outlawed homosexuality in 2014. The province, on the northern tip of Sumatra island, also imposes caning for crimes such as theft, gambling and adultery. A hooded religious police officer carried out Thursday’s floggings, watched by a crowd wearing face masks. One of the...

A Buddhist monk known for his support for LGBT+ rights has sparked outrage among conservatives after he called for Thailand to decriminalise abortion. Phra Shine Waradhammo was among about 20 pro-choice activists who protested in front of the Thai parliament this week, calling for all penalties to be revoked for women who choose to terminate a pregnancy. “People were calling me ‘garbage’ and a ‘hungry ghost in a saffron robe’ on Facebook,” the 52-year-old monk said on Friday, referring to comments under a photo of him holding a “stop condemning abortion” placard at the demonstration.

“The coming years will decide the survival of our Second Amendment,” President Trump warned before the election. Trump was right. During the 2020 campaign, Joe Biden promised a long list of gun control regulations. There is a reason that Michael Bloomberg spent $125 million helping Biden in Florida and something over $600 million nationally in the general election. The agenda includes: classifying many semi-automatic rifles and magazines holding more than 10 bullets as Class 3 weapons (which can require nine months or more for approval and a $200 fee), national gun licensing, “red flag” laws that let judges take away...

San Francisco Deadheads, you might just end up having the perfect school to enroll your children in. Jerry Garcia, the frontman of the Bay Area band that rose to fame as a part of the counterculture in the 1960s, is one of multiple figures in consideration to get a school renamed after them following the San Francisco Unified School District board’s decision Tuesday to rename 44 of their schools, as reported by the San Francisco Chronicle.

More than a week into his administration, President Joe Biden’s legislative agenda seems to have hit a wall in Congress. Biden, who served in the United States Senate for 36 years before his ascension to the vice presidency, was pitched as a “master legislator” by allies and supporters during the 2020 campaign. The president, himself, bolstered that image with constant references to his history of working across the aisle to craft bipartisan compromise. “Compromise is not a dirty word, it’s how our government is designed to work,” Biden told the National Education Association last July. “I’ve done it my whole...

This week, a small contingent of retail stock traders discovered that big hedge funds had taken large short positions on several stocks. In some cases, the shares shorted exceeded the total number of shares issued by the companies. "Shorting" means selling stock you don't own. With the cooperation of market opinion makers, negative assessments can be created and circulated driving the share prices down. The hedge fund that shorted the stock can then close the deal by buying the shares at a lower price and net billions in profits. This time, though, outsiders used the large short position in GameStop...

Seawater makes up about 96% of all water on earth, making it a tempting resource to meet the world’s growing need for clean drinking water and carbon-free energy. And scientists already have the technical ability to both desalinate seawater and split it to produce hydrogen, which is in demand as a source of clean energy. But existing methods require multiple steps performed at high temperatures over a lengthy period of time in order to produce a catalyst with the needed efficiency. That requires substantial amounts of energy and drives up the cost. Researchers from the University of Houston have reported...

Energy: Energy independence is imperative to American economic success. After decades of Democrat-led attacks on the energy sector, President Trump did everything necessary from a government perspective to enable the real American energy sector (oil, gas and coal) to succeed. The Biden/Harris administration is working as fast as possible to undo all this progress. Crime: A crime problem is much bigger than just the specific individual criminal and victim involved in a given mugging, burglary or rape. A crime problem contributes to the destruction of a neighborhood, the loss of jobs in a community as employers flee, the widening of...

In 2021, for the first time in nearly half a century, there won’t be a “March for Life.” Like so much in our world today, this year’s pro-life protest will be virtual — but that doesn’t necessarily mean it’ll be less memorable. For instance, even those who aren’t in attendance virtually will be able to see Sen. James Lankford’s impassioned pro-life speech Wednesday marking the upcoming occasion from the Senate floor on YouTube. Lankford, an Oklahoma Republican, used the occasion to ask “the only question” about the abortion debate: When we look at a fetus in the womb, “is that...
