The pods, which are made from wood and steel, were put in parks and other places, a spokesman for the city said. To shield the homeless from the wind and cold, the beds have been equipped with thermal insulation. They are also big enough for use by two individuals. There are no cameras, and when they are in use, sensors are triggered. Those behind the project, amid some delays, announced that they had eventually been rolled out just as the weather began to take a turn for the worse.

"Either the Constitution matters and must be followed . . . or it is simply a piece of parchment on display at the National Archives." — Texas v. Pennsylvania et al. Texas v. Pennsylvania et al. did not deny setting rules for the 2020 election contrary to the Constitution. On December 10, 2020, the Supreme Court discounted that. By refusing to interfere as America’s ruling oligarchy serves itself, the court archived what remained of the American republic’s system of equal justice. That much is clear.

In the 1980s an idea was conceived by military planners to develop a hypersonic spy plane that could reach Mach 5+, making it truly the fastest manned aircraft ever to fly. While there have been reported sightings of the prototypes, the SR-91 Aurora, if it even existed, likely never made it much best the concept stage.

“Cuba is hopeful U.S. President Joe Biden will swiftly reverse his predecessor’s hard-line approach toward the Communist-run island and resume the policy of detente begun by the Obama administration, a top official in Havana told Reuters. Carlos Fernandez de Cossio, Cuba’s top diplomat in charge of relations with the United States, said Biden’s pledges suggested he wanted to restart where he and Obama left off.” (Reuters 1/21.)We bet! Who can blame the terror-sponsoring Cubans for salivating at the looming diplomatic windfall! The proverbial Martian visiting earth would instantly see that in any diplomatic poker-playing between the U.S. and Cuba, we held...

Several lawmakers expressed outrage following a report that National Guard troops had been “banished” to a parking garage after serving to defend against potential threats at the inauguration of President Biden. Politico reported Thursday night that U.S. Capitol Police officials had the Guard troops removed from the facilities “sending them outdoors or to nearby parking garages after two weeks pulling security duty” following the Capitol riots in early January. The report notes that outdoor temperatures in the area fell into the 40s, while conditions inside the parking garage for one unit of 5,000 consisted of just one electrical outlet and...

Just catching up to a crazy story from earlier in the week that’s pretty important not to skip over, giving all that has been going on with the National Guard. Now, there were a lot of questions about the need of having such a massive buildup of 25,000 troops in Washington, D.C to protect the Capitol. But apparently that wasn’t all that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) wanted, according to Ken Cuccinelli, the former Acting Deputy Homeland Security Secretary. According to Cuccinelli, not only did Pelosi want all those troops, “a division,” to protect the Capitol, but she also wanted...

Source: Official White House Photo by Shealah CraigheadIt's difficult to put into words what is so distasteful about The Lincoln Project. Not that the words don't come to mind; they do, almost too readily. But seeing them all put down, next to each other – it starts to feel a little cruel. The obvious starting point is last week’s revelation that Lincoln Project co-founder John Weaver allegedly offered young men jobs in exchange for sex. Those reports were enough to elicit criticism even from the left-wing press, which had previously fawned over the Lincoln Project for months. But the truth...

White House press secretary Jen Psaki said she hasn’t spoken with President Joe Biden about the recent unrest in the Pacific Northwest, adding that the situation is being monitored by the national security team. Psaki made the remarks at a Friday press briefing at the White House, where she was asked by a reporter whether Biden had any comment “on the ongoing violence in Oregon and Washington state that we’ve seen in recent days.” “I haven’t spoken with him specifically about those events, but it is something our national security team—Liz Sherwood-Randall, our Homeland Security Adviser—is closely monitoring,” Psaki replied....

Thank goodness our Figurehead New World Order el Presidente (FINWOP) has rejoined the Paris Climate Accord and the World Health Organization. That means we can have nice things again. Such as indoor dining** which in Democrat states has become as rare as free speech and other First Amendment rights. Now that Trump is gone – quelle surprise! – Covid is not so scary. We’ve got the new vaccines, the number of Covid positives and deaths appear to have been overstated and now we can get about reopening the economy. Transparency, – it’s back baby! And every bit as transparent as...

Any doubt that the Biden Administration plans to slowly regulate fossil fuels out of existence vanished this week. First came the Keystone XL pipeline kill, but perhaps more significant is the 60-day freeze on new leases on federal lands and bureaucratic permitting. The pause could soon become a long-term ban. Federal lands account for about 22% of U.S. oil production, 12% of natural gas and 40% of coal. When the Obama Administration slowed oil and gas permitting on federal land, drilling and exploration shifted to private land. The Biden Administration may shut that down too. Start with the 60-day suspension...

The Biden presidency, we’re told, is a historic win for women. With Kamala Harris as his Madam Vice President and a record number of women in his Cabinet, the new commander in chief is advancing the female cause. “This is what breaking the glass ceiling looks like,” Sen. Amy Klobuchar enthused on Inauguration Day. As is often the case, the gratuitous symbolic victories distract from more significant, material losses. Hours after Harris became the first female vice president, Biden signed an executive order that discriminates against her entire sex. The directive, titled “Preventing and Combating Discrimination on the Basis of...
