New York Mayor Bill de Blasio (D) on Tuesday called for a travel ban from the United Kingdom over a variant strain of the Chinese coronavirus — one that is reportedly more transmissible — referring to it as the “new foe.” “Right now you can still get on a plane in London and not even have proof you have a negative test, then come to New York City and merrily spread the disease,” he said during Tuesday’s press conference, asking why that is occurring.

President Donald Trump's last-minute legal bid to overturn the 2020 election result in Georgia was denied by a federal judge on Tuesday. Ruling from the bench, U.S. District Judge Mark Cohen rejected the president's request for an emergency injunction to order the state legislature to choose a new slate of electors before the mandated congressional count takes place on January 6. The lawsuit was filed by Trump on New Year's Eve and accused Georgia officials of violating the state's election code in the handling and counting of mail-in ballots. The lawsuit also alleged state leaders conducted an "improper certification of...

A critically acclaimed young adult author has been “canceled” and dropped by her agent after vociferously defending classic books in a Twitter-fueled rage. Jessica Cluess, the author of the popular “Kingdom of Fire” series (among others) picked a fight with an anti-racist and anti-bias educator Lorena Germán who founded the #DisruptTexts movement which aims to get more works by people of color into schools and to look critically at works by famous white “classic” authors. “Did y’all know that many of the ‘classics’ were written before the 50s? Think of US society before then & the values that shaped this...

Opinion writer Bari Weiss got chased out of The New York Times for her political views — not because she’s an uncompromising conservative, but because she is a moderate. In our team-sports era of politics as tribal warfare, we’re expected to be all-in for one side or the other. Figures such as Weiss or slightly nonconforming public figures such as author J. K. Rowling (a liberal feminist who expresses some reservations about transgender orthodoxy) or Goya CEO Robert Unanue (whose firm is being boycotted because he said something nice about Donald Trump) are a problem for the cheap moralists and...

A COVIDIAC NEW YEAR: Lost in a MaskeradeAre we really happy here / With this lonely game we play? / Looking for words to say / Searching but not finding understanding anywhere / We’re lost in a masquerade.-George Benson__________Remember me? I used to write regularly for this newspaper until the advent of COVID-19 and the overnight installation of police states by Democrat governors (and their counterparts throughout the Western world) on the pretext of “containing the spread of the virus”—an effort that has proven about as successful as containing the spread of malicious gossip. Having joined the Thomas More Society...

Dear friends, in light of today's Georgia elections and Electoral College vote count on the 6th, all that is now left to do is to continue to petition our Heavenly Father for our nation in light of our current dire national situation and dilemma that engulfs our land and media (Psalm 64, Phil. 4:6-7). I truly believe Almighty God has now allowed the full EXPONENTIAL weight and consequences of the past decades of lawlessness to fully reveal itself along with its lawless tyrannical chains of hopelessness! All systems are "now go!" for the godless and lawless demonic American Left! All...

U.S.—Kamala Harris chuckles as she tells the story. Not the chuckle of an insincere politician making up a story to appeal to her base, but the chuckle of a warm, loving woman. The kind of chuckle you would chuckle while hanging out with your family or locking up non-violent drug offenders for decades. She recalled in her interview with The Babylon Bee how as a little girl she helped slaves escape to the North on the "undewgwound wailwoad." (Did we mention how warm and sincere she was? It was like talking to your best bud). "My parents were pushing me...

President-elect Joe Biden sparked outrage among activists when, a month before Inauguration Day, he retreated from his promise to unravel President Trump’s restrictive immigration regime on Day One. Instead, he suggested, the Biden administration would undo Trump’s actions over a period of months, thus avoiding a rush of “2 million people on our border” and the ensuing chaos in the opening days of his presidency. U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) statistics show that apprehensions at the southern border were at an eight-year high in October and November; December data will likely reflect similar activity. A new wave of migrant...

@barnes_law Typical of a Cheney, @RepLizCheney lies. Here are the facts: electoral challenges were recommended by Alexander Hamilton in 1796, considered by Jefferson in 1800, and mounted by Congress members for 1808, 1812, 1820, 1836, 1854, 1872, 1876, 2000 & 2004. GENEVA (AP) — The head of the World Health Organization said Tuesday that he is “disappointed” Chinese officials haven’t finalized the permissions to allow a team of experts into China to examine the origins of COVID-19. “Annus Horribilis” for the Vatican Secretariat of State. But It’s Not OverOn what remains of the legendary, omnipotent secretariat of state, the coup de grace fell between Christmas and New Year, with the “motu proprio” of Pope Francis that carried away the strongbox with everything it contained, meaning a good part of that billion and 400 million euros that Cardinal George Pell - during the few months at the beginning of the pontificate when he was able to act with the pope’s full mandate to clean house - had uncovered outside the official Vatican budgets. From now on, therefore, what was...

Officers have been stationed at 40 polling locations in Georgia after threats were made concerning Georgia’s Senate runoff elections Tuesday, The Hill has reported. The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office said Sunday that they were made aware of an email that went to several county employees “regarding threats to polling locations on election day.” Employees at several other counties received the same email. The FBI and Georgia Bureau of Investigation are investigating the threats, according to The Hill. The source of the emails has not been identified, and the sheriff’s office did not elaborate on the threats, per reports. Both President...

If they won’t stand against a rigged presidential election, they certainly won’t stand against Joe Biden and the Democrats. It should surprise no one that the Republican Senate—the most inept collection of politicians in recent memory—will end the Trump era in a state of disarray, discord, and dysfunction. What Americans have witnessed over the past four years, as I’ve written several times, is a textbook example of political power squandered. Republican senators, rather than maximize the unexpected gift of a Republican White House, Senate, and House of Representatives to advance long-promised “conservative” policies, wasted the opportunity while giving political cover to both...

"I do not accept that premise on Antifa and BLM, and I don't know that to be the case. But whether it's the case or not; that a member of Congress would suggest that people ought to go to the streets and be as violent as some other group is absolutely astounding, extraordinarily disappointing and worthy of sanction by the Congress of the United States," Hoyer said.
