There is a certain historical irony in the same movement that fought to give every rapist and killer the right to a free lawyer is now working to take away the right of people they don't like to be able to pay for a lawyer. But that is the basic trajectory of the Left. 1. Turn a legal right into an entitlement 2. Make the entitlement dependent on a political test rather than an objective service The steepness of the rate of descent is all the more notable when you consider that four years ago the right to an...

“I don’t for a single second say that all white people are privileged. Of course not. But there are benefits even if you come from a low income and you’re white. You’re never judged on your race,” she claimed, adding: “You may be discriminated against because of class, you may be discriminated against because of your age, you may be discriminated against because of gender, size, etc, but you will never be discriminated against because of your race and that in itself feeds into the concept of white privilege.” This is arguably not the case at the BBC, however, which...

Inauguration Day and the weeks that follow should be a time for the new president to unite the country and build an agenda that crosses party lines. Unfortunately, it seems Joe Biden plans to take the opposite approach, having promised to immediately rescind the Protecting Life in Global Health Assistance Policy, better known as the Mexico City policy. As millions of Americans are hurting because of the coronavirus, Biden appears hell-bent on cancelling an extraordinarily effective and life-giving policy. President Ronald Reagan originally enacted the Mexico City policy to ensure unwilling American taxpayers didn’t fund overseas abortions. Every Republican president...

Jessica Duran wavered back and forth about aborting her unborn baby as she sat inside a New Mexico abortion facility in 2012. Though she eventually told the abortion workers to go through with the abortion, Duran said she still felt unsure; she even spit out the abortion pills that they gave her. But instead of encouraging her to take a few days to reconsider, Duran said the abortion staff coerced her into aborting her unborn child. On Tuesday, the pro-life group Abortion on Trial shared Duran’s story and the medical records from her abortion at Southwestern Women’s Options in Albuquerque....

I’ve often said the world needs more babies and Christmas trees. Each adds a brilliant splendor to our world. Having a passion for babies and Christmas, I work full-time to protect them, and in our home we have three Christmas trees in all their splendor. One of my favorite things to do every year is to remove each ornament from its box and recall when, where and how we acquired it. We are like the ornaments on God’s Christmas tree. Regardless of how many He has, our Heavenly Father knows the when, where, and how each of us was welcomed...

Ford Fischer who has done a lot of coverage of Antifa and Black Lives Matter may have come across something interesting when it comes to the bombing in Nashville this morning. One of the most unusual things about the Nashville bombing was that there were reportedly gun shots before hand and then a recording in the RV which warned people to evacuate out of the area before the RV blew up. But then on top of that, Fischer noticed something else odd. Many in media have been sharing a viral video of the explosion area, taken from across the street,...

Egypt today hanged 15 Islamic militants convicted of a 2013 attack on an army checkpoint that killed nine. Hanged in simultaneous mass executions at Borj al-Arab and Wadi al-Natroun prisons, the accused ISIS/ISIL fighters might have been selected to ornament Cairo’s public present-day crackdown on the Islamist movement and the restive Sinai, on the heels of a Bir al-Abed mosque attack last month that claimed more than 300 lives. An attorney representing the hanged men claims that the execution was irregularly expedited a mere six days after the death warrants were approved, instead of the mandatory 15; if true, according...
