President Donald Trump has asked Texas Sen. Ted Cruz to argue the state’s Supreme Court case seeking to overturn the results of the election, reports The New York Times. The state of Texas is suing four swing states that certified wins for Joe Biden. Attorney General Ken Paxton in the suit filed earlier this week argued that a handful of battleground states destroyed the integrity of the 2020 election vote totals and insists the U.S. Constitution was violated by allowing their legislatures to make last-minute changes that ignored federal electoral regulations. Cruz on Monday offered to present before the Supreme...

The Nevada Supreme Court rejected President Donald Trump’s appeal on Tuesday to overturn the results of the Nov. 3 election. It comes a week after a district court in Nevada ruled that the Trump campaign has not proven allegations there were errors in voting machines or that the contest between Trump and Democrat Joe Biden was manipulated. “We also are not convinced that the district court erred in applying a burden of proof by clear and convincing evidence, as supported by the cases cited in the district court’s order,” Nevada’s Supreme Court said in its judgment (pdf) late on Tuesday....

After Axios reported on Tuesday that a Chinese spy had been romantically involved with Democrat Rep. Eric Swalwell (CA), a member of the House Intelligence Committee, Georgia Democrat Senate candidate Jon Ossoff is coming under fire after allegedly hiding his own ties to a pro-Chinese Communist Party (CCP) media company. Georgia GOP officials had filed a complaint accusing Ossoff of knowingly failing to disclose payments from a pro-CCP media company, PCCW Media Limited, in his May 2020 campaign financial disclosure. Ossoff amended the filing in July to reflect receiving the payments. The spy at the center of the Swalwell scandal,...

During this presidential campaign, Republicans have vigorously charged that the Democrats are trying to win the election by the using fraudulent mail-in ballots. As these charges and counter-charges are hotly disputed, some pundits refer to the 1960 presidential election that pitted Richard Nixon against John Kennedy, where Republicans claimed that the Democrat had won the contest by fraud. These allegations on behalf of Kennedy primarily focused on the voting in Illinois and Texas. In the former, Chicago mayor Richard Daley ran Kennedy’s statewide campaign. Even before ballots were cast, Republicans asserted that there was going to be fraud, and immediately...

Iran is sending Venezuelan dictator Nicolas Maduro’s socialist regime weapons and troops, a top U.S. military official told the Wall Street Journal Wednesday. “We see a growing Iranian influence in there,” the head of the U.S. Southern Command, Admiral Craig Faller, told the Journal. “We’re real [sic] concerned about what Iran is up to, not just globally, but here in this hemisphere.” He went on to cite the “alarming and concerning” arrival of military personnel from the elite Quds Force of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), notorious for its terrorist activities in other countries including Syria and Iraq. The GOP has filed a lawsuit in Georgia to ensure that election law is properly followed in the January runoff election. The suit was filed on Tuesday and includes allowing proper access for poll-watchers as well as creating greater restrictions, including ballot box surveillance. The RNC stated they believe if nothing is done then serious problems, like those present in the presidential election, will reoccur in the Georgia runoff race. During the November election, Republican poll-watchers were often not close enough to observe the counting of the votes or weren’t allowed in the building at all. This made it difficult...

The first thing to notice about Texas’s desperation lawsuit, which seeks to overturn the result of the 2020 presidential election, is what does not appear on the front page: the name of the state’s solicitor general, Kyle Hawkins. The lawsuit is brought against four other states — Pennsylvania, Georgia, Michigan, and Wisconsin — that have certified Joe Biden as the winner of their electoral votes. Thus, Texas attorney general Ken Paxton invokes the original jurisdiction of the United States Supreme Court to hear disputes between states. Yet the brief is not signed by the lawyer who typically represents Texas before...

Although November has come and gone, control of the U.S. Senate is still up in the air. In what are perhaps the most consequential run-off elections in modern U.S. political history, Democrats Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock will try to unseat Republican incumbents David Perdue and Kelly Loeffler, and give President-Elect Joe Biden a trifecta control of the government in 2021. Republicans already have 50 Senate seats, so winning either of the races would given them continued control. If Democrats win both, the parties will be split at 50/50, and voting ties are broken by the Vice President, who will...

Venezuelan socialist dictator Nicolás Maduro once again personally accused Colombian President Iván Duque on Tuesday of plotting his assassination, this time allegedly during the fraudulent legislative elections Maduro organized Sunday. The Spanish news agency EFE noted Maduro has claimed to be the target of an assassination plot over 40 times since he succeeded late socialist dictator Hugo Chávez in 2013. While Maduro has blamed most of those alleged plots on the United States, he has increasingly accused Colombia of being a willing accomplice. Maduro has presented no verifiable evidence for any of his alleged assassination plots. The democratically elected government...

After going quiet in the months before the election, federal authorities are now actively investigating the business dealings of Hunter Biden, a person with knowledge of the probe said. His father, President-elect Joe Biden, is not implicated. Now that the election is over, the investigation is entering a new phase. Federal prosecutors in Delaware, working with the IRS Criminal Investigation agency and the FBI, are taking overt steps such as issuing subpoenas and seeking interviews, the person with knowledge said. Activity in the investigation had gone covert in recent months due to Justice Department guidelines prohibiting overt actions that could...
