Barack Obama's team thought it was 'unseemly' when Hunter Biden joined the board of a Ukrainian energy company while his father Joe was helping decide policy for the Eastern European country. The former President's advisers were 'bothered' that Hunter took the job with Burisma in 2014, a new book claims. At the time his father, who is now the Democrat Presidential candidate, was playing a 'central role' in overseeing US policy in the region.

Journalist Glenn Greenwald has resigned from news outlet The Intercept which he co-founded after claiming he was being silenced over an article on Presidential candidate Joe Biden. He says he was told his article would only be published if critical points against the Democratic candidate were removed and he says this forms part of a US media conspiracy of silence over Hunter Biden's laptops and the serious questions Joe still has to answer over his son's sketchy Chinese and Ukrainian business deals. He argues that political censorship has 'contaminated virtually every mainstream centre-left political organization, academic institution and newsroom.'

The Post gained about 190,000 Twitter followers while it was locked out of its primary account by the social media giant, data shows. That number represents a 10.6 percent increase in just about two weeks, according to analytics tool Social Blade. Four first-term City Council members in Philadelphia vowed Friday to continue pushing for cuts to the city police department’s budget – during a week that saw more than 200 stores looted in reaction to the Monday police-shooting death of Walter Wallace Jr. The four councilmembers – Kendra Brooks, Jamie Gauthier, Katherine Gilmore Richardson and Isaiah Thomas – pledged their support for police cuts and other changes during an online call with local political activists, the Philadelphia Inquirer reported.
