The heads of both the Jewish Community Relations Council and the New York Board of Rabbis said they’ve sought sit-downs with the first-term “Democratic socialist” congresswoman — to no avail. “I requested a meeting with her and it has not come to fruition,” JCRC executive director Michael Miller told The Post. “A meeting has been requested on more than one occasion. The Baseball Writers' Association of America overwhelmingly voted in favor of removing the name of Judge Kenesaw Mountain Landis from the MVP awards for both the American League and National League, it was announced Friday. Of the 313 votes, 89% were in favor of removing Landis' name from the awards. The MVP plaques will be nameless in 2020. Earlier this year, former NL MVPs Barry Larkin, Mike Schmidt and Terry Pendleton told The Associated Press they would favor removing Landis' name because of concerns over his handling of Black players.

CHICAGO -- Violence in Chicago continued to decline with the cooler weather in September, but shootings and murders have spiked 50% since last year, according to police statistics released Thursday.
