When soldiers saw the donkey on the road, they shot at it. Explosives then went off and the militants immediately came out from their hide-out to open fire on the convoy, an official who was in one of the vehicles in Governor Zulum's convoy told the BBC.

Cindy McCain, Sen. John McCain’s (R-AZ) widow, said on Tuesday broadcast of MSNBC’s “Andrea Mitchell Reports” that she is supporting former Vice President Joe Biden because President Donald Trump has a “lack of empathy” and “kindness.” McCain said, “Well, I think Joe Biden’s purpose tonight is to talk directly to the American people and let them know where he stands and what he believes and where he feels he can lead this country if elected president. He’s up against an opponent that has a very special relationship with the truth. So I think as long as he focuses on what...

President Trump is calling for a “review” of Rep. Ilhan Omar following reports of alleged “ballot harvesting” in the Minnesota congresswoman’s district. The New York Post reports that Project Veritas, the controversial undercover video production company, claims to have uncovered a scheme in which hundreds of ballots are being illegally harvested from elderly Somali immigrants. “Numbers don’t lie,” says one of the individuals captured on video as he displays hundreds of envelopes on his car’s dashboard. He asserts that they are for Minneapolis City Council member Jamal Osman. “You can see my car is full. All these here are absentee...

Gov. Andrew Cuomo suggested Tuesday that the state could send in the National Guard to help clean up piles of garbage that have mounted in some New York City neighborhoods during the pandemic. "I don't know what's going on in New York City," the governor said in a news conference Tuesday afternoon. "If they can't do it, I have offered to send in the National Guard to come help pick up the garbage. The state can bring in trucks, personnel and clean up the city." Complaints of trash pileups have been reported citywide over the summer, coinciding with a $106...

The return address on the envelope sent to U.S President Donald Trump from Canada — containing a potentially deadly poison — included a postal code leading right to the Quebec apartment the RCMP searched last week, where traces of ricin were allegedly found. The surprising inclusion of such a potentially incriminating clue suggests the sender wasn’t intent on remaining anonymous for long, or masking their preparation for what a U.S. judge characterized as an assassination attempt. The strange letter inside, seen here for the first time, is handwritten in English in all capital letters. It is stained in blotches and...

ABC's chief global affairs correspondent Martha Raddatz reports “there wasn't a whole lot of enthusiasm for Joe Biden" during her recent 6,000-mile road trip across America, and that the economy is voters’ main focus. The report from Raddatz comes as President Trump and Biden, the Democratic nominee, square off tonight in Cleveland in the first of their three scheduled presidential debates.

With precious little comment from the mainstream media, American progressives have disavowed Atticus Finch and aligned themselves with the mob in front of the county jail — this summer, the mob calling for the head of whichever white cop Benjamin Crump has chosen to lynch. This is no small transition. The Atticus of To Kill a Mockingbird (not the buzzkill Atticus of the Harper Lee’s earlier effort, Go Set a Watchman) defies the racist mob and demands due process. Crump stirs up the racist mob and subverts due process. Atticus leads with evidence. Crump leads with accusations. Atticus sticks to...

In the '08 campaign, Republican Sen. Norm Coleman was running for re-election against Democrat Al Franken... ... an election that was decided by 312 votes. With 1,099 examples identified by Minnesota Majority, and with evidence suggesting that felons, when they do vote, strongly favor Democrats, it doesn't require a leap to suggest there might one day be proof that Al Franken was elected on the strength of voter fraud... Franken's victory gave Senate Democrats a 60th vote in favor of President Obama's national health care proposal -- the deciding vote to overcome a Republican filibuster. If Coleman had kept his...

Your son Hunter Biden received a $3.5 million wire transfer from a Russian billionaire who was married to the former mayor of Moscow. He also had a joint bank account with a Chinese national that financed $100,000 in credit card purchases around the world. This all happened while you were Vice President. Why would people connected to the Russian and Chinese governments want to give your son millions of dollars? You recently said you “got started” at Delaware State University, an HBCU. The school says they have no record of you ever attending. What did you major in there? In...

How many non-citizens participate in U.S. elections? More than 14 percent of non-citizens in both the 2008 and 2010 samples indicated that they were registered to vote. Furthermore, some of these non-citizens voted. Our best guess, based upon extrapolations from the portion of the sample with a verified vote, is that 6.4 percent of non-citizens voted in 2008 and 2.2 percent of non-citizens voted in 2010. Because non-citizens tended to favor Democrats (Obama won more than 80 percent of the votes of non-citizens in the 2008 CCES sample), we find that this participation was large enough to plausibly account for...

It is interesting anyway. Watch the difference in Covid totals, I am not saying any country wants to 'take the lead' in this category. But watch, nevertheless. India seems poised to, at least, challenge America, at this questionable total.

These Pre-Code movies bring the hard-working actress of the Great Depression to our current one.Victoria Wilson’s biography of Barbara Stanwyck is titled Steel-True; if Stanwyck was all steely integrity, her friend and occasional co-star, Joan Blondell (1906-79), might have been likened to gleaming brass. As a comedian, entertainer, and dramatic actor, Blondell mirrored Stanwyck’s independence, especially during the Pre-Code cinema era of the early 1930s. The Criterion Channel offers a baker’s dozen of Blondell’s films, released from 1931-34. These are brief, fast flicks — Big City Blues (1931), for example, is just over an hour long. They can be consumed...

CLEVELAND — Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden released his 2019 tax returns Tuesday afternoon, just hours before his first debate with President Trump in Cleveland. “The American people deserve transparency from their leaders, it’s why as of today, I’ve released 22 years of my tax returns,” Biden tweeted Tuesday, 48 hours after the New York Times published leaked portions of what it said were the commander-in-chief’s financial records. The former veep and wife Jill Biden declared a gross income of $985,233 in 2019 and paid $299,346 in federal income tax, according to the financial disclosures published on the campaign website....
