The Green Bay Packers have failed Aaron Rodgers and continued to fail him during the 2020 NFL Draft by stunningly refusing to draft a single receiver. Now comes a stunning stat that highlights this to a T. Rodgers has thrown just one career touchdown pass to a first-round pick — a wild stat that is even more incredible when you realize what kind of support other top quarterbacks have gotten over the years.

As each individual state charts its own course out of the coronavirus pandemic, Americans all over the country are growing more and more impatient. When will we all be able to patronize a restaurant again? Enjoy a night out at the movies? It’s impossible to say exactly when these restrictions will be lifted, but according to a new survey, one thing is definitely clear: Americans aren’t going to be able to bear this lockdown much longer. In all, 1,895 U.S. citizens over the age of 18 were surveyed earlier this month, and 72% said they expect to reach a “breaking...

The Kaiser Family Foundation, one of the leading health nonprofits in America, reported late last week that 27 percent of the COVID-19 deaths in the 23 states that report fatalities publicly by location have occurred in nursing homes and long-term facilities. In six of those states — Delaware, Massachusetts, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Colorado and Utah — the percentage of coronavirus deaths in nursing homes was over 50 percent of total deaths, the foundation reported. “The individuals that reside in long-term care facilities are among the most vulnerable in the US to this virus, given occupation density of these facilities and residents’...

A man in California had three unregistered shotguns taken away last week after "bizarre and threatening" posts on social media about a coronavirus government conspiracy, according to officials. A 52-year-old man from the Rancho Peñasquitos neighborhood of San Diego told police he believed COVID-19 was an "elaborate hoax" to allow the tracking of Americans through 5G cell towers, the San Diego City's Attorney's Office said in a news release on Saturday. “Stress from the COVID-19 public health crisis is exacerbating anxiety and mental health struggles for many,” city attorney Mara Elliott said in a statement. “Thanks to public vigilance, police...

President Trump’s bold and unifying leadership during the coronavirus pandemic offers a template that all Republicans should follow as we approach one of the most important elections of our lifetimes. By limiting travel from China and other coronavirus hot spots early on and securing our borders, plus temporarily suspending immigration and providing vital economic relief to struggling workers and businesses, our president has consistently looked after the well-being of all Americans at every stage of this crisis. While the Democrats struggle to line up their various bickering factions in support of presumptive presidential nominee Joe Biden, Republicans remain extraordinarily united...

Supply Chain Shenanigans So last week I come across this story explaining that a lack of demand for liquid eggs led to Cargill coming in and killing healthy, egg producing chickens. As with many happenings blamed on this virus, it made me go.... Then yesterday, I see this story about Tyson, the country's largest meat producer, placing ads in mainstream newspapers, warning of a food supply breakdown...after assuring us there was no need to panic. So I wake this morning, grab my coffee and phone, and begin my usual Facebook scroll and happen upon this jewel: "Tyson Joins Bill Gates,...

Italy’s bishops rebuke government for extending Mass ban as other restrictions loosen 'The Italian Bishops cannot accept seeing the exercise of the freedom of religion compromised,' they wrote. ROME, Italy, April 27, 2020 (LifeSiteNews) ― Italy’s Catholic bishops have rebuked the Italian government after it announced new lockdown guidelines that permit various social and commercial activities but not public worship. The Italian bishops tabled their protest shortly after Italy’s Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte broadcast the “Phase 2” announcement yesterday evening.  Their statement, published on the website of the Episcopal Conference of Italy (CEI), said that despite their own weeks of...

Prayers up for all the families suffering from the impact of this virus. And we're still praying that the spread starts fading with the warmer Spring weather and that an effective treatment and vaccine are developed before the next flu season starts. And we pray that our people are allowed to go back to work very soon and that our economy comes roaring back. Meanwhile, we may be hurt and slowed down somewhat, but we have faith in the long-run that "what doesn't kill us only makes us stronger." God willing, America will survive and we will survive and we...

When Common Core first crept upon us from the Gates Foundation and other coevals, and then came into being in most states for real in 2010, it was hailed as just the thing to turn the tide on America's falling educational standards. President Obama's longtime education secretary, Arne Duncan hailed it as this: "the Common Core State Standards may prove to be the single greatest thing to happen to public education in America since Brown v. Board of Education." ... Obama himself claimed it made everything so much better:  So bottom line is: higher graduation rates, higher college attendance rates, more money for...

The math was never on the GOP’s side. Republicans enjoy a 53-47 majority in the U.S. Senate, but the party’s defending 23 of the 35 seats up for grabs in the chamber this November. And while at least a half-dozen GOP seats are considered battlegrounds, Democrats are defending just a handful of vulnerable incumbents. Two developments this month appear to be giving the Democrats a further boost. “I do think it’s 50/50 right now. I think that Democrats' odds have improved over the past month,” predicted Jessica Taylor, who closely tracks the Senate races for the Cook Report, a leading...

For the past month, Nicolás Maduro’s regime has placed Venezuela under a fierce quarantine that – alongside the ongoing humanitarian crisis and an already destroyed economy – has severely exacerbated every woe and tribulation that we had been facing as a consequence of the utter collapse that Socialism has unleashed upon this country. Blackouts, barely functional public utilities, food shortages, and now even gasoline — the only thing we produce in this country is pretty much an odyssey to obtain. Strangely, after almost an entire decade of socialist collapse, we’re kinda used to this rodeo of long lines, dwindling supplies,...

On Monday, an Illinois county judge granted a temporary restraining order against Democratic Governor J.B. Pritzker's 30-day extension of his statewide stay-at-home order. The judge's decision said that Pritzker's extension effectively "shredded the Constitution," overstepping his power as governor. Darren Bailey, the plaintiff who had requested the court to issue the restraining order... argued that while state law allows the governor to declare a disaster for 30 days, the law doesn't explicitly say whether a governor can extend such a declaration or issue a concurrent one when the original is set to expire. While Pritzker asserts that precedent allows for...

Some Connecticut businesses could begin reopening in as few as 7-10 days if the decline in Covid-19 hospitalizations continued, Gov. Ned Lamont said Monday. Lamont said the state is about halfway to a 14-day benchmark on hospitalization declines established by the White House’s coronavirus task force. Still, with 88 new deaths, the pandemic’s fatality total reached 2,012 on Monday. The net decrease of eight COVID-19 patients brought the hospitalized total to 1,758, down from 1,947 on April 23.

People longing for the outdoors are outraged at an Illinois boating rule. “My family, who I live with every day, can’t be on my boat with me in Illinois,” said Mike Scaturro. As an example, he gathered his family together on the boat as it was parked in their Granite City garage. He said, “I can’t sit outside in it, so I’ve got to sit inside in it.” “So if you take it outside your garage you’d be breaking the rule.” Scaturro said, “Right I mean you can see social distancing is possible in the boat, not that I need...

OHIOPYLE, Pennsylvania -- Like most places in the United States, this tiny patch of a town is struggling to stay afloat. Like most places, people here are trying to help others out. And like most places, those who live and work here wonder whether their community will ever be the same. Vicki Marietta's family has been in this place forever. Decades ago, her grandparents ran the Ohiopyle House Hotel. Marietta sat on a picnic bench with her mother outside of Backyard Gardens, her charming, uncluttered store that specializes in baskets of local produce: eggs, bacon, cheeses, jars of honey, apple...

YouTube has censored a viral video in which two doctors criticized the logic of whether California’s stay-at-home coronavirus order is necessary. The video, which had racked up over 5 million views, featured Dr. Dan Erickson and Dr. Artin Massihi, co-owners of Accelerated Urgent Care in Bakersfield, Calif. In the clip, Erickson asserts that there is only a “0.03 chance of dying from COVID in the state of California,†prompting him to ask, “Does that necessitate sheltering in place? Does that necessitate shutting down medical systems? Does that necessitate people being out of work?â€Erickson also asked why fatalities were being counted as COVID-19...

There are now over 850,000 coronavirus cases and counting in the United States. Experts estimate that over a million Americans could soon carry it—but working together we can prevent that projection from becoming a reality. The spread can be curbed, and the curve flattened, with sound policies that prevent exposure to coronavirus while also ensuring that Americans have access to the supplies they need. Most states have ordered their residents to stay home and only travel when necessary. This prevents millions of Americans from encountering the virus. But as more Americans shelter in place hoping to flatten the curve, consumption...
