I see a red door and I want it painted black No colors anymore, I want them to turn black I see the girls walk by, dressed in their summer clothes I have to turn my head until my darkness goes I see a line of cars and they're all painted black With flowers and my love both never to come back I see people turn their heads and quickly look away Like a newborn baby, it just happens everyday I look inside myself and see my heart is black I see my red door and must have it painted...

A large number of export-oriented Chinese factories were shuttered recently after they didn’t have enough orders to fill. Some home appliance manufacturers also announced that they laid off employees because of a lack of export and domestic demand due to the pandemic. As the outbreak of the CCP (Chinese Communist Party) virus, commonly known as novel coronavirus, became severe in January, much of China was placed under lockdown and factories halted production for more than a month. In February, Beijing encouraged companies to resume operations as it grew concerned about an economic slowdown. But Chinese companies were worried that the...

"“It won’t be where you’re doing large public gatherings or even filling up a restaurant,” says Gates." "Will people want to go and travel?" Gates questioned. "Will they want to go to restaurants? Will they even think, you know, buying a new home is an appropriate thing? So, even once the government is saying these activities are OK, we can't expect the demand side to re-emerge overnight."

The Thin Façade of Authority As we continue to debate about numerators and denominators in determining the real impact of this virus, one common denominator remains certain about the elites advising, crafting, and developing our response: they aren’t touched by the impact of their decisions. The virus will teach us many things, but one lesson has already been relearned by the American people: there are two, quite different, types of wisdom. One, and the most renowned, is a specialization in education that results in titled degrees and presumed authority. That ensuing prestige, in turn, dictates the decisions of most politicians,...

A surprise company outing to an air base caused a 64-year-old French man so much stress that he flung himself from a fighter jet in midair, grabbing the ejector button in a panic and tumbling through the skies above France before landing in a field. The man had been surprised by employees at his firm, who had organized a joyride in a Dassault Rafale B jet for him as a treat. But they apparently didn’t know their colleague as well as they thought. Once the man arrived at the Saint-Dizier air base in northeastern France and realized what his co-workers...

MANY, La. – There’s some good news ahead for the owners of rental facilities in Sabine Parish. Sabine Parish Police Jury President Mike McCormick has said he intends to end the ban on short-term rentals on April 30, District Attorney Don Burkett announced Monday on Facebook. “I concur with this decision,” Burkett said. That means those business owners can begin taking reservations for the month of May and beyond. McCormick issued a parishwide order on March 30 ending all vacation rentals and telling those who were staying in the parish temporarily to leave by April 2. The order does not...

Wisconsin is releasing results from its presidential primary and state Supreme Court election after the deadline to send in absentee ballots passes at 4 p.m. Central Time and 5 p.m. Eastern Time on April 13. What's at stake? Bernie Sanders officially dropped out of the presidential primary on April 8, making former VP Joe Biden the presumptive Democratic nominee. In the Democratic presidential primary, Wisconsin allocates 84 pledged delegates to the Democracy convention, with 55...

Apple and Google are planning on installing new technology to alert users when they have come in contact with someone who has COVID-19, according to WIVB. The technology is known as "contract-tracing" and would be installed into the iOS and Android operating systems by mid-May. It would send anonymous data to public health authorities, however, users must opt-in to the program. Basically, if a user tests positive for coronavirus, it will add the data to the public health app and alert other users when they come in close proximity of that person. If you're concerned about privacy, Apple and Google...

Pope Promotes Guaranteed Income Scheme a failure in Finland VATICAN CITY (ChurchMilitant.com) - The Latin America-based group, World Meeting of Popular Movements [El Encuentro Mundial de Movimientos Populares (EMMP)], released a letter from Pope Francis to its member organizations in which he says circumstances created by the global pandemic "may be the time to consider a universal basic wage." The Pope's Audience Released on Easter Sunday, the letter...

It seemed clear several weeks ago this was going to happen. East coast blue state governors and West coast blue state governors are uniting to begin the economic civil war planning to block any White House effort to re-open the U.S. economy. The three step plan seems predictable: (1) Get out ahead of President Trump. (2) Defy the ‘all clear’ and shape economic benefit to their political allies. (3) Then use Fauci’s upcoming dossier to hit the administration for heartlessly opening the economy too early. ♦ On the East Coast the governors of New York (Cuomo), New Jersey (Murphy), Connecticut...

They are culturally meaningful—and not at all worth the health risks they pose.A few weeks ago, before the coronavirus pandemic upended our daily lives, my Facebook feed surfaced a photo from 2018, in which I was cooking a chicken that had been slaughtered in front of me at a wet market in Essaouira, Morocco. Anthony Fauci may call wet markets an “unusual human-animal interaction,” but it wasn’t that long ago in America that chilled, mass-produced, and nationally distributed meats were regarded as unusual and inferior to backyard chickens. Wherever I am in the world, I make it a point to...

The former press secretary for Sen. Bernie Sanders's (I-Vt.) presidential campaign said Monday that she would not endorse former Vice President Joe Biden, shortly after Sanders appeared in an online video to announce support for his former rival in the general election against President Trump. Briahna Joy Gray, who was Sanders's national spokeswoman until the campaign was suspended last week, has become a Twitter sensation in recent days for her searing attacks against Biden. On Monday, just minutes after Sanders and Biden held a joint press conference to talk about how they would work together to defeat Trump, Gray responded...

A quick 5-minute coronavirus test made by Abbott Laboratories and introduced with considerable fanfare by President Donald Trump in a Rose Garden news conference this week is giving state and local health officials very little added capacity to perform speedy tests needed to control the COVID-19 pandemic. “That’s a whole new ballgame,” Trump said. “I want to thank Abbott Labs for the incredible work they’ve done. They’ve been working around-the-clock.” Yet a document circulated among officials at the Department of Health and Human Services and the Federal Emergency Management Agency this week shows that state and local public health labs...

Does a pandemic that has killed thousands of people around the globe, shuttered the American economy and resulted in a nearly 20 percent unemployment rate qualify as an "emergency?" Not in the mind of Democratic Majority Leader Steny Hoyer. As he explained to the press on Monday, the House of Representatives would not be meeting again before May 4, "absent an emergency." They had initially planned to reconvene on April 20. Jennifer Bendery ✔@jbendery "Absent an emergency, the House is not expected to meet prior to Monday, May 4, 2020." -- Steny Hoyer email 195 1:06 PM - Apr 13,...
