Tiffany Pinckney remembers the fear when COVID-19 stole her breath. So when she recovered, the New York City mother became one of the country’s first survivors to donate her blood to help treat other seriously ill patients. “It is definitely overwhelming to know that in my blood, there may be answers,” Pinckney told The Associated Press. Doctors around the world are dusting off a century-old treatmentfor infections: Infusions of blood plasma teeming with immune molecules that helped survivors beat the new coronavirus. There’s no proof it will work. But former patients in Houston and New York were early donors, and...

James S. Brady Press Briefing RoomApril 2, 2020 5:22 P.M. EDTTHE PRESIDENT:  Okay.  Thank you very much.  Good to be with you all.  We’re in a very critical phase of our war against the coronavirus.  It’s vital that every American follows our guidelines on the “30 Days to Slow the Spread.”  The sacrifices we make over the next four weeks will have countless American lives saved.  We’re going to save a lot of American lives.  And we’re in control of our own fate very much so.  Maintaining social distance, practicing vigorous hygiene, and staying at home are your most...
  • Planned Parenthood Stops Dispensing Birth Control, Now Only Open to Kill Babies in Abortions

Some Planned Parenthood supporters like to claim the abortion chain does more to prevent abortions than any other entity because it provides birth control to a large number of its patients. It is not true, and now there is even more evidence that its real priority is the killing of unborn babies. During the coronavirus pandemic, some Planned Parenthood facilities are no longer open for birth control appointments, urinary tract infection treatments, STI treatment/testing and other health services. According to Breitbart, most of the abortion chain’s Pennsylvania facilities are open “for abortion services only” right now. “At this time, Planned...

Editor's Note: This piece was coauthored by Dan Lips.Coming soon to a parking lot near you: a hospital. Federal and state officials are rushing to create temporary medical centers to help patients during the pandemic. The White House recently announced that the federal government will partner with state and local governments to increase hospital capacity. One method is by directing the Army Corps of Engineers to construct temporary field hospitals. The goal is to help hospitals in virus hot spots such as New York City and Seattle that are reportedly overflowing. Hospital staff in Florida are preparing for a surge...
  • ABC’s Pitts to Pence: Do You ‘Talk to God’ About Those Who Died Because You Acted Late?

ABC’s Nightline has returned to its old timeslot with a larger audience after late local news (instead of after Jimmy Kimmel Live). On Wednesday’s show, co-host Byron Pitts ended an interview with Vice President Mike Pence by asking him “not in a political way,” but whether he “talk[s] to God” about feeling remorse for Americans who have died “because of steps the federal government did not take soon enough.” So here we had a journalist ask the Vice President if he prays to the Lord with a heart of repentance for having been responsible for dead Americans. Surely, Chuck Todd...

Meghan Markle plans to return to acting but is only interested in working with A-list directors in the hopes she'll secure a breakout role so she'll be taken seriously as an actress, an industry source exclusively told DailyMail.com. The former Suits actress is worried critics are going to be especially hard on her, so she wants to make sure a director of the right caliber is attached to the project. The Duchess of Sussex has 'been telling her agents that she wants Ava DuVernay involved, and that they need to find the right script,' the insider added. Although Meghan has...

A Connecticut dad said the malaria drug chloroquine helped him recover from a severe coronavirus infection, according to a new report. Chris Tillett, 45, the first confirmed COVID-19 patient in the state, was in a medically induced coma for 10 days at Danbury Hospital after the illness ravaged his body, leaving him with bilateral pneumonia, the Connecticut Post reported. Doctors used several different drug protocols to treat Tillett — who has twin infant sons — but he said a combination of chloroquine with the HIV anti-viral drug Kaletra worked best. Tillett’s wife, Elizabeth, told the paper her husband was on...

Former Maryland Lt. Gov. Kathleen Kennedy Townsend’s daughter and grandson are missing after authorities say they were seen struggling to return to shore in a canoe near Herring Bay, a family member confirmed Friday. David McKean says his wife, Maeve Fahey Kennedy Townsend, 41, and son, Gideon Joseph Kennedy McKean, 8, are the people last sighted 10 miles south of Annapolis near Herring Bay. McKean declined to comment further. Anne Arundel County fire officials say a concerned citizen called 911 around 4:30 p.m. Thursday to report that he saw the woman and her son in a small canoe or kayak...

The University of Pennsylvania’s medical school is set to perform clinical trials to see if a drug used to treat arthritis and malaria can also treat COVID-19. The Perelman School of Medicine is enrolling patients to study if hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) can treat already infected people or help prevent infection altogether. Dr. Ravi Amaravadi, an oncologist and the study’s principal investigator, has been studying the drug as a treatment for cancer for more than a decade. He said side effects on cancer patients have not been severe, which could indicate HCQ might be safe for coronavirus treatment. “We think this is...

It's actually pretty simple. It begins with China. China has concealed the extent of the coronavirus outbreak in its country, under-reporting both total cases and deaths it’s suffered from the disease, the U.S. intelligence community concluded in a classified report to the White House, according to three U.S. officials. The officials asked not to be identified because the report is secret, and they declined to detail its contents. But the thrust, they said, is that China’s public reporting on cases and deaths is intentionally incomplete. Two of the officials said the report concludes that China’s numbers are fake. The report...

As the Chief Executive Officer of a group with 200 employees, as well as a suburban mother and American, my views may be outside the mainstream – or central to what most Americans think. At heart, seven principles guide me now. I share them here. Gratitude. First, as an American, I am grateful for President Trump’s hands-on, all-in, make-it-happen leadership. I am comfortable with his seasoned team of doctors, policy experts, economic minds and industry leaders, especially Dr. Deborah Birx and Dr. Anthony Fauci. I am pleased an able vice president – and former governor – is at the apex....

On Saturday the Food and Drug Administration approved the use of two antimalarial drugs, hydroxychloroquine and a related medication, chloroquine, for emergency use to treat COVID-19. The drugs were touted by President Trump as a “game changer” for COVID-19. However, a study just published in a French medical journal provides new evidence that hydroxychloroquine does not appear to help the immune system clear the coronavirus from the body. The study comes on the heels of two others - one in France and one in China - that reported some benefits in the combination of hydroxychloroquine and azithromycin for COVID-19 patients...

Facts are irrelevant to Dems. Ocasio-Cortez today claimed that COVID-19 discriminates against minorities She tweeted: “COVID deaths are disproportionately spiking in Black + Brown communities,” tweeted the Democrat lawmaker. “Why? Take this with a small grain of salt at least for the moment, or perhaps a grain of sugar in this case. Researchers at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine believe that they have found an effective vaccine against COVID-19 and want expedited FDA approval for Phase 1 testing. The school’s extensive work on the previous SARS and MERS outbreaks left a roadmap for defeating this coronavirus, they claim in a new peer-reviewed paper — and they have also developed a safer method for delivering it: Scientists at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine believe that they’ve...

DIY Mass Is ‘Catalyst for Reform’ Theologian: public liturgy ban will spark Catholic sectarianism BONN, Germany (ChurchMilitant.com) - A leading Viennese dogmatist is sounding the alarm on "do-it-yourself" Masses leading to "free-floating, if not sectarian forms of Christianity," after progressive theologians claimed lay Catholics could consecrate Communion elements by placing bread and wine in front of the screen during a televised Mass.      Professor Jan-Heiner Tück is warning that the "temporary ban on assembly in the corona-crisis is being used as a catalyst for reform," to combat perceived clericalism so that the "sacramental principle of ordination will be eroded."   Theologians are proposing...

The clip features an African-American male carrying out the disgusting act while his friend who is filming him states, “We spraying that S#!t with coronavirus.” The man drinks from three different bottles during the 18 second video. Santiago (AFP) - Latin America is heading into "a deep recession" in 2020, with an expected drop in the region's GDP of 1.8 to 4.0 percent due to the coronavirus pandemic, the UN economic commission for the region said Friday. "We are at the beginning of a profound recession. We're faced with the largest fall in growth that the region has had," said Alicia Barcena, executive secretary of the UN Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (CEPAL). Latin America was already struggling economically, with feeble growth of just 0.1 percent in 2019. As with other parts of the...

Since millions of us have been directed to stay home and shelter in place and avoid all needless, unnecessary travel, will our insurance payments and or premiums be adjusted down or waived during this crisis? My driving has been reduced about 95 percent, not to mention not using/riding my motorcycle at all. I suggest everyone call their insurance carriers and inquire about this. Maybe save some big money.
