It's actually pretty simple.
It begins with China.
China has concealed the extent of the coronavirus outbreak in its country, under-reporting both total cases and deaths its suffered from the disease, the U.S. intelligence community concluded in a classified report to the White House, according to three U.S. officials.China destroyed evidence. The officials asked not to be identified because the report is secret, and they declined to detail its contents. But the thrust, they said, is that Chinas public reporting on cases and deaths is intentionally incomplete. Two of the officials said the report concludes that Chinas numbers are fake.
The report was received by the White House last week, one of the officials said.
The outbreak began in Chinas Hubei province in late 2019, but the country has publicly reported only about 82,000 cases and 3,300 deaths, according to data compiled by Johns Hopkins University. That compares to more than 189,000 cases and more than 4,000 deaths in the U.S., which has the largest publicly reported outbreak in the world.
China refused to allow US authorities in to help fight the virusChinese laboratories identified a mystery virus as a highly infectious new pathogen by late December last year, but they were ordered to stop tests, destroy samples and suppress the news, a Chinese media outlet has revealed.
A regional health official in Wuhan, centre of the outbreak, demanded the destruction of the lab samples that established the cause of unexplained viral pneumonia on January 1. China did not acknowledge there was human-to-human transmission until more than three weeks later.
The detailed revelations by Caixin Global, a respected independent publication, provide the clearest evidence yet of the scale of the cover-up in the crucial early weeks when the opportunity was lost to control the outbreak.
Censors have been rapidly deleting the report from the Chinese internet.
China has "disappeared" another whistleblower:Amid its outbreak of coronavirus that has killed over 100 people and sickened more than 4,500, China refused two direct offers from the US to send infectious disease experts to help fight the virus's spread, and a third made via the World Health Organization.
It was only as US Health and Human Services Secretary (HHS) Alex Azar was disclosing this information to reporters in a Tuesday press conference the China at last acquiesced, telling the WHO it would welcome foreign assistance.
Although the global public health community has widely praised China's quick - if 'Draconian' - work to address the ongoing coronavirus epidemic, the Communist Party run nation is haunted by its secretive handling of past outbreaks.
A Chinese doctor who claimed her bosses tried to silence her early warnings about coronavirus appears to have disappeared stirring fears that she was detained, according to new reports. And then this was prolonged by the World Health Organization (who some call the Chinese Health Organization) who claimed COVID 19 is not contagiousAi Fen had pointed out cases of the illness to colleagues at Wuhan Central Hospital, eight of whom were reprimanded themselves, Radio Free Asia (RFA) reported.
The whereabouts of Ai, who is head of the emergency department, are now unknown, 60 Minutes Australia reported Monday.
Just two weeks ago the head of Emergency at Wuhan Central hospital went public, saying authorities had stopped her and her colleagues from warning the world, the outlet tweeted. She has now disappeared, her whereabouts unknown.

The head of the World Health Organization is Xi's stooge and he should be in prison.
Now China is desperately trying to rewrite history and the left media has become China's echo chamber

Nope.
What stopped you from posting it?
Next time make sure you go out and get a virus as soon as possible so you can get full treatment at a hospital before they are filled up.
Meanwhile, Taiwan, Singapore ^ South Korea ignored the WHO, did not believe the WHO and China, got samples of the virus from China and went ahead to institute their own Covid-19 test kits A.S.A.P, and began testing right afterward, as soon as arrivals from China were coming in.
That leaves our NIH/CDC/FDA as the other half of why the U.S. response lagged.
No. Plenty of individual Chinese people were able to get warnings to us. Managers and investors here were warned by many of us. They threw tantrums and pushed the politicians to keep everyone out in crowds anyway, and didn’t allow their employees to wear masks.
Globalism and anti-American trade deals of the past forty years caused it.
On this topic, take politics, both sides, and stuff it.
I was going to post the same thing. South Korea and US had their first case on the same day. South Korea had a much more robust early response. Bizarrely, the US seemed to trust the WHO and China, and fell way behind.
Something is really not adding up.
6,766 Deaths from COVID-19 in US.
2,935 Deaths from COVID-19 in NY.
43% DEATHS in US from NY.
265,001 Tested for COVID-19 in US.
102,863 Tested for COVID-19 in NY.
38% Of all cases in NY.
Take the Cuomo/Wilhelm DISASTER in NY(Add bordering New Jersey) and how bad are things in the other 48 States?
80 deaths per state over the other 48 States.
We have CRUSHED our economy for a COVID-19 mortality rate of .000020503 across our total population.
If the failure of NY to plan/spend for a Pandemic were not so profound what would we be talking about here!?
H1N1 2009-2010:
From the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Emerging Infections Program laboratory-confirmed hospitalizations across the entire United States, and then corrected for underreporting. From 12 April 2009 to 10 April 2010, we estimate that approximately 60.8 million cases (range: 43.3-89.3 million), 274,304 hospitalizations (195,086-402,719), and 12,469 deaths (8868-18,306) occurred in the United States due to pH1N1. Eighty-seven percent of deaths occurred in those under 65 years of age with children and working adults having risks of hospitalization and death 4 to 7 times and 8 to 12 times greater, respectively, than estimates of impact due to seasonal influenza covering the years 1976-2001. In our study, adults 65 years of age or older were found to have rates of hospitalization and death that were up to 75% and 81%, respectively, lower than seasonal influenza. These results confirm the necessity of a concerted public health response to pH1N1.
Identity Politics Lied. New Yorkers Died
“That leaves our NIH/CDC/FDA as the other half of why the U.S. response lagged.”
and don’t forget about the democrat obsession with impeaching Trump in spite of everything else that’s going around.
Hey, I got a crazy idea. Howzabout we proceed with policies BASED on the assumption that Red China is not honest? Anyone else tired of US Government making excuses by whining that the biggest communist nation on earth who’s government killed somewhere around 50 million people deceived them? (give or take 10 million)
Awwwww how cool, that guy got to meet Winnie the Poo.
Clearly, the FDA’s early response was a mess. It took a barroom brawler like Trump to get them unstuck, and they resisted kicking and screaming the whole way.
One thing we’ve learned from all of this is that the swamp is even swampier than we could have imagined, and that there was tremendous institutional inertia tied up in “partnerships with China” and defending their own turf rather than protecting the American people.
The system is fundamentally broken, but our “solution” seems to be to double-down on the very system that simply didn’t work. Of course, that has revealed, for anyone not willfully blind, that the “system” isn’t set up for the American people, but for the benefit of the deep-state elites.
Tar and feathers anyone?
It is time to release the lawyers on all of the Chinese assets in the U.S.
Sorry, but this statement is meaningless. You have to determine what the estimated total deaths would have been with no intervention, and then subtract deaths with intervention. You also need to include secondary deaths from an over-stressed health system.
With nonintervention, some say deaths could have been 3 million and compared to that, intervention deaths will be less than 100,000 (hopefully). So you could say we CRUSHED the economy for 1% of our population.
The problem, as I see it, is that people listened to what China was telling them, not what they were doing.
I know I, and others here on this board, saw that and started prepping. So if someone was paying attention, they would have seen trouble coming, although I dont think anyone had any idea it would have gotten so bad and so out of control.
Is the statement false? Is it true?
Are you saying we either shut it all down, crushing the economy, OR we do nothing in the way of mitigation? There were the only those 2 options?
I dont accept there wasnt some middle ground that would have allowed the economy to operate while also working at mitigating the spread of the virus.
We Americans need to think of beating this thing as a war. Wars require sacrifice, unusual actions, unity against a foe, and severe punishment of traitors and those who expose the nation to danger. By this time we all recognize the possibility that this virus is in fact a deliberate act of war by China.
Identified it in December after it had been circulating for how many months before that?
I've been saying all along that people who thought they may have suffered various levels of a cold or even pneumonia as early as October quite likely had the Covid 19 virus....
