On March 13th Around 400 National Guard personnel have been activated across six states to support operations to stem the spread of novel coronavirus, the National Guard Bureau said in a press release. The governors of Florida, Iowa, Louisiana, New York, Rhode Island, and Washington have all activated components of their Army and Air National Guard. Guardsmen in California and Maryland are also expected to join their states’ efforts today. Things have become even more serious and some conspiracy theories suggested that we are on our way to martial law. Martial law is the imposition of direct military control of...

 Representative Devin Nunes (R-CA), the ranking Republican on the House Intelligence Committee, joined The Trevor Carey Show recently, where he discussed House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s (D-CA) efforts to include non-essential measures into a bill to assist Americans during the deadly coronavirus pandemic. One of the measures Pelosi and her party attempted to include in the bill was retirement plans for community newspaper employees. Nunes said: If you don’t think that 90 percent of the media, including many of the local media, if you don’t think they’re working for the Democrats, you are fooling yourself. Why would they put that...

The COVID-19 death toll in the city was 450 as of Friday evening, up from 366 reported fatalities in the morning. Total citywide coronavirus cases rose to 26,697, up 4.4 percent from the 25,573 reported in the morning. Mayor de Blasio warned Friday that critical...

I publish a health, fitness, and culture blog. These are lifetime passions of mine. Like most people, I have my political opinions, but I try to keep them away from the blog. I want to help everybody who seeks it; and don’t want to alienate people who may not agree with some of my non-related views. But the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic has changed all that. Like it or not, the Coronavirus situation has fused health and politics, due to the massive governmental response necessary to contain the virus. As a natural health and fitness proponent, I feel a need to...

Rhode Island police began stopping cars with New York plates Friday. On Saturday, the National Guard will help them conduct house-to-house searches to find people who traveled from New York and demand 14 days of self-quarantine. “Right now we have a pinpointed risk,” Governor Gina Raimondo said. “That risk is called New York City.”

Abstract We need an effective treatment to cure COVID-19 patients and to decrease the virus carriage duration. In 80 in-patients receiving a combination of hydroxychloroquine and azithromycin we noted a clinical improvement in all but one 86 year-old patient who died, and one 74 year old patient still in intensive care unit. A rapid fall of nasopharyngeal viral load tested by qPCR was noted, with 83% negative at Day7, and 93% at Day8. Virus cultures from patient respiratory samples were negative in 97.5% patients at Day5. This allowed patients to rapidly de discharge from highly contagious wards with a mean...

The Rev. Joseph Lowery, a leader in America's civil rights movement, died Friday. He was 98. Lowery's death was confirmed by family representative Imara Canady, who said he died of natural causes. Often called the "dean" of the civil rights movement, he worked hand in hand in the movement's formative years with the Revs. Martin Luther King Jr. and Jesse Jackson.

Well, Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) is probably the most hated man in Washington D.C. right now. He threatened to derail passage of the Wuhan coronavirus relief bill that sailed through the Senate on a 96-0 vote. It’s a $2 trillion package that admittedly has some bad stuff in it, but American businesses and workers need relief as the nation fights this Wuhan coronavirus outbreak that’s infected over 85,000 people and killed at least 1,200. States have adopted severe measures to stop the spread, instituting bans of mass gatherings of more than 10 people, closing non-essential businesses for a least a...

Former UK Prime Minister Gordon Brown has called on world leaders to form a "temporary" global government in response to the coronavirus pandemic. The ex Labour prime minister, stressed the need for a task force comprised of world leaders, health experts as well as leaders of the international organisations that could have executive powers to execute the response. Brown would like to see the G20 lead this charge in co-operation with the UN Security Council while giving more resources and power to the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank.

There is room for different interpretations of the dataIn announcing the most far-reaching restrictions on personal freedom in the history of Britain nation, Prime Minister Boris Johnson resolutely followed the scientific advice that he had been given. The advisers to the UK government seem calm and collected, with a solid consensus among them. In the face of a new viral threat, with numbers of cases surging daily, I’m not sure that any prime minister would have acted very differently. But I’d like to raise some perspectives that have hardly been aired in the past weeks, and which point to an interpretation...

That the Bible refers to these structures as "cities" instead of merely "buildings" is likely a consequence of the magnitude of these projects. The area that these depots covered sometimes exceeded the area taken up by the temple itself. Examples of storage depots can be found surrounding several mortuary temples, for example, the Ramesseum. The reason why the temples needed such storage depots was because Egypt had a barter economy that did not use money. Any temple cult only lasted as long as there was food to make offerings and feed priests. Storing food for offerings was essential for a...
