Television host Andy Cohen announced in an Instagram post on Friday that he’s tested positive for coronavirus. “After a few days of self-quarantine, and not feeling great, I have tested positive for Coronavirus,” Cohen wrote. “As much as I felt like I could push through whatever I was feeling to do #WWHL from home, we’re putting a pin in that for now so I can focus on getting better.” Like more than 70 other television shows, WWHL shut down production, with its last show airing out of the New York City studio March 12. Earlier today, Cohen told Variety he...

Vice President Mike Pence said Thursday that new legislation will allow tens of millions more protective masks to reach U.S. healthcare workers each month, beginning immediately, but it was still unclear whether total production will be enough to meet demand. New legislation signed Wednesday provides manufacturers of N95 face masks protection against lawsuits when selling certain masks to healthcare workers, Pence said. That will free producers including 3M and Honeywell to sell tens of millions more masks per month to hospitals, Pence said, helping alleviate alarming shortages that have surfaced in recent weeks amid the coronavirus crisis. “They are available...

As the COVID-19 virus sweeps the world, it is easy to become anxious and fearful. I recently learned of a close friend who nearly succumbed to the COVID-19 virus. While my friend was immunocompromised, his illness was a reminder as to how this contagion can affect our loved ones. In addition, my institution, like many others, has appropriately canceled elective surgeries for at least 2 weeks. The loss of income, coupled with the market decline, can easily fuel a quick descent into despair. I have found the following tips useful in maintaining calm during the storm: -Stay informed, but not...

The Communist Party of China triumphantly proclaimed on Thursday that it had logged its first day without a single domestic Wuhan coronavirus infection, earning the applause of gullible mainstream media outlets and its puppets at the World Health Organization (WHO). Those celebrating, in addition to disregarding the clear signs that the claim may not be true – like reports of Wuhan hospitals turning away residents with coronavirus symptoms, or a suspicious increase in “pneumonia” death certificates at funeral homes not counted as coronavirus – have failed to note that China made a significant change in how it counted coronavirus cases...

Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem (Music in The Bible) Psalms Psalm 131 A song of ascents. Of David. 1 My heart is not proud, Lord, my eyes are not haughty; I do not concern myself with great matters or things too wonderful for me. 2 But I have calmed and quieted myself, I am like a weaned child with its mother; like a weaned child I am content. 3 Israel, put your hope in the Lord both now and forevermore. New International Version (NIV)(End of Scripture Passage) . A very short, but humble and sweet Psalm. New International Version (NIV) Holy...

An Oregon woman who rescued a toddler from being struck by an oncoming car said the "karma" from the incident helped her win a $1 million lottery jackpot. Ann Charkowicz of Coos Bay told Oregon Lottery officials she and her husband of 36 years, Brian, spotted a toddler wandering into a busy street recently and grabbed the child out of traffic and escorted them home. Charkowicz said she was left with a "good feeling" after the rescue that led her to buy an Oregon Lottery Raffle ticket from the Safeway store where she works in Coos Bay. "I figured I...

Iran’s regime has launched a massive new campaign claiming its failure to handle the coronavirus crisis is due to sanctions imposed by the United States. There’s not an iota of truth to this claim, and it’s by no means a widely held view. Still, several U.S. lawmakers are backing up similar talking points by the regime’s Foreign Minister Javad Zarif. Zarif on Tuesday claimed “unlawful US sanctions” are draining Iran's economic resources, impairing his regime’s ability to fight COVID-19.The next day Sen. Bernie Sanders tweeted: “As a caring nation, we must lift any sanctions hurting Iran’s ability to address this crisis,...

These are not the polls the corrupt news media was hoping to see. Not at all. – After two solid weeks of the corrupt news media and prominent Democrats parroting the talking points of the communist Chinese government, the public is obviously grown weary of the nonsense. No one with a normal, functioning brain believes that the terms “Chinese flu” or “China virus” that President Donald Trump likes to use are in any real way “racist.” They simply – and accurately – identify the source of the virus that is killing thousands of people all over the world. I woke up this morning to the news that country and pop music legend Kenny Rogers has passed. Living amongst the Coronavirus outbreak and its attending social chaos, you might think this morning’s news is a minor blip on my attention. But you’d be wrong. The passing of Kenny Rogers has heavy significance for me. Just a couple of days ago, I remarked to my son how some people die and you forget about them almost instantly. They left no indelible imprint on you. Yet others go and you think about them on a regular basis. Susan An older lady...

As humans have spread across the world, so have infectious diseases. Even in this modern era, outbreaks are nearly constant, though not every outbreak reaches pandemic level as the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) has. Today’s visualization outlines some of history’s most deadly pandemics, from the Antonine Plague to the current COVID-19 event. -- A Timeline of Historical Pandemics -- Disease and illnesses have plagued humanity since the earliest days, our mortal flaw. However, it was not until the marked shift to agrarian communities that the scale and spread of these diseases increased dramatically. Widespread trade created new opportunities for human and...

Bernie Sanders may have missed his chance to finally head the Democratic ticket, but he still holds considerable clout. Which is why Joe Biden was busy wooing the Vermont socialist’s supporters this past week. “Senator Sanders and I may disagree on tactics,” he said. “But we share a common vision.” That’s good to keep in mind as the media try to cover up Mr. Biden’s recent leftward lurches and convert him into a “moderate” to seem less scary in November. However, they’re both heading toward the socialist cliff, just in different vehicles. Bernie’s is a red Ferrari, while Joe’s is...

With China covering up Covid-19 and not getting the word out to the world, they should pay a long-term price for destroying economies and lives. President Trump should get together with other nations hit hard by this virus (European countries, Japan etc) and have all agree to slap a 50% tax on everything exported from China. That tariff will pay for the bonds issued to jump start the economies. China needs to pay for what they have done this time and cannot be given a pass. This was 100% preventable but China CHOSE not to do so.

Thirty million dollars would make anyone sit up and pay attention, especially when the words following include “the government” and “taxpayers.” But is $30 million each year what it costs to maintain the protection of a federally designated national forest? Surprisingly, no. This average annual loss of $30 million stems not from protecting the forest, but logging the forest, Southeast Alaska’s Tongass National Forest in particular. That’s equivalent to over $100,000 per timber job in the area. When the current administration announced its intent to modify the protections of the “Roadless Rule” that restricts logging in over 9 million acres of...

New York Governor Andrew Cuomo on Friday announced an executive order that mandates 100% of the state's workforce "must stay home, excluding essential services," until further notice. That order does not apply to liquor stores, the New York State Liquor Store Association clarified later Friday. "Liquor stores have been deemed an essential business and may remain open," the association said in a press release. "You do not need to reduce your workforce. This applies to all SLA licensed entities as per the SLA." Beverage manufacturing, including alcoholic beverages, is also considered an essential operation, and is included under the state's...
