Roosevelt Room 1:05 P.M. EST THE VICE PRESIDENT: Well, thank you all for being here. At the President’s direction, we have initiated, since the advent of the coronavirus here in the United States, a whole-of-government approach. President Trump took unprecedented action when he suspended all travel from China, quarantined Americans that were returning. We’ve issued recent travel advisories for affected areas in Italy and South Korea, and initiated screening of all passengers from all airports at either one of those countries coming into the United States of America. We’re doing everything in our power to prevent the coronavirus from further...

Cibola County, New Mexico Sheriff Tony Mace says he and other sheriffs from around the state are meeting with attorneys this week as they get ready to file suit over the state’s new red flag law, signed last week by Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham. During the signing ceremony, Grisham said that sheriffs who weren’t prepared to enforce the new law should resign, but Sheriff Mace and other sheriffs are taking the matter to court instead. Mace tells me that the sheriffs will be holding meetings with several different attorneys over the next few weeks to discuss litigation strategies before filing...

In December 2019, the first cases of coronavirus, or SARS-CoV-2, were reported in the Wuhan province of mainland China. Despite the efforts of the Chinese government and other agencies, the disease spread around the world. Public health officials reported cases on every continent. Coronavirus has become a global pandemic, and it has already impacted on the global economy. This, in turn, can radically affect our lives here in the United States. Gun owners remember how guns and ammo were hard to find because of the political climate at the time. What will happen if it’s a pandemic that affects our...

Roosevelt Room 11:27 A.M. EST THE PRESIDENT: Well, thank you very much, everyone. We’re with the great airline executives of the world, really. These are the biggest and the best, and know the business better than anybody. They’ve been in it for a long time, and they’ve emerged — in all cases, head their companies. And we’re talking about the effects of the virus on air travel and what they see. In a certain way, you could say that the borders are automatically shut down, without having to say “shut down.” I mean, they’re, to a certain extent, automatically shut...

The Democrats running for president will meet for their 11th debate later this month, but a new promise of higher qualification requirements could exclude one candidate who would have made the cut under previous rules. Hawaii Rep. Tulsi Gabbard, who won one delegate in the American Samoa caucuses on Super Tuesday, met the mark set by the Democratic National Committee for the three previous debates, but DNC communications director Xochitl Hinojosa tweeted Tuesday night that they are upping the requirements going forward.

The federal government is seeking to tackle a new issue stemming from the deadly coronavirus outbreak; how to treat uninsured patients. On Tuesday, President Trump and top health officials discussed the possibility of funneling federal funds to health care providers..."The professionals are doing a great job, we're really happy with the job they're doing," he stated." "...we're ahead of it by stopping so much earlier...nobody wanted us to cut off access to our country and I did it early; by doing that, that was a big step."

Elizabeth and I are so grateful for all the hard work of everyone on this team — not only leading up to Super Tuesday, but in all the weeks and months before. To every volunteer, donor, and supporter: Thank you for everything you’ve done. Last night, we fell well short of our viability goals and projections, and we are disappointed in the results. We’re still waiting for more results to come in to get a better sense of the final delegate math. And we also all know the race has been extremely volatile in recent weeks and days with frontrunners...

Well, it happened once again. Sales of electricity in the US declined in 2019 by a significant 2.8%, despite solid domestic economic growth with real GDP increasing 2.3%. Sales across all categories of users—residential, commercial and industrial— all fell. To put this in context electricity sales have fallen in five of the past ten years. From 2010-2019 electricity sales actually declined by a slight 0.1% while real GDP rose 22%, the population increased 7% and industrial production rose 17%. Note especially the last number. It has been an easy (and we believe lazy) claim to attribute every slackening period of...

Congressional Democrats have been selling the exhaustively debunked theory about Donald Trump being a Russian secret agent and using Russian President Vladimir Putin's help to win office in 2016. Two investigations so far have shown that there was no Russian collusion with Trump. The Mueller investigation indictments showed that, to the extent there was interference in the 2016 election, it involved Russian troll farms buying about $100,000 in Facebook ads... ~snip~ Meadows wrote: "Michael Bloomberg could barely win a delegate in a primary with $500+ million—but if you ask Washington Democrats, a few Russian trolls spending 100K on Facebook ads...

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer attended a Planned Parenthood rally Wednesday and openly threatened Supreme Court Justice Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh, just as the Supreme Court is hearing arguments about a law in Louisiana requiring abortion doctors to have admitting privileges to the state’s local hospitals. “I want to tell you Gorsuch, I want to tell you Kavanaugh, you have unleashed a whirlwind, and you will pay the price,” said Schumer. “You don’t know what will hit you if you go forward with these awful decisions. Rep. Mark Meadows, R-NC, questioned his threat on Twitter saying “Did Senate Democrat...

The Bernie supporters are really upset about the results of the Super Tuesday elections. This is a meme that showed up on my Facebook page. It was posted by someone who made the comment: "This is why NEVER BIDEN." So I guess there are a lot of Never Bideners out there.

Many of the proposals of those who want a disarmed society are founded in wishful thinking. Hypothetical examples, based on false assumptions about the nature of reality, are put forward as if they are fact. One of the most blatant and one-sided examples of this was recently published in the Los Angeles Times. The title of the piece is How many mass shootings might have been prevented by stronger gun laws?, by Rahul Mukherjee, on 26 February, 2020. The article lists five types of restrictive gun laws and considers how they might have stopped 167 mass killings over the last...

The virus could bring down the regime in Iran. Really. And it would be entirely in keeping with the country’s traditions. The Iranian people are used to being lied to, and the virus is only the most recent example. As of March 4, there are almost 3,000 confirmed cases of coronavirus infections in Iran, and the tempo of spread is increasing. The holy city of Qom is the hardest-hit, and demonstrations have been widespread, having reached medical centers. Twitter had several videos of people passing out in streets and stores, and there were reports of high-ranking officials diagnosed with the...

Police are hunting four men after an Asian student was battered by racists saying they ‘don’t want your coronavirus’. Jonathan Mok, 23, was punched and kicked by a group of three or four men and a woman as he walked along Oxford Street last Monday, February 24. The Singaporean, who has lived in London for two years while studying at UCL, was allegedly taunted: ‘I don’t want your coronavirus in my country.’ Scotland Yard has released images of four men they wish to speak to in connection with the ‘racially aggravated’ incident. Detective Sergeant Emma Kirby said: ‘This attack left...

As the novel coronavirus spreads around the globe, sickening more than 90,000 people and killing about 3,000, doctors have noticed something curious: Very few children have been diagnosed with it. And of those who have, most have had mild cases. In China, where the outbreak started, children comprise just 2.4 percent of all reported cases of COVID-19, the illness caused by the new coronavirus, a World Health Organization-China Joint Mission report from last month found. Of those, only a sliver — 2.5 percent — experienced severe symptoms, and an even tinier proportion — 0.2 percent — became critically ill. Worldwide,...
