House Speaker Nancy Pelosi explained that Democrats expected President Trump to honor Democratic Rep. John Lewis, not Rush Limbaugh, when he referenced someone with stage 4 cancer during his State of the Union address. Trump, during his Tuesday speech, awarded the conservative radio host with the Presidential Medal of Freedom, a day after Limbaugh revealed his advanced lung cancer diagnosis. First lady Melania Trump placed the award on Limbaugh in the middle of the president's address to both chambers of Congress. During Pelosi's Thursday press conference, she explained that in the moment leading up to Trump presenting the award to...

Six minority women quit Elizabeth Warren's Nevada campaign staff this week, due an alleged "toxic environment" resulting in them feeling like "tokenized" minorities, according to a report from Politico. "The six staffers have left the roughly 70-person Nevada team since November, during a critical stretch of the race," says the report. "Three of them said they felt marginalized by the campaign, a situation they said didn’t change or worsened after they took their concerns to their superiors or to human resources staff." One staffer who left the campaign told Politico, “I felt like a problem — like I was there...

CNN is currently suffering a credibility crisis unlike anything they've experienced before. Last year, Business Insider reported that only 53% of American adults believe CNN is "credible," and among Republicans in particular, CNN's credibility has fallen "by nearly 20 percentage points since 2016." One of CNN’s most famous "Facts First" ad campaigns shows a shiny red apple against a white backdrop as a voiceover posits the following: “This is an apple. Some people might try to tell you that it’s a banana. They might scream banana banana banana over and over and over again. They might put BANANA in all...

As they twist in agony over President Trump's acquittal and the Iowa fiasco, and panic at the prospect of Bernie Sanders as the Democrat nominee, the liberal media is in full-blown meltdown mode. And so it was unsurprising that in their blind fury, Mika Brzezinski and Joe Scarborough lashed out on today's Morning Joe at the moderate Republican senators who voted to acquit President Trump. The particular target of their ire was Sen. Susan Collins of Maine. Not content to suggest that Collins was "unpatriotic," Brzezinski taunted Collins, telling her to "have fun" with her "legacy" of Ukrainian deaths.Get the...

Fox News senior judicial analyst Judge Andrew Napolitano explained Thursday how President Donald Trump legally could be impeached again, hours after slamming the Senate’s Wednesday acquittal vote in an op-ed. Napolitano called out Senate Republicans for voting against additional witness testimony and added that the president is “clearly guilty” of the impeachment charges in an op-ed. He added to these comments on Fox & Friends Thursday morning, explaining how there’s no double jeopardy, meaning Democrats could try and “impeach him again if they want.”

There’s an increasingly loud cry coming from certain corners of the media following the Iowa caucuses, and it reached its apotheosis Thursday morning with Joan Walsh’s piece in the Nation titled “The Erasure of Elizabeth Warren Continues.” (A few days earlier, she insisted in the same outlet that Warren had a movement that we “just haven’t seen” yet, so she’s clearly pushing this angle hard.) Here’s the crux of her newest argument: Iowa conventional wisdom says there are only “three tickets out” of the caucuses, and yet coverage has curiously overlooked the woman who got one of them: Massachusetts Senator...

The media is ignoring that Warren beat Joe Biden, the Democratic front-runner, and outperformed her final polling.oming out of the disastrous Iowa caucuses this week, media coverage of the Democratic presidential race turned back the clock almost a year: Suddenly everyone was again focused on “the B-Boys,” as Washington Post columnist Margaret Sullivan lamented last March: Bernie Sanders, Pete Buttigieg and Joe Biden, with a fourth killer B, Mike Bloomberg, replacing the departed Beto O’Rourke. Since Monday night, there’s been breathless coverage of the race between Sanders and Buttigieg to see who, finally, comes out on top in Iowa, plus...

The New York Times reported Friday morning that African American workers are seeing their wages rise for the first time after a “decade of stagnation,” further evidence of the strength of the U.S. economy. The Times report came as the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported that the economy created 225,000 new jobs in January, smashing expectations. Unemployment ticked upward to 3.6% — but that was due to more workers entering the labor force, generating the highest labor force participation rate thus far in the recovery from the Great Recession. Average hourly wage gains also rose slightly year-on-year, to 3.1%....

Former Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton furthered her comments discrediting Sen. Bernie Sanders as a viable presidential candidate on Thursday, insinuating that his potential failure to "deliver the moon" would detract from efforts to rebuild public trust. When asked by talk show host Ellen DeGeneres if she wanted to address her prior remarks about the Vermont independent, Clinton noted that while she originally made them about a year and a half ago, "I have a pretty clear perspective about what it's going to take to win, and as I said earlier, that's what I think the key calculation for any...

Fox News’ own research team has warned colleagues not to trust some of the network’s top commentators’ claims about Ukraine. An internal Fox News research briefing book obtained by The Daily Beast openly questions Fox News contributor John Solomon’s credibility, accusing him of playing an “indispensable role” in a Ukrainian “disinformation campaign.” The document also accuses frequent Fox News guest Rudy Giuliani of amplifying disinformation, as part of an effort to oust former U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine Marie Yovanovitch, and blasts Fox News guests Victoria Toensing and Joe diGenova—both ardent Trump boosters—for “spreading disinformation.” The 162-page document, entitled “Ukraine, Disinformation,...

Nearly all non-English speaking immigrant voters who gathered at a multilingual caucus site in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, supported democratic socialist Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT). During the Iowa Democrat Caucus this week, where the full results are still not tallied, Sanders won the support of about 107 non-English speaking immigrant voters out of 121 present at a multilingual Cedar Rapids caucus site with various translators, according to The Gazette:

Hoping to fan racial flames in his direction before the South Carolina primary, Pete Buttigieg tweeted out his support for Trayvon Martin on the occasion of what would have been Martin's 25th birthday, February 5. "Trayvon Martin would have been 25 today," Mayor Pete tweeted. "How many 25th birthdays have been stolen from us by white supremacy, gun violence, prejudice, and fear?" Buttigieg threw in a Black Lives Matter hashtag just to make sure black voters knew he was down for the struggle. This tweet would have been unfortunate six months ago. Today, it is unforgivable. In December, attorney Larry...

A bill to scrap Lee-Jackson Day as a holiday in Virginia has now passed both the House and Senate. Lee-Jackson Day, established over 100 years ago, is observed annually on the Friday preceding the third Monday in January. It honors Confederate generals Robert E. Lee and Thomas “Stonewall” Jackson, both native Virginians. Critics of the Lee-Jackson holiday view it as a celebration of the state's slave-holding history that’s offensive to African Americans. Many cities and counties have opted not to observe it. The bill passed the Senate last month with a vote of 22-18. The bill then passed the House...

We have an Chinese co-worker who lives here in the US. When the coronavirus outbreak began, I thought of asking her if she knew anyone who might be affected or worse yet - infected. But of course, didn't want to stereotype her by assuming she would be affected since she is in fact, Chinese. But with her giving notice that she is moving on to a startup, she opened up to me about that's going in 'back home'... She told me about how she's worried about her sister who lives in Wuhan. According to her sister, no one is allowed...

Statement from the Press Secretary STATEMENTS & RELEASES  IMMIGRATION  Issued on: February 6, 2020 Today, a single, unelected, district judge in the Central District of California issued a legally groundless and sweeping injunction that—if not immediately lifted—will guarantee the release of innumerable criminal illegal aliens into our communities putting citizens at dire risk. This ruling undermines the pillars of immigration enforcement and blocks traditional and vital law enforcement cooperation that has occurred for decades. This injunction puts the health and lives of innocent Americans in direct jeopardy. Our neighborhoods are less safe today as a result of this dangerous district court ruling.   The Free...

ACRONYM, the technology firm behind Shadow Inc. and the Democratic Iowa caucus disaster, is more than just a wonkish outfit churning out code for political clients. By many accounts, the secretive organization served as a power nexus that connected party elites including Barack Obama, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg, and Hillary Clinton. As the fiasco surrounding the Iowa caucuses continues to unravel, the malfunctioning app that caused the delay in the reporting of Monday’s results has taken center stage. The secretive firm pulling the strings has also been yanked into the spotlight against its will as evidence mounts that its leaders...

The theory for those pushing the green new deal or some other radical energy policy that will destroy tens of millions of jobs and greatly harm the poor and middle class is that humans, CO2, and fossil fuels cause warming and climate change. This warming causes the ice to melt in Alaska, then the melting ice causes sea levels to rise and the rising sea levels will cause coastal cities to under water. They have predicted the coastal cities to disappear for the last 100 years and they have been wrong for 100 years. Meanwhile, Alaska has been exceptionally cold...

So that the right-wing, faux-outrage crowd does not have a meltdown, let me be clear: I am sorry to hear talk-radio host Rush Limbaugh has cancer. Any decent person should hope he has a full recovery. His health condition, however, does not excuse a career of hate-filled racism, homophobia and misogyny, nor remotely justify giving him a high honor in the form of the Presidential Medal of Freedom. That honor has been granted to patriots and heroes, human rights leaders and artistic trailblazers, ranging from Rosa Parks to Elie Wiesel to George Balanchine. The Post reports: [Critics] pointed to the...

Roberta McCain, the mother of the late Sen. John McCain, celebrated her 108th birthday on Friday. Her granddaughter, Meghan McCain, tweeted out the news. "Happy 108th Birthday to my nana Roberta. You are our matriarch," the conservative co-host of ABC's The View said. "Completely ageless, classic, lovely, strong, smart, sarcastic, irreverent and all things I love in this world. We are so grateful for you." McCain, 35, also shared the secret to her grandmother's long life on The View after host Sunny Hostin asked: "Have you ever asked her what her secret is to longevity?" "She said, 'A sense of...
