Deputy White House Counsel Patrick Philbin shredded House Intelligence Committee Chairman and lead Impeachment Manager Adam Schiff (D-CA) for his contact with the Ukranian whistleblower, which led to the impeachment inquiry, and eventually the current trial. As it currently sits, we are still in the dark about what role Schiff and his staff played in the whistleblower's inquiry. Sen. Mike Lee (R-UT) presented the question on behalf of Sens. Ted Cruz (R-TX) and Josh Hawley (R-MO). "Is it true that Shawn Misco and Abigail Grace and the alleged whistleblower were employed by or detailed by the National Security Council in...

Ford Focus and Fiesta owners have had many days in court, but finally, it appears a long-running class-action lawsuit will wrap up. According to court documents filed this past Friday, first spotted by the Detroit Free Press, the Blue Oval has agreed to settle a lawsuit surrounding an allegedly faulty transmission found in the 2011-2016 Fiesta and 2012-2016 Focus. The dual-clutch transmission, named DPS6, has for years been the focal point of consumer complaints. The lawsuit, filed in 2012, alleged that Ford lied about the problems in the cars and continued to sell them to buyers, allegedly blaming them for...

The last fighter ace of the Battle of Britain has died, leaving only two of The Few alive. Wing Commander Paul Farnes DFM, died peacefully at his home in Hampshire on Tuesday morning at the age of 101. One of 3,000 Allied airmen who fought in the Battle of Britain, Mr Farnes was the last surviving ace — pilots credited with bringing down five or more enemy aircraft. His death leaves only two living members of the so-called Few, the heroic RAF pilots who defended Britain’s skies against Nazi invasion during the Second World War. A supporter of the Battle...

If you are encouraging your children to watch football, you may be a "crappy" parent. Football exposes players to the risk of brain damage, and the pro game discriminates against Colin Kaepernick and African American coaches. As a parent who subjects children to football's flaws, you may be a co-conspirator to their hedonism, cognitive dissonance and hypocrisy, alleges Time magazine senior writer Sean Gregory. His story, "Is it Unethical to Watch Football With Your Kids?" will appear in Time's February issue. He begins: As another super bowl approaches, I keep thinking about a clear September afternoon at MetLife Stadium, home...

De Mattei: The Simony of the German Bishops “How I would like a poor Church for the poor” exclaimed Pope Francis (L’Osservatore Romano, March 17, 2013). The antithesis of his ideal however, is embodied precisely by the church closest to him – the German one. The German Episcopal Conference, which sponsored ideologically and economically last October’s Synod on the Amazon, is in fact the wealthiest and most privileged enterprise in all of Germany. This wealth comes from the Kirchensteuer, a tax that the State devolves to the Church, by retaining a figure amounting to 8-9% of the overall tax burden...

Whether intentionally or not, feminist icon Gloria Steinem completely misunderstands what is at the heart of the pro-life movement. In a new interview with Variety, the 85-year-old slammed pro-life activism as “patriarchy” and compared pro-lifers – at least half of all Americans – to Adolph Hitler and the Nazis. To Steinem, a woman’s ability to abort her unborn baby is at the core of freedom and any opposition to abortion on demand is “patriarchy.” According to the interview, “… Steinem said Americans have yet to realize that controlling reproduction is the top priority of any oppressive government, and the very...

Dispensing more of her supposed invaluable expertise, MSNBC’s Deadline: White House host and Republican-turned-lefty Nicolle Wallace boasted Tuesday about the barrage of anti-Trump breaking news developments (like those about John Bolton) being akin to “volcanic eruptions” and voting against witnesses would be “political suicide.” Wallace took a stab at the first point during a break in the Senate impeachment trial prior to the final session, referring how there was a “morning news gush — and that's what these are” and “when you wake up to, like, volcano — volcanic eruptions.”“Today's eruption brought a second excerpt from the Bolton book, about...

The priest who fight valiently alongside Terri Schiavo’s family to protect her right to life has passed away. The Schindler family fought a losing uphill battle against the court system that decided Terri was better off dead than living as a disabled patient. Monsignor Thaddeus F. Malanowski, a retired Brigadier General in the United States Army and who became known as “Terri Schiavo’s priest” during her family’s battle to properly care for her, died on January 23, 2020. U.S. authorities on Wednesday announced the discovery of the longest smuggling tunnel ever found on the Southwest border, stretching more than three-quarters of a mile from Tijuana, Mexico, into the San Diego area. U.S. Customs and Border Protection said the tunnel originates in an industrial area in Mexico and extends a total of 4,309 feet (1,313 meters). It features an extensive rail/cart system, forced air ventilation, high-voltage electrical cables and panels, an elevator at the tunnel entrance, and a complex drainage system, the agency said. “While subterranean tunnels are not a new occurrence along the California-Mexico border, the sophistication and...

DENVER (CBS4)– Sen. Cory Gardner is among the senators questioning President Donald Trump’s attorneys and house managers in the impeachment trial. The Republican senator from Colorado said he doesn’t believe the Senate needs to hear from more witnesses. “I do not believe we need to hear from an 18th witness. I have approached every aspect of this grave constitutional duty with the respect and attention required by law, and have reached this decision after carefully weighing the House managers and defense arguments and closely reviewing the evidence from the House, which included well over 100 hours of testimony from 17...

We’ve all heard this before about the 2020 field. They’re too liberal, too milquetoast, and their agenda really isn’t appealing to blue-collar workers. They say they want to be the party for everyone. The reality is they’re just doubling down on the urban areas and hoping some more black voters and the Trump deranged and utterly insufferable professional elites to put them over the top. In other words, screw white working-class workers. It’s a ruse. Again, you all know this, but Democrats continue to ignore the Electoral College game. It’s very possible, in fact—it’s likely, that the 2020 Democratic nominee...

Days after he took part in viciously attacking Trump supporters for supposedly not being able to read, CNN anchor Don Lemon finally addressed the controversy on-air, but only after it blew up across social media. During his opening monologue for Tuesday’s CNN Tonight, Lemon refuses to apologize, instead claiming he doesn't belittle people and was only laughing at the joke and didn't hear everything. “And one final note that I have for you. Because this is personally important to me to address this,” he claimed. “Anyone, ask anyone who knows me. They’ll tell you. I don't believe in belittling people....

The Board of Pardons and Paroles declined Tuesday to grant clemency to Donnie Lance, a 65-year-old inmate whose execution looms. Attorneys for Lance have motions before several courts to halt his death, but barring any last minute intervention, he is expected to be executed after 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Georgia Diagnostic and Classification Prison in Jackson. The method of death will be a lethal injection of pentobarbital, punishment for the 1997 brutal murders of Lance’s ex-wife Joy Lance, 39, and her boyfriend, Dwight “Butch” Wood Jr., 33. The inmate’s children, whose mother was Joy Lance, pleaded with the board...
