DENVER (CBS4)– Sen. Cory Gardner is among the senators questioning President Donald Trump’s attorneys and house managers in the impeachment trial. The Republican senator from Colorado said he doesn’t believe the Senate needs to hear from more witnesses.
“I do not believe we need to hear from an 18th witness. I have approached every aspect of this grave constitutional duty with the respect and attention required by law, and have reached this decision after carefully weighing the House managers and defense arguments and closely reviewing the evidence from the House, which included well over 100 hours of testimony from 17 witnesses,” said Gardner on Wednesday.

Romney and others, if they demand Bolton and others as witnesses means Atkinson, Schiff, etc, get called too.

Note they are talking about A witness. One. Meaning Trump gets no defense witnesses. The dems ran a sham inquisition in the house and now they are running a sham trial in the “Republican controlled (hah hah hah!) Senate.
I think he’s baiting them. The 18th witness has gone into a black hole. But the Republicans will call him if there are to be any witnesses called.
This is a big surprise to me. I’m thankful, but surprised.
This is good. This is Gardner-—viewed as one of those on the bubble-—saying, “he’s done.” That’s it. Now Yertle has to strongarm only Tom Collins or MurCowSki and have the vote.
Here’s my prediction: once it’s clear Yertle has the votes, it will be 53 GOP in unison voting to end this. Minion won’t want to go this alone.
Then, once there are no more shenanigans, I think you’ll see Manchin and possibly Enema vote to acquit. I don’t think Jones does.
Isn’t the “18th witness” the IC IG? Schiff obviously had hidden his testimony. Gardner should be saying 19th witness if that is the case.
He blew the whistle on Ukrainian corruption and sought to do something about it.
I think Mitt will try to pull something cute like vote to convict on the first charge and acquit on the second charge. He'll do it to show his independence.

My takeaway is that Gardner said the house managers presented 17 prosecution witness testimonies to the senate. No more witnesses are needed.
My take too. Really surprised that Gardner is a no on witnesses. Makes me think some Dems are going to vote to acquit, too. That would make it a bipartisan acquittal to a strictly partisan House impeachment.

My scorecard on witnesses is Dems 18 - GOP 0. Not confident that will be improving any time soon. My bet is Schiff will have more Ukraine haox witnesses in his House committee before our first GOP Senate committee hearing witness.
Well, Gardner came into office as a proponent of Colorado’s Cannabis, Inc. bullcrap business model that was voted in, and which Law Enforcement said would increase crime, which it has because the street drug sellers are beating out any “medical marijuana” “clinics” (there is no clinical benefit to THC, the psychoactive component of marijuana- not pure CBD hemp, different plant) prices.
So, yeah- he IS Gov. “Stoner” who obviously cannot keep his mind focused on FACTS. Perfect Rino/dhim Senator, idiot. And don’t forget Caddyshack Boehner (the alkie) who is the chief lobbyist for Cannabis, Inc. Figures— his daughter is married to a Jamaican Posse ganger and stoner businessman.
