Patrik Mathews, formerly with the Canadian Forces, was arrested by the FBI on gun charges. Mathews, along with two other men are allegedly connected to a neo-Nazi gang. The men allegedly planned to attack a Virginia gun rally scheduled for next week. The charges against Mathews include the transporting of a firearm and ammunition with intent to commit a felony and breaking immigration laws. Mathews was a former reservist in the Canadian Army who officials claim illegally entered the United States. Reno City Manager Sabra Newby spotted a pigeon wearing a sombrero and Tweeted about it on Wednesday. This follows a pigeon in Las Vegas with a cowboy hat glued to its head that died earlier this week. Washoe County Animal Services said this is the first known instance of something like this in the area. People who see the bird asked to call dispatch at 775-322-3644 because they need to know the exact location to track the bird. Gov. Gavin Newsom is on a weeklong statewide tour promoting his billion-dollar effort to tackle the homeless crisis in California. The governor signed an emergency order last week and plans on distributing one hundred FEMA trailers throughout the state. Touting his effort, the governor’s office highlighted a fleet of trailers that were on their way to a vacant lot in Oakland on Wednesday. The trailers will provide services and shelter to homeless people.
