LONDON – The British government insisted on Sunday the country will leave the European Union on Oct. 31 despite a letter that Prime Minister Boris Johnson was forced by parliament to send to the bloc requesting a Brexit delay. The Brexit maelstrom has spun wildly in the past week between the possibility of an orderly exit on Oct. 31 with a deal that Johnson struck on Thursday and a delay after he was forced to ask for an extension late on Saturday. Johnson’s defeat in the British parliament over the sequencing of the ratification of his deal exposed the prime...

President Trump's dishonest political rhetoric may have been inspired by Adolf Hitler's notorious propaganda minister Joseph Goebbels, 2020 presidential hopeful Beto O'Rourke said in a bold claim during a Sunday TV interview. O'Rourke made the remarks on MSNBC's "PoliticsNation." "President Trump, perhaps inspired by Goebbels and the propagandists of the Third Reich, seems to employ this tactic that the bigger the lie, the more obscene the injustice, the more dizzying the pace of this bizarre behavior, the less likely we are to be able to do something about it," he said.

In my opinion Lindsey is corrupt, I suspect he is owned - or blackmailed - by armaments and open-borders interests So he is doing nothing with his judiciary committee to fight corruption, instead he is spending all his energy fighting to keep us embroiled in Middle East wars Trump should go to South Carolina and denounce this weasel in front of a massive crowd. Lindsey needs to go. Pack him up and move him to the Syria/Turkey border.

Parliament must be given "a straight up-and-down vote" on the PM's Brexit deal, No 10 says, after MPs delivered a major blow to his strategy on Saturday. Boris Johnson was forced by law to send a letter asking the EU for a new delay on Brexit, but did not sign it. The PM now wants MPs to say a clear "yes" or "no" to the deal on Monday, adding: "We cannot allow Parliament's letter to lead to Parliament's delay." It will be up to Speaker John Bercow to decide whether to allow the vote.

When a presidential candidate raises a lot of money, they’re probably going to tell you about it, which leads to a lot of headlines like this:(HEADLINES-AT-LINK) Those headlines aren’t wrong, but they also don’t tell you that much on their own. That’s because each candidate who’s bragging about his or her fundraising total is doing it in a vacuum. It’s tough to know whether to care about, say, Bernie Sanders’s haul without knowing what the other candidates brought in. Luckily, all candidates must file detailed reports of their fundraising and spending at least once a quarter. This information, which is...

Donald Trump is known to many opponents as the troll in the Oval Office, but the woman he beat for the most powerful seat in the world seems to have learned something from his willingness to tweet provocative pictures and memes. On Sunday afternoon, Hillary Clinton tweeted a mocked-up letter from John F Kennedy to Nikita Khrushchev that was meant squarely to mock a real letter from Trump to Recep Tayyip Erdoğan which was revealed to the public this week. “Found in the archives,” Clinton wrote, over an image of what purported to be a letter from the US president...

Lindsey Graham said in an interview that aired Sunday night that he could not rule out the possibility of impeachment if new evidence emerges. In an interview on "Axios on HBO," Jonathan Swan asked the South Carolina senator: "Are you open minded if more to comes out that you could support impeachment?" "Sure, I mean show me something that is a crime," Graham replied. "If you could show me that, you know, Trump actually was engaging in a quid pro quo outside the phone...

Deep-sea explorers and historians on Sunday announced they apparently found a second World War II-era Japanese aircraft carrier that sank during the Battle of Midway. A review of sonar data captured Sunday showed either the Japanese carrier Akagi or the Soryu resting in nearly 18,000 feet of water in the Pacific Ocean more than 1,300 miles northwest of Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, Vulcan Inc. director of undersea operations Rob Kraft said. The researchers used an autonomous underwater vehicle, or AUV, equipped with sonar to find the ship. The vehicle had been out overnight collecting data, and the image of a warship...

It’s hard to keep up with all the studies touting South Carolina as a great place to do business. The latest, from Area Development magazine, ranked South Carolina third-best overall in its 2019 Top States for Doing Business, behind only Georgia and Tennessee. The magazine based its rankings on states’ objective and subjective scores on a dozen attributes. It found that South Carolina had the nation’s best business incentives and its second-best workforce development programs. We finished third in shovel-ready sites, cooperative and responsive state government, favorable utility rates, speed of permitting and overall cost of doing business. We had...

There is an urgent need to create new jobs in Greenland’s mining and tourism industries. At the same time more foreign labour is needed, say the social partners. Cutters and trawlers in Northern Greenland are catching fish and prawns in such numbers that the Greenlandic economy is close to overheating. The fisheries fairytale has triggered a veritable construction boom in the capital Nuuk, where cranes and new builds shoot into the sky everywhere, while house prices do the same. It has become difficult to live in the capital unless you earn a lot of money. Meanwhile, Greenland’s fish processing plants,...

A 20-strong gang set upon four tree surgeons in Rochdale, England, calling them “white bastards” and cutting off a teenage worker’s hand with an axe. 27-year-old Habibur Rahman gathered the mob after the workers had stopped him from abusing an elderly woman. Rahman, incensed he had been “disrespected” on his “territory”, tracked the four workers to the property they were working on in the rape gang blighted city, blocking them by parking his car across the driveway while the mob approached armed with a claw hammer, knives, machetes, a knuckle-duster — and the fateful axe. “I am not going to...

Following the fourth Democratic debate in Westerville, Ohio, BlazeTV's Eric Bolling questioned candidates Beto O'Rourke and Sen. Cory Booker (D-N.J.) about their support for a gun confiscation policy, and asked billionaire presidential candidate Tom Steyer why he thinks the economy isn't thriving under President Donald Trump. "Congressman, can you please clarify how you will get the ARs and AKs back," Bolling asked O'Rourke. "I expect our fellow Americans to follow the law. If you own and AR-15, if you own an AK-47, and it is no longer legal to own that, I expect you to turn it in," O'Rourke said....

AZTEC, N.M. - It was a cold Monday morning at C.V. Koogler Middle School in Aztec. Students stumbled into Shannon Albores' history class and take off their rumpled jackets. After reciting the Pledge of Allegiance, they greeted their teacher by saying in unison, `magandang umaga!'-- which is Filipino for `good morning.' Albores was born and raised in a city called Cebu in the Philippines. There she earned a teaching credential and started teaching kindergarten and elementary school. She liked it, but after learning of an opportunity to teach abroad -- and with it, the chance to earn a higher salary...
